Beautiful, Big Lot

This was really just a big empty grass lot with plenty of space to spread out. There were two other people there overnight.

Open spaces

Easy to find and accessible. There is a sign on the highway Sheep Creek. This is open range so you might see some cattle. I am sure you will see some cow patties so watch your step. As you come up the road you will cross a cattle guard continue up hill and you will turn left shortly. There are several sites some with fire rings. No services. Has a nice wooden fence around the site. The first of Nay and we have snow capped peaks for our view. Verizon is great with our wee boost. How many times do you have to be asked. THE PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT. Our fire pit had about five pounds of broken bottles burned food that smelled and cans. People glass food and cans will not magically evaporate in a camp fire. Doesn’t get hot enough. Please take care of our public lands.

Great group site convenient from the highway

Easy to find, large open field for camping with views in all directions. Better for RVs and self contained vans as there were no amenities or even privacy, it was still large enough that we had plenty of distance between us and any other parties. Quiet and serene on a Sunday night, but it appeared to be a staging ground for ATVs so I imagine it could get loud over the peak weekend days. Our dogs loved having a romp in the adjacent field after a long day in the car.

Solid Camp ground

Space can be limited but if you go early enough you can find good spots. There are some existing fire pits and the ground is pretty level through the whole camp ground. The site was easy to find even at 10pm in the dark. The stars were incredible and the view was great when we got up in the morning.

FREE ⛺️

This camping area is far enough from the highway that you do not hear or see any of the traffic yet it’s only a 2-3 minute drive. The camping area is slightly slopped and grassy with an open lot with a wooden fence on both sides.

Not much shade but there were 2 or 3 areas with a few trees. This area has a couple fire rings to utilize. Sheep Creek can be a bit windy due to how open it is. The nice part about the wind is it keeps the bugs away. Beautiful views!

Definitely would stay again!

Free and open

This is a great FREE site; however there are no amenities. Bring everything you need. If you don't have a portable toilet, visit the rest area down the road for a last minute bathroom break before settling in for the night.

There is plenty of open, level space. Not a lot of privacy, so during the busy season you'll most likely make friends with your neighbors.
