Remote scenic campground

This very nice small CG has 10 sites, 4 are actually pull thru. $20/$10 senior, 14d limit. Vault toilets and trash cans but no water. Cell is limited at CG but up the hill at the CG cell is good. Big views at this CG. 9.2 miles of good graded gravel road to access.

Rocky, but peaceful

Went on a mid-November tent camping trip because why not. No one was here, so we had the whole thing to ourselves. Fee envelopes were provided for the $20/night fee. Camp sites seem to be first come, first serve.

Each site had a fire pit and and picnic table. Some site seemed better suited to larger tents than others and one looked like you had to walk down into it (as opposed to being able to have your vehicle readily accessible). Each site has a gravel pad for parking.

Being in the high desert, trees for hammocks are sparse and the rocks and sand are plentiful. Where we ended up trying to pitch our tent appeared sandy, but there was probably a large shelf of sandstone underneath seems how none of the stakes would go in. No problem, plenty of sandstone rocks held our tent down through the wind the proceeded the little rain storm.

There is a vault toilet with a whole bunch of trash cans by it. The toilet didn't smell, there was ample hand sanitizer, and loads of toilet paper.

I have Verizon and my service was pretty spotty, 1 bar most of the time but occasionally I would get 2 bars and sometimes just nothing at all.

There is no wood collecting permitted here, and while I did see what looked like a spigot near the bathroom I didn't investigate it to see if it would have provided water so I would say anything you think you might need you should bring with you.

Most of the way here is paved, but it turns into a gravel road just before the camping area. During our visit the road was in pretty good repair and I think most vehicles would be able to handle it.
