The property was renovated and brought back to life in 2019 after years of neglect. During the renovation 4-20'W x 40'L back-in RV sites were added. Columbus RV Park and Campground

    Great for passing through

I called in for a camping spot late in the evening and the manager said No problem! This campground seems primarily set up for long term camper trailers. I was looking for a tent spot and arrived late in the evening. The host was very welcoming and let me park up near the bathroom. Since I was by myself it worked out great for me. The campground and the bathrooms were clean. Would Definently stop by again .

    Beautiful and well-maintained campsite

Beautiful and well-maintained campsite. We have been to this RV Resort a few times and have NEVER been disappointed. They literally have thought of everything from daily trash pick-up to refilling propane tanks. All of the staff are absolutely wonderful and very friendly(professional). Every time we are in the area, we will be booking with Hidden Creek RV Resort. Highly recommended!!

    Thousand Trails Colorado River

Beautiful park-like setting in the river!

This campground is one of the nicest Thousand Trails Collection campgrounds we have ever stayed at! They have large FHU sites with 30/50amp and beautiful views! The park is currently being completely overhauled with new sites, hook-ups, roads, community center, offices and more. We can’t wait to come back and see it when it’s completed! 👍🏻😬 They have nice amenities such as mini golf, pool, boat launch, pickleball, basketball, trails, etc. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it if you are in the area.

    Clean, FUN, Family place

First time at Iron Horse RV resort, won't be our last!  The grounds are clean and the spaces are wide.  They have a beautiful pavilion and a lazy river.  Saturday night (for the Labor Day weekend) they brought in a band - they were wonderful.  There is a cute boutique on site with adorable clothes, boots and accessories.  Don't miss that!  We had a medical emergency that forced us to leave the RV an additional night and they worked with us and checked in with us just like FAMILY.

    Thousand Trails Colorado River

    Quiet Getaway

Yes, there's not a lot of spaces between spots like there are in most state parks, but the residents are quiet. We had space D25 which is on the outside of the big loop by the river and boat ramp. Lots of space on the door side to the next unit, and nature behind us.

When they talk about deer being everywhere, they ain't kidding. And watch where you walk in the grass, the deer left presents.

Very friendly staff, and the couple of other campers we talked to were very nice. Being a Thousand Trails property, there was no loud music or rowdy camps.

They have free WiFi. It's reception is spotty, sometimes great, sometimes bad. Supposed to be better up by the activity center.

AT&T reception is LTE and varies by location and time. I had 1 bar to 4 bars at the same spot throughout the day.

    Lake Bastrop North Shore Park

Lake Bastrop + Amenities + Peace

Lake Bastrop North Shore Park Park is managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority. There’s a office at the entrance were one can pay your admission fee. Or if you arrive late, there is a self paying station that’s available 24 hours 7 days a week. At the small office one may buy ice, drinks and souveniers.

This campground has a number of sites for RVs with full hook ups. There is a sewage dump station in the center of the park. Also, there are traditional car camping spots with drive up parking spaces, picnic tables, fire rings, grills and water and electrical hook-ups. There are restroom facilities are scattered throughout the park. At the far end of the park there are campgrounds for primitive camping. These have more basic amenities - there is an open space, community fire pit, community grill and some picnic tables.

Not too far from the primitive campground there is a trail that leads to a nice view of Lake Bastrop. There’s also a community space in the center of the park which has, picnic tables, a fishing pier, open water access and an area that is roped off for swimming.

This park is distinguished from the Lake Bastrop South Shore Park because it tends to attract campers with more basic needs. I would say that there are fewer families, less crowds and more peace and quiet.

I found the staff to be nice and friendly.

    Blue Mule Winery

Great little spot in Texas for an overnight.

We discovered Blue Mule Winery on Harvests Hosts, but it seems anyone can make a reservation to stay there by emailing Ash at least 24 hours in advance. It is also courtesty you visit the winery, sample and buy your favorites wines. they also have fresh eggs for sale.

Along with overnight RV / Travel Trailer camping, they  have a duplex cabin that you can rent through Air BNB.

This little family farm is well maintained, super clean and  not only do they have IMO some of Texas' best local wines, there's also Alpaca Llama's and Donkeys. They even gave us a bag of snacks to feed them (FYI the Llama's like to have their neck rubbed). The frozen wine slushies are really good.

Camping is in a small field in between the winery, and the Llamas.  We found a perfectly level spot. I would say a max of 4 could fit in here comfortably.

This is dry camping / boon-docking only. Pack out whatever you take in, including trash.

If you're traveling to Austin, TX like us, this an amazing place to stay overnight. be sure to get up and watch the sunrise.

The entire family is incredibly friendly. A must stop for sure.

    Wonderful for an overnight stay!

