Part of the Army Corps of Engineers' Lewisville Recreation Area, Pilot Knoll Park Campground sits on the edge of Lake Lewisville with large back-in sites featuring 50/30 amp hookups, water connections, fire pits, and picnic tables. Many sites have direct lake access for launching a kayak or SUP, and a boat launch is available in the day use area. Tall trees provide shade across the grounds. No pets are allowed. Sites run around $30 per night midweek, and reservations require creating an account through the online system. Nearby, Sycamore Bend Park and Hickory Creek COE Campground give paddlers and anglers additional bases along the same stretch of water.
