Big Texan RV Ranch

Large spot, very friendly staff, free shuttle to The Big Texan restaurant. We weren't sure how long we were going to stay due to weather systems along our route. We weren't sure able to extend our stay daily as needed.

We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this place is! Very nicely laid out and easy to find your space. We called the same day and were able to get in. They have a cute gift store to grab anything you might need or have forgotten, or to pick up something to remember your visit! Loved all the cool woodcarvings around the property it gives it a cozy vibe! The have very nice cabins to rent if you’re not driving a RV. You can even stay in a covered wagon!!! They offer bathhouses, laundry, indoor heated pool, a bounce pad and even a complimentary ride to the steakhouse down the road! The steakhouse is a MUST! Very good prices and a ton of food!

It was nice grounds, dog decent sized, clean bathrooms, breakfast bagels and coffee. We enjoyed our short stay.

We were greeted with Texan big hospitality, offered a free ride to a steak restaurant and escorted to our site. They even offer free coffee and bagels in the morning and free cowboy boot pins! The staff could not be more welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the indoor pool. Cadillac ranch is minutes away. This RV park exceeded our expectations. Slight highway noise is my only negative comment.

Just passing through for a night but such a great place for families. My kids LOVED the bounce pad.

We stayed here mainly to take advantage of the free “limo” ride to the steakhouse. We didn’t arrive early enough to use the small indoor pool (closed at seven) and while my kids were super excited to get on the blob and bounce around, the weather wasn’t great. The actual campsite was fine - level, hook-ups all good and check- in was fairly smooth (you have to wait to be escorted to your site). I would say this is a bit more geared toward the older folks - my older son was chastised for touching a metal gas pump in the office (literally just touched) and both times we used the limo to the steakhouse, seniors walked right in front of us to get into the car even though we were clearly waiting (and it only leaves every hour). It’s a fairly crowded campsite, but the location is very central to Amarillo attractions and right off I-40 so not a bad place to spend a night.

Good stop for a night or two as your traveling through Amarillo

Park is very clean and staff is very nice and accommodating. Fist site was next to a rv with loud kids and dog. Staff moved us with no problems. Facilities are very nice.

I would stay here again just because of the staff working there. They are friendly, helpful and just nice people. 

Full hook ups, were escorted to site after checking in. Site was level, able to setup our camp stove and eat outside without feeling like other campers were right on top of you.

The showers are great, large you have a raised area with a chair to put items while you shower, good water pressure. Large sink area also.

3 separate dog runs based on size of your dog.

Great place to relax after a long day of traveling.

Everything is great here, nice pool, good WiFi and hookups. Very friendly people.

Basic RV park, clean and convenient off expressway. Staff was nice and we were escorted to our site. Site was gravel but fairly level. Bathroom and shower was clean. Two dog parks were clean.

Great spot for a layover day while headed west. Staff is friendly, park is very clean, and sites while simple and stark are quite wide. Given the flat and gravel terrain, it isn’t quite private but you’re not on top of your neighbor by any means. Great spot to stay!

The park has all the amenities one could ask for. Pool, hot showers, full hook-ups and family friendly atmosphere. 

WIFI is PAINFULLY slow and their router is too weak to manage that many connections. 

When a blizzard hit, the entire park lost power and we weren't notified or assured of anything. We couldn't reach anyone at the office for 8 hours the power was out. 

Otherwise, a great place.

Very organized! They even called and gave me instructions of where to find my map and site info, since we were coming in late. Right off the highway, so some noise, but also comes with the convenience of popping in and out. Clean sites and easy pull throughs.

Needed a little place for the night. Check in was easy and we were escorted right to our pull thru site. Temperature was supposed to drop well below freezing that night and the staff made sure we were prepared. Perhaps it was the time of year but the office closed pretty early. They do offer a complimentary shuttle service to the big steak house nearby. I guess if you eat the 72oz steak it’s not safe to drive?

This campground is very easy to get to from I-40. Check in was very efficient…they even called me to see when we’d be arriving in case we needed self check-in.

Three nice dog parks. We stayed in a pull through site, and it was all gravel, but very easy to get to. Sites were a little too close for my liking.

We only booked one night as we are passing through and wanted to do the Big Texan Steakhouse. Park is big, clean, and staff is very nice. A little road noise from the I 40 but that never bothers us.

I was impressed. Going forward, this will be the paragon that I use to evaluate other campgrounds.

Pulled in without a reservation for a one night stay. All pull-thru lots were booked. They allowed us to stay in a back-in monthly rental. Site has mostly long term RVs. Lots are gravel but really level. Have ok cell service. They offer wifi but it is not the best. Famous Big Texan does deliver food to your RV. Sites have full hookups plus cable. Would only stay here again if I was driving late and needed a place just to rest.

Big Texan was easy to get into and out of.  Staff is very friendly and helpful to find and land in your site.  Lots of pull throughs.  Do not miss the Bix Texan steakhouse just down the road, with dropoff and pickup service from the RV park.  It is a Texas tradition.

This campground is great looks like it’s lots of fun in the summer. We only stayed 1 night but we did have a limo pick us up and take us to the steak house. Very nice staff full hook ups heated indoor pool.

We were just passing through, I wanted a good steak and a rest, we got both. Very convenient easy off and on to 40. The steakhouse delivers to campsite, so that was perfect. I didn't have to disconnect, nice level sites. Got early start back on journey next morning. We look forward to stopping here again! No I didn't order the roast, just a quality steak cooked perfectly. Great job, Big Texan!

Stayed one night. Grounds are well kept. Staff very helpful. Level gravel parking spots with full utilities. Ours was pull through. 3 fenced dog areas. They are small but fine. Since during Covid did not use facilities so can’t report on them. Fairly large park so can walk dogs around on leash. Not a ton of grass but sufficient. Near interstate so some noise but not terrible. Also heard a train. Overall nice spot to stay.

We stopped for a quick overnight stay on our way to Yellowstone. It has big spots that are pull through and the greatest thing was the Big Texas Steakhouse delivered!! We didn’t get in until 9:00 and they deliver all the way until 10:00.
