    Great location, easy access!

This park is an older KOA that is now a private campground. There are many long term residents but also a lot of RVers stopping through. This is a true RV Park with full services, propane, a pool, nice dog walking area, and long pull throughs. The park is kept very clean and has great landscaping.

While normally we prefer to be in the country away from the cities, we were here for work and we were very impressed by the care they take for this park. The staff was all very helpful and spent a lot of time making sure campers have a great experience. We will definitely return!

Cellular signals were great for AT&T and TMobile.

There is a busy road outside of the park, but that also means great restaurants and quick drives to things we wanted to go do!

This is a nice off the interstate travel park. Full hook ups. Pull through sights plenty long enough for our 40+ ft. motorhome with tow vehicle. Pull in at night out in the morning. Simple and not fancy. But fits the bill when needing a place with electricity and dump and fill water!

    All shiny and new

Small, new rv resort on Tim’s Ford lake in Winchester, TN. Very clean. Very well-maintained. There is a cute trading post that carries convenience items and has restrooms. All sites are pull-in with full (50 amp) hook-ups on the left side. Sites are large, newly paved and are equipped with very new, clean picnic tables. No fire rings...but there are 10 communal ones near the water and wood is provided at no cost. Views are incredible. Perfectly positioned for amazing sunsets. Golf cart rentals available. *We experienced issues with the power upon arrival but the general manager came right away and had the problem resolved quickly. Very responsive and professional!

    Secluded with great views

We chose a primitive site. They are well carved out back away from the road. There were plenty of spots available, both primitive and RV hookups. We didn't stay long enough to try out the bath houses, so I can't attest to those. The park looked like it is regularly visited and you can reserve sites online more than a day in advance.

Nice, clean but really close together

The sites are very close together, but our neighbors were really quiet. They are permanent (long term) residents. The camp ground is pretty full even now.

The sites are very close together. It is shaded. The sites are gravel and fairly level. There is a swimming pool (outdoor) and a playground. I did not visit the bathhouse so do not know how nice it is or whether or not it is ADA accessible.

The owner helped us to our space and is quite nice. The 2 neighbors assisted us with booking up as this is our first time out in our new camper.

The handyman is a master helper!!!

    Camp by the Lake!

You can camp by the water at Tim’s Ford Lake. Some sites have full hook up’s up to 50 amp. Sewer hook up is not available at the water sites. We enjoy this campground. Great for kayaking and fishing. Family friendly.
35’ Fifth Wheel was a breeze at most sites, a couple sites may be tight.

River Road RV Park & Horse Camp

    Ok for an overnight

This park is very run down. If it weren't for how nice the lady was and the super sweet dogs, I'd give it two stars.

Pros: -Easy to get to if you come in/out from 99, and not terribly difficult if you come the other way (through the state park entrance) -Sites are big and even -Only a few minutes away from town where you can get groceries, find restaurants, and a couple big-rig friendly gas stations. -Full hookups -Not crowded, so it's very quiet. There's a train track nearby, but it didn't wake me at night -Free firewood! -Online reservation system works well -Had to adjust my reservation because of engine trouble, and was able to call and make the change with no difficulty

Cons: -Multiple RVs that look like they've been broke down there for years -Weird random toilet and a bunch of junk in the check-in station -No one AT the check-in station, and with no cell service I just had to sit there for 20 minutes for someone to come around, so I definitely don't suggest staying without a reservation (I had one) -No service for TMobile and almost none for Verizon (was told at&t works, but I can't verify)

Things that could've just been me: -Couldn't get the water to work (I've never used an underground water connection before) -Couldn't get my furnace to work (again, could have been me, but it worked at the site before and the one after 🤷‍♀️) so I had to use a space heater and pay an extra $2.5/day. It was still freezing at night

Things that might bother other people: -There's a few large dogs allowed to roam off leash. Didn't bother me in the slightest, I love dogs and they were so, so sweet and knew all the basic commands. Very well mannered and playful but they'll bark when you drive by. If you have dogs that aren't friendly to other dogs or if you're afraid of even friendly ones, this probably isn't the place for you. -No laundry, public showers, or restrooms. Not an issue for me as I have all that in my rig, but if you don't it could be a problem if you plan to stay long term.

All in all, I'd definitely stay there again. It's not the Ritz or anything but it's fine if you're just passing through for a night or two.

    Campers RV Park

    Clean, Family Friendly Park.

We stayed here twice as our first stops leaving “home” when we started full-timing this summer. Both stays were quite, with plenty of things to explore around the property.

Pro’s: The back-in and full time sites have ample space for those looking for a longer stay, but the pull through a usually aren’t full so they provide decent space as well. Activities everywhere! There are pavilions and out buildings setup with games, hammocks, and all kinds of fun family-friendly things to see and do.

Cons: The grounds were “under construction” while we were there so there was occasionally some tractor/dozer noise. Some sites were unavailable due to them being revamped.

Collectively it was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly, and even put us in a nice long term stay when there was a booking error, so we ended up with a huge spot near the creek. I only take off a star due to spacing of the sites, but I would stay here again.