Stayed here one night- Memorial Day Evening- as we were making our way thru Texas. Liz at check-in was super friendly and helpful. We stayed on site D4. FHU. Level. WiFi was the best yet! No issues with this campsite. Trees stringed with lights for nice ambience. Road traffic noise did not bother us. There was a nice off leash dog area. However, they had received a lot of rain and it was too muddy for us to use this trip. I would recommend this RV park! We camped at Whispering Oaks RV Park in a Motorhome.

    Beautiful park with great amenities

This park is on the Colorado River and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Large, level sites with full hookups. Two large dog parks and walking trails by the pretty river. A great Mexican restaurant is within walking distance from the park.

    Thousand Trails Colorado River

A TT campground which was comfortable

The river is a beautiful site no doubt. The campgrounds are older and could use a bit of updating. We were close to the river. Was a bit disappointed as when booking through TT website, it said full hook ups when we arrived, only Water and Electric were available. ( reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars }Not a big issue as we were only there for a couple nights and as full-timers, we have a system down pat where our rig could stay off a sewer line for at least 7-10 days. All in all, its a nice place to come and relax, not too much to do if your a family. Clean restrooms and showers.

    Stonewall Motor Lodge

    Great spot outside of Fredericksburg!

Great, quiet spot behind the Stonewall Motor Lodge. 4 RV spots pretty close together, but nicely shaded and beautiful. We stayed in spot #4 which was closest to the road and had the most space, privacy and tree cover. Gravel spots with full hookups. Decent but sometimes spotty Wi-Fi from the motel. Large open green space with trees and roaming wild Axis deer behind the spots, with great outdoor sitting area and a unique barn with tv and games. Would definitely stay again if we were passing through!

    Magnolia Oaks RV Park

    Extremely nice!

We stayed here on a recommendation and it was a great one in deed.  We were only here a couple of nights for a short visit with friends down the street.  It is behind gates and the service was very friendly and welcoming.  We had a back in full service site requiring no leveling and easy connections. Our site was cement surfaced and had artificial grass area of our chairs and BBQ. They have small pond you can walk around and a covered patio / dock over the pond. The residents are a mix of long term and overnighters.  We had a great end spot with a small tree area making it a pleasant and private stay for us.  If in the area this is a must visit park. WiFi worked great.

The only odd thing to note, is that this site requires electronic signing of a PDF to agree to the park rules (noise, music, foul language, site cleanliness,  ... found it a little extreme).  The odd thing is even though others have signed assumingly the same agreement, one camper had his music blaring for about 5 min ... maybe upset they were enforcing the stringent 'no loud music' policy?? Not sure

    Great location for ShuffleFest

    The Western RV Park

    Behind The Western Steakhouse& Dancehall

    9524 Highway 6 Loop S

    Navasota, TX 77868

    936-306-3821

    westernrv@yahoo.com

    Type of Park: Private-owned

    Check In:? Check Out:?- Call

    Site#32- Back-In

$45 per night (3% fee for credit card)

    Water

    20/30/50 amp

    Sewer

    Site Pad: Concrete

    👍🏻 Pros:

    • Very wide sites. Can park the tow vehicle next to the rig
    • Brand new- all new electric, water, sewer
    • Sites are level
    • No need for rugs and such

    👎🏻 Cons:

    • It's a big concrete parking lot with hookups- nothing special beyond that
    • The sites were wide, but there's only about a foot or so of space between sites
    • No picnic tables or grills
    • Grass only around the edges of the lot (Keep that in mind for pets)
    • Some spots around the edges had a tiny bit of shade

    📝 Park Notes:

Large, bright light poles and the lights are on all night, hard to tell when the sun is coming up and not just the lights. But no stumbling around in the dark.

It was nice being at The Western Club with friends for the ShuffleFest weekend event and not having to drive 45 minutes back and forth. The RV park is directly behind the Steakhouse& Dancehall.

It is a great spot to stay if you're going to the Western Club. It wouldn't be my first choice for a vacation destination though. It is right off the feeder road for Highway 6, but the road noise isn't terrible.

    Bastrop State Park Campground

    Disappointed

I’ve lived in Austin for over 20 years and camped at a lot of state parks in that time.  I’ve never camped here because it’s so close to my house I never bothered. I ended up booking because all my favorite parks were already booked up. The best part of my stay was the clean bathrooms and full hook ups. My site was very small and full of stickers. Everytime the dogs went out to pee they tracked in stickers. I must have pulled 25 or more out of my feet and theirs! Absolutely no trees for shade either so aside from hiking a few trails, we were banished inside the RV. The map had shown some bikes trails but I found out they were from the old golf course and fires had wiped out all the trees. This was all just very depressing.  In my opinion, this park is only good for an occasional overnight stay on your way somewhere else.

Also, the best campsites by the creek were all closed.
