We are partial to this campground as this is where we lived and started hiking/trail running. Now it is a great spot to camp when we come back to the area to visit our family. The sites are spacious and level. The bathroom/shower are clean and during the winter, they are extremely warm. We have stayed here during Thanksgiving, Christmas and for a race during the winter and it was great! The campground is so close to so many great hiking trails, playground, and picnic areas. Downtown Huntsville is a quick 5-10 minute drive. One downfall is the WiFi and cell service is not very good at all. I get better service on the trails hiking than at the campground.
We love Fall Creek Falls as it is very close to our home and it is a beautiful state park. We stayed in site A21 on a crowded weekend, however it didn’t feel crowded to us. A21 is a great site with plenty of space for our teardrop and screen room. It is a very short walk to the bathroom/showers and also very close to the playground which was great for us with a toddler. The site was well shaded and fairly level. The bathrooms are older and could use some updating but they are clean and serve the purpose. The park actually has good WiFi in most areas, a store nearby with many grocery items, and some great hiking trails. Fall Creek Falls is a favorite for our family!!
We stayed at Site E14 during a weekend in July. The campground is in an excellent location, just 5-10 minutes away from downtown Blowing Rock and of course it’s right on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway! Our site was peaceful and shaded, easily fit our 14 foot teardrop with screen room and our truck. After walking through the other loops, I preferred ours as it was not as crowded and quieter. Great access to trails, Price Lake trail and Boone Fork trail access is within minutes. Our site was very shaded. The picnic table seating is extremely low to the ground so if you have mobility issues that could be an issue. The bathrooms were old but clean and served the purpose. Overall, I recommend this campground it is so peaceful and perfect location. We can’t wait to come back!!
