Beautiful lake; good value

Level site with good drainage made this a nice spot for a 3-day rest during a time of limited personal mobility. Washrooms are at quite a distance from this site so we were glad to be completely self-contained. Accessibility to both beach swimming areas is risky for those needing to use a cane or…

No alcohol allowed !!

The police visited us bc we were drinking outside of our camper. He was very nice and explained no alcohol allowed. This is clearly stated and we were in the wrong. Spaces are not private but the lake is beautiful. I can see where some people would love this campground. We canoed and that was fun.

Beautiful park in a beautiful setting

Lots to do here, great trails for hiking. The campground was nice, some spots were more level than others and there wasn’t much screening between sites, but in all the setting was beautiful and the park was worth the visit. The bathhouse was clean . The hot water in the shower wasn’t that hot,…

Great place for families

Our family has camped here multiple times.  Great place to stay due to clean facilities and well kept sites. The lake is perfect for little ones and even grownup kids. Also love the trails that surround the campground.  Would definitely recommend for a camping trip.

Great Adventure in SW Virginia

This weekend was a great adventure in SW Virginia. We stayed in a Yurt. It has no electricity or water but the bath house was close. The yurt has a double bed, a twin trundle, a couch and some chairs, and a table and chairs. It also has a large wrap around deck with rocking chairs. A picnic…

Family Fall Camping Trip

We had a great weekend with the whole family! There was a carnival for the kids, trick-or-treating, hiking, tons of bike riding, campfire watching, hammock swinging, laughing, loving, and hanging out! We had a campsite with electric and water close to the bathhouse which is great because we have…

Halloween at Jellystone

This was our end of year camping trip And we wanted to do a Halloween camp Our site was good, a little close to other campers but do-able

Most of the campers had candy out for the trick or treaters this was a lot of fun

We also took a hike to Natural Bridge state park

Overall good trip

Great for young kids

We camped on a busy fall weekend. The campground has Halloween themed activities for kids on specific weekends. We were there for one of these weekends. It’s geared for younger kids(10 and under).

We had a tent site with water and electricity. There’s a bath house. There are other amenities,…

Great place!!

Great spot for tent camping! Loved the hillside spots bc of all the trees and the multiple levels that the spots are on. They are all built out and flat. Bathrooms are clean and campground was quiet. I had issues finding out if pets were allowed... they are! My dog and I had an awesome time and we…

Great camping at the Lake!

We had a wonderful time camping at Smith Mountain Lake State Park! We stayed at the end of March and it was definitely spring weather. Warmish during the day and very cool at night. Staying here in the late winter/early spring, the campground is not as crowded as it would be in summer!

We stayed…

Family family family

They go out of there way for kids. Something for everyone. If you camp near the activities you get some basic closer spots. If you camp across the road the spots are very nice. So.... not on the River but nice or on the water but tight? Ether way it was very pretty and they even have golf cart…

“Amentities camp”

I do not care for this camp it is in my opinion over priced, and overrated. I prefer cave mountain which is close to this. Horse back riding available for fee. Has a pool for swimming, a small lake that you can no longer swim in. It does have electric. WiFi is limited to certain areas. Store close…
