The trail offers beautiful views of American Fork Canyon. American Fork Creek can be accessed 3 miles south. A favorite among fly-fisherman, the creek has light pressure for stocked rainbow trout. The 20-mile paved Alpine Loop Scenic Byway passes just a few miles from the campground, traveling through alpine canyons, mountain meadows, aspen groves and pine forests, with breathtaking views of the Wasatch Range. This road is not recommended for vehicles over 30 feet in length. Timpanogos and Lone Peak Wilderness Areas are nearby, offering a myriad of additional hiking and biking opportunities.

Little Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful area known for its soaring peaks, unique geology, pristine hidden lakes and cascading streams. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails are in the area. Rock climbing is a popular activity as well. Snowbird Resort is a few miles up-canyon, offering scenic tram rides, hiking, mountain biking, restaurants, groceries, an Alpine Slide, zip line rides, concerts and various festivals. Albion Basin, part of Alta Ski Resort just a few miles further up-canyon, hosts the Wasatch Wildflower Festival annually in late July/early August, complete with guided nature walks. Numerous hiking trails can be found in Albion Basin, including the 1.5-mile round-trip hike to Cecret Lake.

Diamond Campground is located among shady cottonwoods and willow at an elevation of 5,200 feet. The family sites are located just 15 miles from Spanish Fork and the group sites are 2-3 miles further. Visitors enjoy exploring local trails and relaxing along the stream.
The stream and creek offer fishing for brown and cutthroat trout. An interpretive nature trail winds through the campground along the stream. Hiking, biking and off-road vehicle trails are abundant in the area.

Pine and aspen, some spots more shaded than others. Easy walk to lake and there is a nice paved trail around it. Spotty cell service at road, none in campground.
Food aside: Freeze-dried Pad thai with chicken, supplemented chicken (packet from Wal Mart) and it was very good with a bit of heat. Also added garlic powder (always).

Very popular campground. Sites nestled in the trees. Occasional road noise. It is shows as first come first served but somehow people can make reservations ahead of time. We looked for a sign which said OPEN and camped there. Hosts are great.

It was easy to find and the road can be a little scary when wet. There is a couple of miles with pretty rocky roads so i wouldn't risk a low clearance car. It was extremely busy when we went, but managed to find a spot mostly to ourselves. No bathrooms, primitive and huge families with atvs and dirt bikes everywhere nearby. They were polite and had reasonable time for no noise. Cool pathways to walk or ride on and very nice views even though most the wildflowers seemed to have just finished their blooms.

We loved everything about this place. The sites are in great condition and very clean. The flush toilets were a plus. It is a little bit of a jaunt to get to the lake, but it is worth going to for fishing, kayaking, paddleboards, or swimming. There are several ATV/OHV trails in the area. The camp hosts said that we could have our SxS in the campground as long as it was street legal, and they didn't charge me an extra vehicle fee. The two things that made this review 4 stars is the dirt road is a washboard mess. Basically, had to roll in 4-wheel drive in the lowest gear or I would have been shaken off the side. The second were all the cows that are allowed to graze through the campground.

Made a reservation for our RV. Nice, wide spots, all on grass. A firepit and a grill. Clean spots.
Very very crowded with a large group of campers, using the carpark and picknickarea the whole day and night. Too noisy. We didn't use the toilets because of the group of people next to it. The road is near, quity noisy also at night. And a train is passing every few hours, using its horn before the bend, 24/7....
Very nice host, who dropped by to check whether we were ok after arrival.
River is brownish, not meant to swim in.
Overall: good enough for one night while travelling from A to B. I guess the weekdays ( non-holiday) might be better.

Plenty of spots on an easy dirt road, campfire rings and lots of space. There's so many birds and critters so you get the nature sounds but it's close to the road so there's road noise all night. Beautiful space. I think I heard a moose in the night-possibly not, but possibly?

Nice location, along river but highway close. Be aware that can only access the park entrance from northbound lanes.
TravelerWe came up the end of August into Seprember. This is during the bow deer hunting. We were lucky to find one open camp ground. Bow hunters occupy mostly all the camp grounds.
The higher up you go the dirt roads get really rocky and rough.
GuideHeaded up this way to escape the valley heat. Temps are significantly cooler. Decent dispersed camping sites, but coming in on a Friday afternoon a lot of sites already filled. There is a lot of road traffic in the area, keep an eye out for side by sides, motorcycles and 4 wheelers because a lot of them aren’t.
GuideCamp spots are snug but do the job. Love the shade and scenic views. Road noise is kinda drowned out by the river, but you can still hear it if you try. Wish there were showers. Great little secluded access points into the river. Awesome way to cool off. Would stay again!

ScoutVery peaceful location and beautiful reservoir! It is located about 17 miles off hwy 40 (take the route which is paved for 10 miles and dirt road for 7 miles until you reach campground. Flush toilets and plenty of water spigots to fill your fresh water tanks.

You can’t drive to the coordinates, you have to park at the uppermost parking lot for Silver Flat and hike up to a camping spot. Camping anywhere along that road will give you gorgeous views, though! Saw lots of people camping super close to the lake and even along the shores, which is not allowed. You need to stay at least 1/2 mile away from the lake to camp. Maybe they open the road up at some point during the year, but as of July 2nd, it was gated off, so come prepared to backpack up to a spot

ScoutWe came here middle of the week and stayed in B57 in the upper loop. We basically had the place to ourselves and it was lush in green in mid June. We had a great firepit and BBQ grill as well as a picnic table. Lots of spots had covered tables, but we had a pop up, so we didn't care. All driveways and roads up to and around camp were paved. We have a 31 ft class A motor home and we navigated around easily. A loop has lots more trees but we certainly were not lacking. We will be back! Only 50 min from Salt Lake City.
GuideI highly recommend this campground on Mt. Timpanogos and near the beautiful resort created by Robert Redford, Sundance. Camp hosts are friendly and most of the sites are roomy and well-spaced.

GuideIt's not great. Next to a shooting range and orv trails, so you'll hear that. Shrubs and a few small trees dominate the landscape, so there isn't much privacy. Roads were bumpy, but manageable. Access depends on where you go, Several paths to take w other sites. Lots of trash. Rock fire pits. Amazing views of the mountains behind Provo and Utah Lake. Full cell service w At&t. Free!

ScoutI absolutely love it here. Nestled in the Uinta National Forest in Spanish Fork canyon. About a 2 1/2 mile drive from the fifth water hot springs trail. No hookups- if you are in an RV this is a dry campground. This is the only campground open late Fall. If you plan on staying here and visiting during the late summer/Fall- bring proper shoes! It is muddy this time of year

This campground is ok, would expect a little more since you have to pay $25. In a nice little suburban neighborhood. Spots are close together and not much privacy, our site was along the back fence. Each site had fire pit and picnic table. There are two bathrooms, no showers and no electricity. It looks like there are a couple water fill up spigots but not potable.
