Nice place to stay

We spent 2 weeks at SVC while our trunk was in the shop(our travel trailer got towed there- highly recommend Good Sam Roadside policy). Everyone on staff was accomodating, helpful and friendly. Very nice campground ammenities- stocked fishing pond, big swimming pool, and really nice creek for tubing with waterfall to cool down on the hotter days, horseshoes, mini golf and more. The biggest negative is lack of cell service/internet. Luckily it's a short drive to get service. Weekends were packed(esp. Memorial Day), but much quieter during the week. Many sites are tight and no walking paths between rows so people regularly walk through occupied sites when it's crowded. Smaller negatives- some washer/dryers out of order and litter left by campers wasn't picked up. Overall, a nice place to stay.

When it was the KOA, it was great....now, meh

We used to love this place.  I'm not a huge endorser of conglomerates, however this is an instant that I wish the people that own this campground would take a page out of their book.  I'd almost swear they added more sites.  We were in a teardrop camper and we were practically on top of our neighbors.  The pluses here are there is a falls that you can walk to and wade out to.  Always fun!  You can rent an inner tube and float down the river.  There are cute bunnies on the property.  The minuses-we found the bathhouses not so great, the pool when we were there wasn't in good shape and after that, we didn't even bother with the hot tubs.  There is a lot to do in the area, but having said that, it's not worth the money for another visit.  It's sad because we really loved this place in the 90's.  Luckily, lots of breweries, wineries, food and neat bars around to visit!

Gorgeous river and waterfall and peaceful surroundings. The tube ride down was fun! The river had some algae and didn't seem as clean as i would hope a mountian river would be. Some of the guests were kinda rednecky for lack of a better word, making me feel not totally at ease. The staff were very nice and the heated pool was great. Oh yeah and.. bunnies everywhere! Two playgrounds and a fishing pond. Great place for kids to have fun. Our site had no shade, but was almost directly on the river, huge, and level. A mixed bag, but overall we enjoyed our stop here.

Nice grounds, tight spaces, wifi doesn’t work, no cell service for Verizon

Pros- the grounds are very nice, lots of trees, level sites, some grass, lots of activities for the kids. Tent sites by the river, a pool, hot tubs, store, cafe with limited items. Laundry facility. Wild but tame bunnies are everywhere.

Cons - we were there in October and they close on 10/31 for the season so we got the feeling they weren’t that into it anymore. Bathrooms and showers were disgusting. Very dirty with what appeared to be mold around the upper section of the shower. Store not well stocked. Hot tub room had a mildew odor, same with the bathrooms. Laundry was dirty, machines not clean. No wifi, no cable and cell service is limited - definitely not good for Verizon. There were no fewer than half a dozen people walking around with their phones held high trying to get a signal and all seemed to congregate in  front of our trailer so we were able to hear their conversations. We thought the cable issue might have been on our end but after taking to other campers we found out they were having the same problem. Spaces are tight.

Bonus - Halloween is a big even in many RV parks and this was no exception. There were a few campers who fixed up a trailer as a haunted house and decorated the outside to the max. We did enjoy our evening walk around the park looking at decorated RVs.

Although we could see the potential the park, we wouldn’t stay again.

RV rentals are disgusting

Came here for my moms birthday. They own an RV and we decided to stay in a rental RV since we have small children. I desperately wish we would have just bought camping gear and done a tent site. The RV rental reeked of cigarettes and mold. The Rv itself was it rough shape, but I wouldn’t have cared if it was at least clean. I can’t believe I payed that much to stay there. I was too grossed out to enjoy the amenities of this place to say anything else about this place.

Lazy river fun

Stayed in a cabin here. It was clean, but had a trail of ants get into my belongings. Sites are close to one another and the cabins are not near the water. They are near the bath house though. We went right before July 4th and it was busy. Walked to the river to go tubing. It was fun but their was a lot of people in the water doing the same. There’s a nice waterfall at the end. There was a lot of cute bunnies hopping around everywhere. If we were to come back, I’d prefer to stay on the tent sites on the water.

Beautiful river access tent sites

Beautiful river access directly from tent site! Lots of amenities from hot tubs, fishing pond and a heated pool. Staff was friendly and site was well maintained. Bathrooms were clean. Only complaint is that tent sites are really close together.

Love it

We’ve been coming here for the last 6 years. The staff is always nice and friendly. And their always willing to help in any way they can. Tamed bunny rabbits everywhere that you can hang out with and feed. Plenty of fishing and things to do. And the waterfall is amazing. Will definitely continue to come here.

Oh bunnies!!

This was a cool campground for families, not really our cup of tea. They had a lot of activities planned for the weekend and the resort has an arcade, a stock pond, mini golf, pool, hot tubs, tubing, and a waterfall. Enough to keep the whole family busy. Loved seeing all the free roaming rabbits and was unique to this campground. The layout of the campground leaves some spots to be very undesirable as they are used by campers to cut through at all hours to the amenities.

Rabbits? Seriously ?

We got in late and the office was closed, but our check in information was posted on their bulletin board. It was easy to find our site and get settled before dark overtook us. Driving in we saw lots of rabbits running around the grassy area outside the office. One of the other campers told us they are resident rabbits. They were domestic, but were turned lose and have mated with local rabbits, and the fo what rabbits do! Our site was level, with water and electric. They do have full hookups as well. Our site is right on the river, there is a nice waterfall at the end of one of the camping loops. They also rent tubes for floating the river. The section we were in was not crowded, so our assigned site was not right on top of the neighbors, which was nice. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the evening before heading to bed. There is a pool and large play ground. No off leash dog area, but there is a dog walk in the woods. The major downside of this place is the internet is terrible! We kept getting kicked off the network while we were trying to plan our next day traveling.

Cute Bunnys Bad wifi

Overall this could be a great park. Everything needs a new coat of paint. And the wifi is just not working then need a new router. Hot tubs were great. Some sites need to be more level I had to lower my nose all the way down and still not level.

Fun

We got an RV site right along the River (site 41) and it was very small. We use tents but wanted water & electric because it’s July. I’d say it’s more of an RV park than a campground. Looked at the tent sites and some seemed a little bigger than the RV ones. The River was a blast though. I wish people at the campground wouldn’t litter from their campsites or while on the river though. Lots of trash on the cliffs below the campsites and people throwing empty cans into the river while tubing. I tried to pick up as much as I can, but you’d think people who enjoy the river for it’s fun and beauty wouldn’t trash it….. can’t fix stupid I guess.

Campground is a little rednecky but that’s not a terrible thing. If you’re looking for a place with more remote or spread out sites maybe don’t go here, but if you have kids they would probably have a blast.

Family and pet friendly campground

My friends and I went the last weekend of March; the heated pool was open. They have a game room. I think this campground would be nicer to return to in the summer so as to swim in the river. Campground staff seemed present to help. Poor cell reception and wifi. Bathhouses were clean. Saw an owl. A little expensive. Nice pond to fish and play areas for kiddos.

Friendly staff got us in on a very busy weekend! We had a great site on the river. Spaces were small but big enough for all our equipment. They had an awesome pool that was heated, hot tubs, mini golf and good playgrounds. My kids were in heaven. Would recommend to others and stay again if we were in the area.

Close to Skydiving!

Have stayed here twice when skydiving at Skydive Shenandoah. I will say the tent sites aren’t super desirable. Not private and gravel. The cabins though - perfect for one or two people, has a fire ring. Both times we had a nice stay, both times in a cabin. Lots of antiquing and flea marketing in the area.
