The Silos at Canyon RV Park

Be aware, there are lots of gunshots nearby. The owner is well aware of this and will tell you they are“controlled” and welcome to Texas (yes, that was her response). This native Texan (born and raised here) is very aware of guns and gunshots but would like to know before I rent a spot that shooting may occur. Stayed one night and had to leave shortly after daylight due to dogs freaking out over the shooting. Also, the“dog park” is total dirt, no grass, and the gate is useless since there’s a gap between it and the fence thats big enough for my German Shepherd to go through. After reading my review, the owner posted a response that sounds apologetic. It's a shame that was not the response I got when I reported the gunshots. All she said to me was"welcome to Texas" and"I could report it to the sheriff but they would most likely laugh". What she should do is post in her description of the place that there may be gunshots coming from nearby. She also said in her reply"we do want to gently remind all guests that German Shepherds are listed among the restricted breeds under our park rules and are not permitted on the property." Funny, when I called her to make the reservation and told her I had dogs, she asked what breed and I replied German Shepherd and miniature Schnauzer, she said nothing about GS being prohibited. If I had made the reservation online and she had known nothing about the breeds I had with me, she could honestly post that comment. However, she is being very deceptive with her reply.