    Nice Clean campground

We stayed for 1 night on our way north. Pretty gardens, a shaded site, camp store and a clean refreshing pool. We love sitting out front watching Fireflies there were many.  we had a pull thru with full hook up. Were staying here again this year.

We stayed again in June this year and had a tight site #100 facing another’s front door shared picnic table and fire pit. The pit was to close to the camper glad no one had a fire. The pool wasn’t open they resurfaced it so very bummed about that it was hot. I didn’t like our spot at all.

    Fantastic Campground!

Everyone here is very helpful and friendly at the check-in, camp store, and security. There is a roving security guard most of the night. Great steady power and water. Clean sites, mostly level even for my 43’ rig. Beautiful hiking and biking trails and close to Huntsville with plenty of shopping, dining, etc. This was my very first RV park experience and I will absolutely be returning often!

    Quiet spot with great staff.

This was our first RV park experience ever and we LOVED it. Super friendly staff and the neighbors don’t bother you. The laundry room could use a little love - only 1 dryer works and all of the machines are outdated - but it got the job done nonetheless.

    Nice campground!

    This is a beautiful campground!

Bathrooms/showers were very clean & nicely decorated.

Campground was laid out very well. We had site 6, which is a short pullthrough. Almost too short for us, since we didn't unhitch. There were tent sites in the back by the pond, which looked nice.

We had to pull in late & leave early, so I couldn't explore the hiking trail.

The worst thing you can say about this campground is the traffic noise from I-24. The campground is easy on- easy off the interstate, but it's only a few hundred yards from it. The noise never lets up.

We camped at The Broken Banjo RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Monte Sano State Park Campground

So Much to Do at Monte Sano.

We visited Monte Sano State Park in the middle of summer (June) and stayed in the campground for five nights. We made our reservations through the Alabama State Parks web reservation portal at https://guestrez.megasyshms.com/5Q5BT for campground and cabin rentals.

The campground is located near the city of Huntsville, Alabama to the east. The park was easily accessible and the drive from the city to the park was not typical as it takes you though some of Huntsville’s neighborhoods before arriving to the park’s entrance. Once we arrived we went directly to the visitor’s center where the staff was friendly and organized. Our paperwork was already completed so the check in process was quick but very informative. We also received the gate code for the campground as the gate is electronically operated and closes after every opening to provide a welcomed level of security. We stayed in site 25 of the first loop, the park was not crowded in the campground as the summer temperatures were near extreme highs. The camp sites are very well spaced and there’s enough trees and underbrush to offer privacy. There are a few sites that have full hookups but most are without sewer. The park map I’ve included shows the ones with full hook up services. The bath houses were clean and orderly, the staff came by in the mornings to clean and restock. There are two camper/tent loops with rest rooms and showers at each. One tent only loop with no facilities but beautiful large sites.

The park has several scenic areas where the views of the mountains are great and provides a nice place to sit and ponder. There's also an operational Planetarium on the park sponsored and operated by the Von Braun Astronomical Society (https://www.vbas.org/). There are shows on Saturday’s at 7:30PM with an admission or $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. You will need to get there early though as parking is limited but worth the effort to visit.

There are miles and miles of bike and hiking trails here, on the weekend it’s amazing how many cyclists come here to ride the trails. Some of the trails are very aggressive and some moderate for those of us that want this pace, the parks paved roads also offer a good place for a casual ride in the evenings.

All in all, we really enjoyed this park and will add this to our return list in the future. I also have to recommend a visit to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center (https://www.rocketcenter.com/) in Huntsville, you won’t be disappointed.

The playground for the kids was awesome! You’re next to a dock on the TN River, so water activities were easy & fun! They have the entire campground decorated for the holidays and it is adorable!

    Cathedral Caverns State Park Campground

    Our go to spot!

We live in Madison, AL and love driving out to Cathedral Caverns to camp on the weekends. It has a smaller but decent primitive campground. A quick drive down the gravel road and you're at the RV park with bathrooms. There are also two backcountry sites if you want to hike a mile or so. It's never too crowded and always clean! WARNING: Very spotty cellphone service, which is actually nice if you want to enjoy the outdoors!

    Rvino - The Broken Banjo

    Relaxing but small spaces

Pros: The staff are all incredibly friendly. We loved interacting with them (especially Eric!) during our stay. The laundry and bathrooms are very clean and spacious. The staff will come around and collect your trash for you (which isn’t necessary but a nice plus!) The location is directly off the highway and close to stores if you need a late night run for anything. The dog park was cute and offered a lot of extras. The heated pool was nicely taken care of and would be fantastic for the summer season. The camp store had lots of necessities and cute decor plus a dvd rental library and a pizza place onsite!

Cons: There was a massive cell phone tower within walking distance from our RV. Literally on the property of the RV park behind their utility shed and next to the playground. The highway traffic is quite loud. The campsites are very close together! The playground and fun type amenities in the back of the park weren’t kept up very well it seemed. A lot of the stuff was missing or broken.
