This is a fantastic Journey KOA. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We stayed for an evening and were able to get all of our needs fulfilled. The layout was effective for departure in the morning as well. We even walked to the DQ about a 15 minute walk away.
We absolutely love it here. It's been peaceful with lovely sunsets and views. Sitting outside listening to the birds, having a fire, and listening to the creek. The owners are nice as can be. We stayed here for about two weeks and could not have had a better experience. We will be back!
We stayed here a whole week while ducking out of some weather. This one is especially nice if you like some room! We enjoyed a fire two nights and many walks on the nature trail which is part of the property.
We spent 3 weeks here waiting out the weather to the north in February and March. The folks here were super nice and helpful. The sites were all excellent and not on top of one another. We felt like we had everything we needed.
Very nice KOA Journey! Extremely well maintained and clean. We stayed here for 4 nights. You will hear the road 24/7 due to proximity of the interstate but its convenient to run chores or pull during your travel. The sites were fairly spacious for this type of place.
Starlink was great for connectivity in most sites. Some sites are shaded around the edges and would be tough for starlink.
We're staying in the winter for a few nights to visit friends who live outside Pittsburgh. Friendly and cozy spot. They've done a great job in the winter despite the frigid weather by using heat tape on the spigots and leaving lots of information at the office.
We spent 4 nights in two different pull through spots. We loved being able to walk, explore, and breathe in nature right from our RV.
The laundry room was nice, the bath rooms were nice, and the trees and forest were lush! Starlink did great here for us although some sites would have heavy obstructions. We looked at the map and satellite ahead of booking for a good north skyline. We would certainly stay here again. We used this area as a basecamp to explore New Orleans with a 50 minute drive away.
enjoyed out stay quite a bit! Had a fire two nights. Cooked outside and enjoyed the nice weather for this time of year. The hosts were especially nice. Starlink had obstructions with the trees but we put it 20 feet up on a pole to help and it worked well enough for work and Netflix.
The area was beautiful and a short drive for propane, gas, food, and firewood. We spent two days exploring this part of the smokies and this campground made for a great little Basecamp.

The folks at this campground were incredibly nice. The lake was nice to look out and walk around. The north and east side of the campground had poor starlink ability due to low wide tree canopies. The south and west end were much better for starlink.
Well we spent 3 nights here and it wasn't what we had hoped. If you have a large or tall rig RV don't even bother. The trees are the main issue. We have an airstream and even it was starting to scrape getting to and from a site.
I couldn't tell you what the money for the campsite was going towards. It wasn't maintenance for the park that's for sure. The roads are especially rough. The trees need trimming. The posts were falling over.
The pads themselves were nice and there were trash cans everywhere which was also nice. It's a place that could be really lovely if some time, energy, and money were going into it.
We enjoyed our stay at this KOA for a few nights. We were here right before a cold front moved through in the late fall. The views were a true 360 degree experience and we enjoyed a fire as the sun set and we watched the stars come out.
This campground had everything we needed and was very clean.
We only stayed for one night but we enjoyed this location! The surrounding views were fantastic. Walking along the Jemez River was a great evening activity. The sites themselves were nice with picnic tables, grills, and fire pits. There was potable water pumps near the restrooms which we used to ferry water and fill up the RV before heading out.
We liked how spread out the sites were, you never felt on top of your neighbor. The evening we were here, it was less than half full during the first week of November.
Of note, was some sites were great for starlink being set back from some of the trees and further from the river and mesa while others were just okay for starlink.
We spent 3 nights in one of the back in sights along the ridge. It was absolutely beautiful sunrise and sunset views of the lake and surrounding mountains. In the off season or shoulder season the campground had most loops closed down. The loops open were about half full or a little less than half full. We absolutely enjoyed our time here and would recommend it. There were back in and pull through sites available for RVs of all sizes. Starlink was great here as there were few obstructions so internet wasn't an issue. We used the shower house to save on dumping grey water and they were fairly clean. We also went for a hike around the water on multiple occasions.
Our site had water and electric. There was a dump station at the front of the campground entrance which was convenient as well.
This KOA is very nicely run. It's clean and we'll kept. The backdrop of mountains and colors are gorgeous. It's just very cramped. Your door opens right to the neighbors hookups. There are strips of grass between but they hold half of a picnic table.
This is a good spot to hook up and top off for a night or two, or if you're planning on staying inside, or if you're going to head up into the mountains for hiking and leave the rig behind.
Can't comment on the cabins but they seem nice and the amenities areas are very nice as well. I just prefer a little space when I'm camping.
