    USA RV Resorts Marina Bay

    Central location in Kemah, TX

New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. All are back in sites with sewer, city water, 20/30/50 amp power, cable TV, and WiFi included. There’s a nice club house for parties, laundry facilities, a pool next to the bayou, fishing and kayaking/canoeing in the bayou and a friendly staff that keeps the park clean and cared for.

    South Main RV Park

Good for proximity to NRG stadium

My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.

    Stella Mare RV Resort

Close to Galveston but still quiet

Month long stay, $730, water, 50 amp. End of October/beginning of November the park is booked out as well as during warmer months. Half of the facilities washers and dryers didn't work. Staff is great about communicating lawn days and other news for long term guests. Trash valet and 2 free parking spots. 2 dogs parks, one for large and another for smaller dogs.

    Southlake RV Resort

    Nice clean park

The park is VERY clean and also quiet! It’s close to everything so thats a major plus. However it does have A LOT of rules. Also, a lot of long term residents live here. The back in spots are a little tight so if you’re not great at backing in just get a pull through. The facilities are immaculate . It’s been worth the price so far.

    Houston East RV Resort

    Beautiful Landscaped Sites

Ok these are all premium sites, resort is easy off and on i-10. Gated resort, nice sites, roads are all nice concrete, with concrete parking pads for RV and or tow vehicles. The sites are nicely landscaped, grass, trees, picnic tables, full hookups, include cable and wifi. It is located right off and beside i-10, so there is road noise, but everything food, restaurants, shopping, is all nearby. It's a great stop if traveling i-10 passing through. Oh they also have covered RV sites should you want to beat some of that sunshine off your rig in summer heat. There is a small pool that is nice, and a lake behind campground so one row of sites has lake views. We just took a pull through site under the canopy of trees, it's very nice!

    Rayford Crossing RV Resort

    Well Managed and Manicured

We had to return our travel trailer to the dealership for some warranty work and wanted to have one last little getaway before handing it over. We opted to stay somewhere in the vicinity of the dealership, and this campground had an opening. So, we booked one of the last remaining sites and hit the road!

Located in a suburban area north of Houston, the campground was very easy to find. It was nestled among nice suburban homes but still close to the amenities of a suburban city. We arrived after the employees left the front desk, so they instructed us to pick up our materials at the front office. We immediately noticed how well maintained this campground was. We easily found Site 21, a standard back in site. The sites are all concrete and level with a yard of grass and full hookups, which we really appreciate. We were surprised that our site didn’t have a picnic table like we thought, but we probably could have called to request one (wasn’t a huge issue in this July Texas heat).

This campground is more like a residential area. We noticed that many vehicles were gone early on a weekday morning. Many of the “campers” had potted plants and other items that indicated they were long-term occupants. There were many rules for the campground such as no items allowed on the grass or under RVs and no trash cans at sites, but none of these were unreasonable. Staff was visible throughout the day, often maintaining the grounds and collecting trash at each site (trash collection is each morning). It was extremely quiet, clean, and manicured.

Would we visit this campground again? Yes, if we plan to visit the Houston area for business in the future. We prefer the forest and the solitude that it affords, but this is a nice place to stay if you have business in the area. Rayford Crossing has amenities that may appeal to families with children such as a playground, beautiful pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, horse shoes, and fishing. The nice paved roads and sites and the dog park were nice as well. Our only complaints would be the price and lack of privacy, but I guess that’s to be expected in an RV resort near a major US city like Houston. Basically, it served our purpose.

Guide to Kemah

RV sites near Kemah, Texas offer convenient access to both Galveston Bay and urban amenities. Located on the western shore of Galveston Bay approximately 20 miles southeast of Houston, the area maintains average summer temperatures of 90°F with high humidity. Gulf breezes often provide natural cooling for campers, though they can also bring salt spray that may coat vehicles and equipment at campgrounds closer to the water.

What to do

Fishing access: Several RV parks provide dedicated fishing areas with minimal travel required. At Bolivar Peninsula RV Park, "you can fish and crab in" the large lake on property. The park remains accessible year-round with 130 sites available.

