The BEST primitive cabins in Tennessee!

Absolutely the BEST primitive campground! My family and I regularly come to Camp Chet for several reasons: the scenery, accommodations and not to mention we love the hosts! Ruth and Robert make every effort to make sure your stay is a comfortable and adventurous experience! The trails are so clearly, well marked out and they even have a detailed map available on the website. My boys love climbing the rocks and discovering all the neat caves and nooks. There is a storage area near the primitive cabins that has everything you could think of and we often leave supplies for the next crew. We love Camp Chet!

Beautiful and peaceful — easy to find and feels wonderfully remote

My wife and I have stayed at camp Chet Spring summer winter and fall :-) we love the trails! From seasonal waterfalls to gorgeous fall colors it takes me back to my happy childhood days playing in the woods. We particularly like the nights by the camp fire, cooking over the fire and snuggling under the deep blankets when it’s cool. We have written parts of books in quiet places under a dense canopy of trees beside a stream. We feel God’s presence there as He speaks to us in prayer. Our hosts Robert and Ruth are our friends and make our stay special each time. Whether we want to visit or just be alone.

Beautiful, Comfortable Campground With Trails!

Camp Chet is a beautiful camping ground with numerous hiking trails to explore. We hiked to the top of the red trail and hung our hammocks as we enjoyed the blue ridge vista in the sunshine. Absolutely stunning!

We stayed in The Pepoon Cabin and the bed was so comfortable! There was a gas heater we didn’t end up using, but good to know for future colder visits. The hosts left plenty of electric lanterns for us to use.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and were quite surprised to see that we also had the option to use a charcoal grill for our meals. They also had a shed filled with tools, extra paper products, fire starting equipment, various kitchen supplies (like pots and pans!), and so much more. We ended up not needing most of what we had brought to cook with because the camp was already well stocked for what we needed.

Robert and Ruth are so hospitable and helpful! We will definitely be making this our go to campground as a family for the rest of our lives.

Picturesque and close to paragliding

The camp is perfectly situated in the middle of a picturesque forest surrounded by cliffs. We loved staying at the camp it has all the equipment needed for camping(fire pit, wood, grill, utensils, light, toilet, etc) and the cabin is so comfortable... it was like staying in a hotel room and less than 10 min away for the paragliding take off spot. Robert and Ruth welcomed us so warmly we will be back for sure!
