Fishing, ATV riding, and creek-side camping draw visitors to Ditch Creek, a small US Forest Service campground in Black Hills National Forest. Sites vary: some back directly onto the creek, while others sit in open sun. No cell service reaches the campground. The hand-crank well is functional but reviewers note the water carries forest debris, so arriving with a full tank is worth considering. ATV traffic is consistent, with trailheads directly across the road and a trailer parking area nearby, so dust and engine noise are part of the experience. Deerfield Lake, roughly five miles down the gravel access road, adds fishing and hiking to the itinerary. Mt Meadow Store and Campground is a reported stop for potable water fill-ups. Pit toilets are cleaned daily in summer, and the sites include fire rings, picnic tables, and two trash dumpsters.
