Convenient Overnight Stop

We always stop in Amarillo when we travel from the DFW area to visit our son in Colorado. We've tried just about all of the Campgrounds/RV Resorts in Amarillo. Since Amarillo is basically just a resting place and there's not really any other perks, we just want a safe, quiet place to park over night. I couldn't find much as far as reviews online(it's relatively new), so we were a little leery about booking an overnight stay.

However, I'm glad we did and I would 100% stay again. Booking was easy. Check-in was easy. It was super convenient to not have to unhook, and to walk over to Love's to grab a quick pizza for supper. There was a nice little dog park. There was a corn hole game and a covered picnic table. The RV area is separate from the fueling area and truck area. We never heard any highway noise or parking lot noise over night in our RV(A/C was running...it would probably not be as quiet if you were to have your windows open).

Our site was pull through. It had water and electric. It was very level and easy to get into and out of. I do wish that their price was a little lower. On our return trip, we stayed down the road at Oasis, and only paid a few dollars more, but had access to a swimming pool, game room, laundry room, etc. But it's a good option, and I would stay again.

Great Mid-way Stop Between DFW area and Colorado

Amarillo is a nice halfway point when traveling to Colorado from the DFW area. Over the years, we've stayed at various RV Resorts/Campgrounds there. Oasis is comparably priced to the others, but being on the outskirts of Amarillo, it was much quieter and we felt safer.

They have a beautiful swimming pool. There is a clubhouse that had a video game and a basketball game for the kids. There were puzzles, books, a kitchen area. It was very nice, quiet, roomy. They did have a hot tub, but at the time we were there, it was not in working order.

They have a good sized, fenced dog park. There are dog waste bags and receptacles pretty much at the end of every street. The streets in the RV Resort are named so finding our campsite was very easy. The bathrooms were plentiful throughout the Resort. Each contained a private shower.

We only stopped for a quick overnight to break up our drive home from Colorado. We didn't have to unhook. The sites were pretty level. We stayed in site 41. It worked fine for us, but I probably wouldn't choose that particular site again. It is right next to the restroom/laundry facility(which was very convenient), but our slide was on that side. Had it been busy, we would have heard bathroom traffic all night. But there are so many restrooms, this was not an issue. Also, the placement of the sewer hook up was out of reach. We just pulled up and dumped when we left.

There was a food truck there when we arrived, which was convenient. We bought our supper from there and it was nice not having to cook, or unhook to go somewhere to eat. That being said, the food from the truck was nothing to write home about. But they were friendly.

Big RV Park with Cement pads

This park was on the west side of Amarillo, very near The Cadillac Ranch. This park is as close to 5 stars as I’ve camped in so far. Nice big pull thru spaces with all the full hook ups. Several laundry rooms dot the park. It looked like they had a swimming pool, but it was not open. The office had a few supplies. Ice and ice cream were my favorites. We only stayed one night, but I would definitely stay there again next time we come this way.

Clean, well maintained, and great for a stop-over on a road trip!

We live in Dallas and getting out of Texas is always the longest part of our trips. This campground is a great stop on the first (or last leg) of trips. Super clean, easy to use laundry, and right off of the interstate. The gym and pool look nice (but we haven't used them).

The Perfect Oasis

We stayed her at the beginning of a trip, and I’m worried it may have spoiled us for every campground we’ll stay in. By far one of the nicest spots we’ve visited! We got here late, but they had left a map showing exactly how to get to our site. Each spot is paved, so no leveling needed. They have bath/laundry buildings spread throughout the site, which was incredibly convenient. Everything was spotless! They also had a pool, fitness center, etc. that we didn’t use. Not a lot of shade if that’s important to you, but really am A+ spot.

Clean and Pristine Parking Lot

This campsite is quite new and it is amazingly clean. There are full hookups with plenty of room for larger rigs, and the whole park is very flat. Ideal for a comfortable place to park your rig. I gave 4 stars because it really is a parking lot - no scenery to speak of, and almost no greenery. But the restrooms are very clean and nice, and there is a pool and laundry. It is also convenient to the highway.

Very nice

We arrived late without reservations. Available sites were posted on the office door as well as a notice that said the water wasn't working and they were trying to get it fixed. The place was lovely with several amenities we didn't use. Quiet. I'm sure most people were there for long-term stays. By morning the water was working although pressure was extremely weak.--Hard to tell if that was the norm. Very easy access off of I-40 on the west side of town, which was perfect for us.

