Welcome To Shellmound RV Resort & Campground. Here you will find a beautiful and peaceful resort that you can come have fun with us. This campground isn't like any other you have ever stayed at.
The campground has a full set of amenities, everything from a bath house where you can shower to a laundry room with two washing machines and two dryers. We also have fire wood and ice for sale at the managers office. The wood will be delivered to your campsite. There is a beautiful day use area with roped off swimming area, pavilion, gazebo, 3 docks and boat ramp large enough to accommodate two trucks at a time. Activities include fishing, hiking trail, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, kids soccer net, and the best playground around. Services include a dump station, water, electric, tent camping, RV camping and much much more.
Only one shower per bathroom so be ready to shower at odd times if you stay in a tent. Make sure you call the morning of to make sure there is a spot open before driving down. They don’t do reservations, which I really wish they did. But they will put a cone in your site if you call that morning. They have a swimming area that you can walk to which is nice.
Lost of camping great fish around play groung for the kids
Camped there every summer for several years.
campground is on the river and great for motor boaters. its on tva property so rules are strick.
I24 goes right through Jasper, Tn and crosses an epically picturesque section of Nickajack Lake. Nickajack dam is within a few minutes of the I24 Jasper exit and Shellmound Campground is located adjacent.
Shellmound is "privately" managed and can not be reserved through RecGov.
The RV section is crowded with no privacy, but maintained and clean. There is a playground area at the front and it is separated from the day use area.
The primitive campground is located behind the RV Campground and seperated by trees from the RV's. There are a few spots within the trees to camp and a "parking" area. The rest of the primitive area is in a large field with an awesome view of the lake, pick a spot. So depending on when you arrive and how crowded the area is you may not get a tree or next to the lake:) there are picnic tables and fire rings. I didn't inquire as to their maximum capacity.
The day use area is very nice, manicured with a swimming area, dock and boat ramp. The water was surprisingly clear and COLD!
I noticed a sign for Little Cedar Mountain Trail on the way out, but did not have the opportunity to check it out. Maybe next time.
