Ledge A Campground

Within BLM Land — Moab Field Office, Ledge A Campground provides drive-in and walk-in camping along Potash Road. This established campground features gravel sites with picnic tables and fire rings, managed by the Bureau of Land Management with basic amenities including vault toilets and trash service.

The campground sits near a seasonal stream that may require fording during high water periods, particularly around Hunter Canyon. Sites are positioned close to one another with limited privacy, and several sit directly roadside. Recent upgrades have included re-grading of multiple sites and installation of new open-air vault toilets. Morning OHV traffic heads out to explore the surrounding terrain, though overnight activity remains minimal.

Campers report no T-Mobile cell service at the site. The sandy terrain hosts local wildlife including lizards and bats. Geoff M. notes the campground has a "very clean pit toilet and secure dumpster on site" with easy cash payment. Nearby Ledge B and Ledge C offer additional camping options within the same area.

Access requires navigating rough road conditions, and pets are not permitted. Bring cash for the fee payment system and prepare for potential stream crossings depending on seasonal water levels.

Basic camping but beautiful location, clean

This CG must've just had an update. Several sites have been re-graded. It's clean and has new open-air vault toilets. Though quite pretty, it should be noted that sites are quite close to one another and open. Several sites are roadside. We had our pick in early March and landed on site #22, further from the road and a bit of private space.

Amazing views

We rolled into this site in the dark and we were happy to find site A was only occupied by one other group at the far end. We stayed in the first site off Potash Rd and had no traffic except in the morning some OHV heading to explore. The views in the daylight were outstanding and a pleasant surprise. Very clean pit toilet and secure dumpster on site. Payment was easy (with cash!) and would definitely stay here again!

I absolutely adored my experience at Ledge A. From the convenience of having bathrooms to the breathtaking views, the sandy site was teeming with wildlife like lizards, ants, and bats, all amidst the enchanting presence of a nearby stream.

Well laid out site near loads of off road tracks

Ledge A was closed for the season when we drove in around late January. From the road the sites look well maintained by BLM and public land use.  Tidy plots of gravel with picnic tables and fire rings, toilets and dumpsters. No cell signal with T-Mobile. Back down the road if you are coming from Moab near Hunter Canyon when the stream is running you might have to fjord the stream so beware of that.
