Stewart Creek Park Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Managed by the city and set within Lewisville Lake, Stewart Creek Park Campground is a small municipal facility that works best as a quick overnight stop rather than a multi-day destination. Waterfront sites sit directly on the lake's edge, making them a practical choice for paddlers with a kayak or canoe. No shade covers several of those sites, which makes summer visits uncomfortable. No pets are allowed. Campers looking for tent campgrounds near Lewisville Lake will find additional options across the area. Nearby amenities include toilets, a dump station, and trash service. Visit in cooler months to avoid exposed, sun-heavy sites along the water.

A convenient overnight

This is a small, city-owned park recommended if you live in the Plano/Frisco/The Colony area. It is not recommended as a destination for someone looking to get out into nature for a few days. It was cold and quite breezy when we were there, so there were very few occupied campsites. We camped right on the edge of the water. These sites would be great for those with a kayak or canoe. There is no shade for several sites along the water, which would make them very undesirable for summer. It met our expectations for getting away for an overnight with the pup. I believe it has a volleyball area and horseshoe pits. http://www.thecolonytx.gov/Depts/PARD/StewartCreekRateInfo.html
