Windy and Exposed

Campsite was clean and flat and easy enough to set up. Extreme winds blew our tent over and we ended up sleeping in the car. A little bit of noise from the main road and a spectacular view.

Overlooks a canyon, great views

BEWARE YOU WILL HAVE TO FJORD A RIVER TO ACCESS. We visited in January and the river was flowing but not high enough to cause concern. We saw someone with 2WD go through with no problem but I am not sure what this is like the rest of the year, so worth noting. Ledge D has 8-10 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings overlooking a gorgeous canyon. When the wind blows from the south though, it can be a vortex. One bathroom is available and the Fee station right next door. $20.00 per night, and $10 if you have an interagency pass. BLM and Public Lands Management do an excellent job and keeping these sites tidy.
