Beautiful place to camp

Great sun rises and sunsets. Not all sites are suitable for a 27 foot trailer but there was enough I that I still had some choices.

Great spots!

Lots of spots that offer seclusion from other campers. Great for dogs! Minutes from goblin valley and little wild horse canyon. You can fill and dump camper at goblin valley state park but it is not free.

Peaceful

Free site even though now part of Goblin Valley SP. Paved road until turn off to sites. The dirt road to the sites was in good condition and no problem for Tahoe pulling 24 ft camper. Stayed at site2. Plenty of room to turn around and mostly flat site. Right next to the rocks which helped block some wind. Very quiet. No services or cell phone coverage for ATT. Very close to state park which sells ice. Rode bikes from site into park for MTB bike trails which are very nice

Great spots!

Many great sites with established fire rings. Most sites are spread out quite well with level ground - or minimal work to level. Many thorns! Quiet and gorgeous night sky views. Close to trailheads and great area overall! No cell service - truly perfect!

Free and Empty! (Usually)

Went here on the weekend of the eclipse and it was very full, but we still found a good spot with great views. I’ve been here other times in the past and it’s usually completely empty. The road is a little bumpy in places, but I’ve seen tons of campers, RVs, sedans and other low clearance cars make it just fine. It was in the 70s during the day and 30s at night. It takes a while to warm up in the morning because the mountains block out the sun until around 9 or 10am in the fall. The sand is very fine and everything you bring will end up with a layer of dust on it

Goblin Valley dispersed camp area

There are three (3) signed areas designated as Goblin Valley St Park dispersed camping area. This is the first one you see on left heading to little Wildhorse TH. Roads seem very rough, some deep sand and could be muddy if wet?, but RVs and TTs seem to get out there. No services, no cell signal. This area used to be BLM but seems Goblin Valley St Park has gobbled it up. See pic of map I got at visitors center (red sections added). Goblin Valley St Park charges $20 per vehicle just to do a day pass. $45-$65 for camping,!! use the free dispersed or the BLM CGs close by.

It was awesome

It is $45 per night to camp at goblin Valley State Park and the free spots to the west of the park are so much better and they are free! We found a great spot with a little hidden canyon that our son put his tent in. We went in the middle of October and it was 40° at night and 75° during the day so we were pretty cold at night but pretty hot during the day. We have a Toyota sienna minivan with front wheel drive and the dirt roads to the campsites were totally passable for us, just go slow

Beautiful Area

It costs $35 to camp in the State Park or $20 entrance fee, but there are so many dispersed spots in the BLM area right outside the state park boundaries.

Before you turn onto the road to take you to the state park there are several wide open flat areas to stay in. This area is pretty busy with boondockers but we found a secluded spot 1/2 mile from the Wild Horse trail head at 38.5815894,-110.7954139. There are several spots that are reachable by RV, but further back you’ll need high clearance and possible 4x4.

The dirt roads off the main road close to the state park are very rutted and washed out. The roads were doable in our 26’ class C but not really worth it when there are so many other easier options.

There is no water here and no trash service so pack in and pack out including your digested food.:)

There are pit toilets at the Wild Horse Trailhead, and there appeared to be some overnight campers at the trailhead as well.

No cell service from any carrier, and our cell booster did not help.

Great, but windy

We wanted to explore Goblin Valley, the next day so we camped here. It was a great spot! Beautiful views! Definitely windy though.

Definitely a popular site, but it's easy to find your own space between natural rock walls.

4WD is a must.

Dispersed camped here because goblin valley sp was full. Very quiet other than someone running their generator. Kinda far from route 24.
