    USA RV Resorts Marina Bay

    Central location in Kemah, TX

New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. All are back in sites with sewer, city water, 20/30/50 amp power, cable TV, and WiFi included. There’s a nice club house for parties, laundry facilities, a pool next to the bayou, fishing and kayaking/canoeing in the bayou and a friendly staff that keeps the park clean and cared for.

    South Main RV Park

Good for proximity to NRG stadium

My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.

    Stella Mare RV Resort

Close to Galveston but still quiet

Month long stay, $730, water, 50 amp. End of October/beginning of November the park is booked out as well as during warmer months. Half of the facilities washers and dryers didn't work. Staff is great about communicating lawn days and other news for long term guests. Trash valet and 2 free parking spots. 2 dogs parks, one for large and another for smaller dogs.

    Southlake RV Resort

    Nice clean park

The park is VERY clean and also quiet! It’s close to everything so thats a major plus. However it does have A LOT of rules. Also, a lot of long term residents live here. The back in spots are a little tight so if you’re not great at backing in just get a pull through. The facilities are immaculate . It’s been worth the price so far.

    Galveston Island KOA Holiday

    Fun Place to stay

I recently stayed at the Galveston Island KOA during a much-anticipated getaway, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience overall! Nestled just a short distance from the beach and local attractions, this KOA is the perfect base for exploring all that Galveston has to offer. Its a bit away from town, but that adds to the tranquilness of the park.  Accommodation: The RV sites were well-maintained and spacious, with clean concrete pads that provided easy access for our motorhome. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of privacy between sites and the beautiful greenery surrounding the campground, as we had a corner site with dog pen. Some spots, like ours, even offered nice trees for shade and added charm. The amenities included water, electricity, and sewer connections, all functioning properly during our stay. Facilities: The campground featured clean restrooms and showers that were well-kept, which is always a plus for RV travelers. The camp store was stocked with essentials.  The KOA’s location is exceptional. It’s just a few miles from the heart of Galveston, making it easy to access the beach, restaurants, and attractions like the historic Pleasure Pier and the Strand. We especially loved how close it was to the beach—it was a quick drive(or a nice bike ride) to the sandy shores, where we spent hours soaking up the sun. Activities and Atmosphere: The staff were friendly and eager to help with information about local activities and attractions. The KOA offered recreational options like a swimming pool. The campground maintained a family-friendly atmosphere that made it easy to unwind and enjoy nature. Tips for Future Guests: If you plan to visit during peak season, make reservations in advance to secure a good spot, as this campground can get busy. Especially if you want a cabin. Don’t miss the chance to explore the beach during sunset—it was truly a breathtaking experience!

Final Thoughts: Our experience at the Galveston Island KOA was memorable and enjoyable. It was the first time out in our new motorhome.  The combination of respectful staff, clean facilities, and a prime location made it a fantastic home base for our beach adventures. I’d highly recommend this KOA to anyone looking to explore Galveston while enjoying the comforts of camping. We left with wonderful memories and hope to return soon!

    Quintana Beach County Park

    Nice relaxing beach park

We stayed here during the week in April, and the weather was perfect. A nice steady breeze kept the mosquitoes away, which we heard can be pretty bad. They have 30 amp FHU sites as well as 50 amp. Also have nice looking cabins for rent. A short walk over a nice boardwalk to the beach. Also half mile walk to the bird sanctuary, which is awesome for bird lovers. Free wifi, but the connection kept dropping. Great 5G connection with Verizon. Level, concrete pads. We required no leveling. Sites are spacious and patio is surrounded with well mowed grass. Campground is on a ship channel and it was fun watching the huge tankers go by. We really enjoyed this park and will return. No shade, so it would be quite hot in summer.
