Quiet out of the way campground.

Beaver Creek Campground is an idyllic out of the way spot located in South Dakota near the Wyoming boarder. There is a water spigot but no trash bins, you have to pack your trash out. I drove in from the Keystone area on half paved and half gravel roads. I would give it 5 stars if there was garbage container.

Remote location

Due to it's remoteness, it appears some campers are taking advantage of the CG. Lots of trash and a pile of dog poop were left in a site vacated on my second day. Many other campers don't understand the need to put seat down and close door of vault toilet. There is no trash collection, so pack it out, please. Otherwise, this is a cute CG. No cell service. Water pump is provided but it's a workout to use. Sites 1&8 are the best. Trees for some shade. 1 has creek right behind it. Don't use GoogleMap as it does not take you to actual destination. USFS directions are off a bit, but are pretty good. Less gravel road if you come from Wyoming side.

Good spot once you get there

Coming from WY side, you navigate through a private camp then come to Beaver Creek. Peaceful. Navigating from SD side is much more difficult but possible coming from Deerfield Lake via gravel Hwy 85 following signs. Non-electric sites. Free camping when season is closed. Potable water available during season. Vault toilet open.

November camping and no locked gate!!

I was looking for a nearby geocache and discovered this campground was close by.  I didn't camp but I was impressed by such a nice campground not being closed in the winter!

Beautiful and peaceful

This out of the way campground is gorgeous. It was quiet. There are 8 sites, not too close together. The vault toilet was clean, fresh water is available. About half of the sites offer no shade in the middle of the day, and I was there during record heat. I'll return!
