Chris is establishing a couple of sites on his private property and getting organized. Simple and just off the road, but quiet. Chris is friendly and reachable by phone. A short 100 yards to a rushing creek. We needed a last minute spot during Memorial Day weekend and Chris set us up. Now showers, flat gravel site with pull through between hookups and picnic table platform.
Beautiful, quiet, shaded, level sites with plenty of space between. Great trails and a short scenic road, plus some nice open spaces. Bath facilities are convenient, but seem old and marginally maintained. Great stargazing.
A bit lower key than most KOA’s (that’s a positive for me). Few kids, and VERY clean bathrooms and showers with appropriate hooks, dry shower entries (probably because they had great shower curtains). Sites had reasonable spacing and some shade. Nice pool.
Not a lot of privacy between sites, but plenty of room. Full hookups with convenience store adjacent. Bathrooms and showers were cleanest and roomiest we experienced in 2.5 month travels. Staff was friendly. Concrete pads adjacent to gravel drive through, and fire rings adjacent to site. Picnic tables and garbage cans at each site. Pretty close to road, but traffic was light and almost not noticeable. A few flies, but generally not buggy. Higher elevation above Deadwood, so a bit cooler.nice wooded view on one side. Generally a smaller, quiet camp. A hidden gem.
Big campground with sites nicely shielded from each other with foliage. Lots of shade, full hookup and clean showered and bathrooms. Beach access is close the lower the site section alphabetically (A-H). Short walk under arch bridge to the beach. Full hookup.
Full hookup at site, great bike trails and beach access. Convenient to Astoria, while feeling more remote. Camp sites fairly separated and shaded/wooded, showers and baths reasonably clean and maintained. Several sites have “high” dump receptacles, making drainage from lower units (Ours is a Class B sprinter) a bit of work.
Gorgeous, shady site with clean bathrooms. One pay shower for camp. And one mens and one women’s bathroom. Sites have generous spacing. Somewhat buggy (mostly mosquitoes). Very nice camp hosts/owners. Shower had some standing water.
Convenient to town, easy to find with nice elevated views of lakes and valley. No hook-ups, or facilities. Quiet, private and level site for rv’s and tents. Host was gracious, helpful and offers vineyard tour, tastings and sells a Syrah and Grenache. Photo is from site #1 at dusk.
Clean and fairly private campground with great hosts and several sites on l creek and lake. Good roads to park. Clean bathrooms. Recommend sites 36 and 37 on creek.
The last 3.5 miles is overgrown with little overhead clearance. Our sprinter van was constantly getting tree scrapes on top. One + lane with sections very tight. Campground was nice and secluded with old vault toilets. River/creek was not close to site, and trail was poorly marked and overgrown. I was unable to actually find trail after 30 minutes. Site is best for autos/suv access for tent campers. Maybe smaller trailers. Site was pretty but buried in woods … very secluded. I believe the trail would access nice views if I could’ve found it. Best for those looking for remote feel. Two other campers there when we were there. To us, not worth the time and poor access drive.
Sites have good separation. Potable water taps and vault bathrooms are very clean. Higher elevation for cooler Summer evenings. No hookups. Decent cell signal. Can hear road noise at a distance, but not too loud.
