Great campground near some amazing climbing and hikes. Beautiful sunset views and spots are very specious but fill up by early afternoon. No big rigs! Very noisy and crowded and bathrooms and garbages get overrun quickly.

Nice spot on the river and near quarry

Few miles into Dinosaur NP is a large but spacious and very green camp on the Green River. Friendly camp host, nice bathrooms, and potable water. Camp spots are large and flat.

Walking distance to Angel Fire Bike Park

Small little campground with basic amenities including port-a-potties (well lit at night), garbage cans, and a few picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Nice flat spots…dog friendly. No fires or RVs longer than 19ft. Not reservable so get there early to get primo spot. Walking distance to coffee, shops, and restaurants but still tucked away in quiet enough location.

Large Campground with lake front camping

Great state run campground with options from primitive to full hook ups at great prices. The primitive camping is all along the lake so you can park and walk right in with your canoe or SUP. Playground for the kiddos, lots of areas to explore with the puppers, and plenty of bathrooms and Ramadas available for day use. Boat ramp for those so inclined and good fishing for any anglers out there. The staff running the camp were so enthusiastic and friendly, you’ll want to plan a trip back ASAP.

Reopened gem

Went for a night to get out of the city and found a newly opened campground that had a lot of charm and amenities. The camp hosts are extremely friendly and have lots of tips for the area.

Quick jaunt into the wild

Quick overnighter. Great facilities and ample space

Amenities and surf

We were in the area to watch some friends compete in the longboard contest. They snuck us in the corner despite being full. Lots of bathrooms with super hot showers. Literally across the street from Pelican Brew and rad surf.

Last minute find

We weren’t planning on staying here but a friend’s grandpa suggested it after all the other campgrounds were full in the area. Thanks wildland fires. They have a few spots open the public, all the amenities you could need including a little convenience store. Right on the river for those into fishing. We were greeted by two harbor seals playing nearby the morning we left.

Gorgeous day on the water

Perfect spot to enjoy the Fort and lovely beach. Super dog friendly. Free showers

Great hikes to falls and hot springs

We stayed in campground B where there were plenty of spots, most of them flat with huge areas and great picnic tables and fire pits. Flush toilets and hand dryers were amazing on the cold night. Short walk to the resort hot springs and 3 miles up to the falls. Great spot.

Rainy but gorgeous

Quick one night by the lake. Beautiful area. Enough sun to hike in the morning. Great bathrooms and huge private spots.

Great place on a rainy day

The staff was incredibly friendly. Clean facilities, huge spots, and lots of great trails

Camp, surf, and brew

They squeezed us in and hooked us up with a great price. Hot showers. Close to Pelican Brew.

Quiet and friendly

Great quiet camp spot with great facilities and great trails nearby. Perfect for a day or two

Great option when everything else is full

Great option when everything else is full. We tried to camp near the redwoods, but all the spots were full and the camp post at Jedediah was unhelpful to say the least. Luckily we found this pretty much vacant campground for half the price with great amenities, clean facilities, and access to some awesome water holes on the Smith.

Sleeping under the giants

Made it just in time to catch one of the last open spots. Definitely consider reservations. Staff was super friendly. Nice amenities. Quiet camp despite the fullness

Seals!!

Quick one night. Lots of nice spots. Very clean. Staff was very friendly. We didn't have any issues with the wind.

Large park near beach-ish

Even on a Sunday night, the campgrounds near Lake Tahoe were packed. We found a fairly empty section of DL (the beach sports were all reserved much in advance). For a base to explore it'll work