Beach activities: Many campgrounds offer direct or nearby beach access for swimming, sunbathing, and collecting shells. A visitor at Bolivar Peninsula notes that for "10.00 you can tent camp on the beach and your pass is good for the season. The RV park is great, but camping on the beach was an awesome exercise."

Local entertainment: The Kemah area features numerous dining and entertainment options within walking distance of some campgrounds. At USA RV Resorts Marina Bay, campers appreciate that "the location in Kemah is walking distance to several good restaurants and musical entertainment" while offering easy access to Clear Lake Shores, "a bayside community with boats" where visitors can "see the sunset over the bay."

What campers like

Pool amenities: Multiple RV parks near Kemah feature swimming facilities that help combat the Gulf Coast heat. Jackie's Place RV Resort offers a "sparkling pool" according to visitors, while some other facilities include additional water features. One reviewer notes that Jackie's Place also provides "clean restrooms and showers" with "cement pads with room to park next to your rig."

Concrete parking pads: Many Kemah-area RV sites feature level concrete surfaces that campers consistently rate highly. A guest at Jamaica Beach RV Resort mentioned the park has "pull-through sites with concrete pads with 50-amp service," making setup easier for larger rigs.

Pet amenities: Dog parks and pet-friendly facilities are common at RV campgrounds in the region. One camper at Jackie's Place mentioned a "fenced dog park" as "a must for Gulf Coast heat," while another visitor at Bolivar Peninsula RV Park said they "chose this place because it was the only rv park with a big dog area our german shepherds could run energy off on."

What you should know

Site orientation: Some parks have specific traffic flow patterns that may not be immediately obvious. At Dellanera RV Park, visitors report "nice cement drives and pads" but note that first-time arrival can be confusing: "As you pull in, natural inclination is to go to the right ... which is wrong. You have to go left to be able to hit the sites correctly."

Environmental factors: Coastal camping brings specific challenges. One camper noted "we had a constant 15mph wind, so awnings were flapping, and your car and camper get covered in a salty residue" at beachfront locations. Another mentioned "internet is very sketchy" and "can have lots of skeeters on lagoon side."

Reservation timing: Popular RV sites fill quickly, especially during peak seasons. A reviewer described Dellanera as a "busy place, must plan in advance for reservations" despite having "nice access to private beach."

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Several campgrounds offer multiple water features beyond standard pools. At Jamaica Beach RV Resort, families enjoy "2 pools, 1 lazy river (so relaxing), 1 miniature golf course" and "an awesome splash pad for the kids, both young and old." Another visitor mentioned "the lazy river makes you... lazy" and advised to "grab your spot next to the lazy river early in the day."

Structured activities: Some RV parks coordinate scheduled events for younger campers. Jamaica Beach RV Resort "runs activities all day for the kids" though one camper noted "most are already engaged in one of the pools." The resort also offers "movie night" and other organized entertainment.

Space considerations: When camping with other families, strategic site selection can create shared spaces. One experienced camper at Jamaica Beach RV Resort shared: "We went with another family and got sites that faced each other. Made things really helpful and gave us a little more space than normal."

Tips from RVers

Extended stay options: Many RV sites near Kemah accommodate longer-term visitors with special rates and services. At Tropical Gardens RV Park & Resort, "a large percentage of RVs are there on monthly rates" including workers at nearby industrial facilities. One visitor noted "full hook ups for 25 a night which was half the price of the other RV parks in the area."

Site selection strategy: When booking at heavily-populated campgrounds, consider requesting end sites for additional space. At USA RV Resorts Marina Bay, the "campground is divided into 3 sections divided by a fence" including an "adult only section," giving campers options based on their preferences for quiet or family-friendly environments.

Utilities and services: Most RV parks in the region provide full hookups, but amenities vary between locations. Big Spot RV Resort offers "clean restrooms, pool area and hot tub" while featuring a "fishing pier available short walk across the street." Some parks charge additional fees for package delivery and mail services, which may affect longer-term guests.
