Loud, lack of privacy, but great access to the beach

This is a great campground for families with young kids, but not ideal if you're seeking a quiet escape. I loved the quick walk to the beach and the amazing fossil beds all along the cliffside, that very highly enjoyable. But I found myself pretty irritated back at camp due to how close the sites are to each other and a general lack of etiquette. I didn't see one group of campers in the A loop who didn't have kids, so the vibe was very much that of a playground everywhere including directly in front of my site. A parent played a game with their very loud kid in front of my site that inevitably included throwing a frisbee into the site, and not apologizing for coming into my little area. Basically zero acknowledgement that I existed from any groups around me, I thought it was pretty inconsiderate, but perhaps I was the one out of place. And maybe I got unlucky but that neighbor who came into my site was a gentle parent type who let the kid, probably 7, throw huge temper tantrums without intervention. At one point the kid decided he was annoyed with the sounds of other kids playing down the way so he started screaming to mimic them, which the parent allowed to go on until the kid felt like stopping. I fell asleep to the sound of not one but two separate families playing card games in their tents, sounded like we were all camping together.

Despite no fireworks signage everywhere, families were setting them off on the beach…and in general people were extremely loud, hooting and hollering.

Bathrooms and showers were gross, I could tell they weren't serviced enough for the huge amount of people using them.

Perhaps I was there on an unlucky day, or got a poor site. Perhaps there's better experiences to be had here! But...not coming back unless I really need a place to stay because there's not much option in this area.

Oregon Coast camping in the woods

This is a beautiful campground between two popular towns on the Oregon Coast - Depoe Bay and Newport.  The geology here is amazing - you can have a load of fun looking for fossilized shells and agates at the beach.  The campsites are set among old trees - and are pretty private.  The prime spots along the creek are hard to get so plan ahead.  I always camp in the F circle so I have not had issues with highway noise - but some sites are a little close to the road.  Only 10 miles north of Yaquina Head natural reserve - and the city of Newport.  Great people - happy to help you with firewood and ice and any info about the area. Oregon State Parks do it right!

Fantastic campground and beach

This place is beautiful. Many if not most of the campsites are nestled between large trees, which gives them some privacy. Short walk to the beach and nature trails. Nice educational programs for kids. Firewood conveniently available.

Very nice but busy

A beautiful park among dense forest. Full hookups are available only on the main road into the park so expect lots of traffic. ATT has good signal here, Verizon has poor and T-Mobile has none.

Great location

Campground is very large with over 200 spaces, restrooms very clean as well as showers.

Camp sites are VERY tiny, most tent sites are barley big enough for a tent, picnic tables are so close to fire pits that they could catch on fire, the RV sites are very tight and people have issues getting their trailers into sites. Open year around, very busy park, reservations need to made most time months in advance.

Beach access is very close.

Busy, Loud, Little Privacy

This was one of our stops on a camping trip along 101. The facilities were good, but it was very crowded with almost no privacy. The sites were super close together. The campground was loud as a couple of the loops go right up under the freeway. The beach was ok, but there are many nicer beaches along the Oregon coast.

Amazing site!

Great site with excellent beach access. Clean bathrooms with hot water. Had cell service. Spots were a little tight so be nice to your neighbors because they can hear you! Light sleepers may be bothered by beach, highway & neighborly noise. Busier than I expected for midweek off season so definitely reserve ahead!

Busy, smoky

The bathrooms were great. The privacy was.. okay. But this campground is huge and packed. It had a TON of people, and not the best vibe. Not terrible, but kinda... standoffish? Snobbish? Even the kids were that way to my kids. Because of all the people, there was also a lot of campfire smoke at night. Even in my tent. I had to wear a buff to sleep, because there was just too much smoke in the air for me to comfortably breathe.

We were there in late July, and in case you are a midwestern noob like I was, this beach is not a beach for the kids to swim at or to catch a tan. It was freezing. Not just the water (that I knew), but on the sand, too. And SO windy that sand got into every single oriface and crevice known to man. And forget about trying to eat there, haha! We did have a lot of fun with our big tarp, though. After failing miserably to make some sort of windblock from it, we decided to play with it like a parachute and had some side-stitching belly laughs from the experience.

Great beach side campsite

This is a great site with lots of amenities for families - playground, local hiking trails on campgrounds, beach access, and even an amphitheater for ranger programs when available.

This worked well for us and our little one because there are flush toilets and private showers with door locks. As a mommy who's had a little boy open the door midway through a shower or potty break, this is amazing.

What's great about this site is they recycle!!! Makes it easier to not haul home all your beer bottles.

They do sell ice and wood, when there's no burn ban, here as well so it's super convenient. There's also a small convenient store at the entrance of the campgrounds in case you forget anything, like beer.

This is close to some coastal towns so it's nice to stroll into town for lunch and some ice cream.

Site F31, where we stayed, was super close to the bathrooms so there's quite a bit of noise, but manageable if you're not a super light sleeper. We were surrounded by yurts so tons of light, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the sleeper you are.

Just steps from the beach!

Beverly Beach State Park is located just north of Newport, Oregon.  We found a last minute cancellation here in order to cool off during the dreaded heat dome at the end of June 2021. Everyone else had the same idea so it was very busy!  It's a big campground so if it's peak season, there's a lot of traffic in the loops.  If you prefer quiet, you might consider a site in loop G or H at the back.  We stayed in D11, which was by the creek and trails so that was a plus, but we didn't enjoy the constant traffic.  The easy beach access and cooler temps made up for it though!  I'd recommend it and go back, but would plan for Spring of early Fall when it's a bit quieter.

This campground is super popular and crowded, but everyone is friendly and neighborly so it doesn't feel constricted.

The place is well maintained, minute walks to the beach and has everything you need right there.

And if you walk north on the beach 45 minutes you can view Devils Punch bowl, learn to surf, get a fresh cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Misty Magical on the Coast

I spent a VERY wet and rainy New Year's Eve here. Huge campground. Beautiful area in the woods away from the wind. There's a nice trail along the creek that great for walking dogs.

The campground is huge. I went out at dusk and almost got lost finding my way back to my site. Be sure to bring a light. I didn't use the bath house or showers. No cell reception in the campground, but some up by the bridge.

This was a wonderful place to ring in the New Year. Here's to 2021!