Clean and friendly

Very clean. Perfect for big rigs. Lots of class A's here with tows. Wide spots. Excellent cell and wifi service. There is noise from the road. You can see it from the campground. However, it's not too bad. Easy pull through spots.. They have a nice dog run and huge grassy area for dogs. Very pet friendly. However, all the dog grass is on the west side of the park. So if you are on the east side, it can be a bit of a treck taking Fido to go potty at 11:00 at night. There is no grass at the campsite. However, I will take a bit of a track to nice grass over a short walk to a weeded bushy area any day.

It’s okay

This was a one night stop for us. Which this seems like a decent one nighter park, wouldn’t stay longer than that.

Pros: -Concrete (level) Pads -Full Hook ups -Easy access from interstate

Cons: -It’s like a parking lot -Bathrooms/trash/dog park are all a really long walk unless you happen to be parked near them. And the way it’s laid out you can’t walk to the amenities unless you walk up and down the rows or walk through other people’s area (no paths). -Long term stay and short term all mixed together, so people’s sites are full of junk everywhere -Bathrooms are sooo muggy

Comfortable safe overnight stop

We went in the winter so can’t comment on the pools or anything like that. But it was fine for a quick overnight stop. We got a AAA discount which was nice. Checked in late which was no problem at all and the staff was accommodating. It did smell a bit like cows so I guess there’s probably a feed lot somewhere nearby.

The site was HUGE and flat and paved in concrete. A reasonably clean bathroom and laundry room was adjacent in one of the several restrooms scattered around. Men’s room closest was closed. There’s a small gift shop up front with Texas themed items and a few rv supplies. It’s also only a very short ride to the Cadillac Ranch.

It’s one of those parks where all the campers are close to each other and lined up in long rows and of course Amarillo is flat flat flat with few trees so it isn’t very picturesque. I think they have well over 100 sites. I spotted many full time residents.

Would I stay here again? Possibly. It isn’t a destination all by itself but it was very convenient.

Quick easy access with great staff

Quick and easy access in and out. There’s a brand new loves opening in a couple days within walking distance. Small fenced pet run with larger pet area next to it for leashed dogs. In terms of a one night stay, 5/5 for the price. Longer term stays a little lacking in the individual spot ammendities like grass and trees.

Best campground for large rigs on route 40

Large, clean, safe and quiet campground. Our cyclone 4270 and truck total length is just over 60’ making it a challenge in every KOA we have ever been to. I added a note in our online reservation and unlike the KOA’s we visited Oasis RV Resort checked our rig size and hook up locations and suggested a new site at the gate.

I opted to up grade to one of their big rig sites and could not be happier with the stay. Amarillo is wide open and flat so don’t expect shade trees (if your from the north east like us) but since we stopped in November, scorching days were not an issue.

When traveling route 40 Oasis RV Resort location will factor into our planning for overnight stops.

Best place we’ve stayed at

We travel for work and usually stay for months at a time. We stayed here while my husband worked near by in a wind farm. The place was always well kept. They pretty much have everything you need. Pool, two hot tubs (one for family and other for adults) they are kept separate so it does accommodate families as well as single travelers. They have washer/dryer rooms && only $1 wash/dry also multiple bath houses. WiFi, cable, dog fenced area, kids playground, and game room. They also sell food and other items in the office. During working hours there was always multiple people in the office. Whenever we had an issue they were always on top of it. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Price isn’t bad either for monthly. We pay more now & all we have is a rv spot no amenities.

Great stop through!

It appears every site here is a pull-through. Very level sites with full hookups. Apparently there is a game room, laundry, pool, dog run, gym, store, and spa but we were here during the coronavirus shutdown so nothing was open. The grounds are well kept and very clean. I will note (although I’m not sure if it’s typical here or not), but it’s so windy here we weren’t even able to go outside.

Convenient location passing thru area. Very friendly staff, very clean. Full hook ups. Many pull through sites. There is a Love’s just up the road, could fuel up before getting back on the road and run up for any conveniences. Far enough from highway that you didn’t hear the noise. Large area for the dogs. Maybe a little pricey for an overnight stay, but if you want clean, easy, safe and convenient this is the place.
