Three Flags RV Park

With 40 RV sites accessible via a short dirt road off I-90, Three Flags RV Park accommodates rigs up to 50 feet with full hookups available. The campground operates seasonally from April through October and accepts reservations, with cash required for Passport America discounts. All RV sites feature pull-through access on level, gravel and grass surfaces.

The facility maintains daily cleaning schedules for restrooms and shower houses, with four large washers and dryers in the laundry room. Sites include picnic tables, and the park provides a dump station for those without sewer hookups. WiFi reaches most sites, though streaming capabilities vary by location. Verizon cell service works adequately throughout the property.

Highway noise from I-90 carries across the campground, particularly noticeable at night, while train traffic passes once or twice daily without horns. The grassland setting at the base of the Black Hills offers minimal shade but reduces dust issues. Michael B. advises visitors to "not wash your rig - water is scarce in these parts."

The location provides convenient access to Sturgis, Mount Rushmore, and Deadwood attractions. During the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August, the park adds significant tent capacity to accommodate rally participants. For additional camping choices in the area, consider camping spots outside Blackhawk or nearby Lazy JD RV Park.

Many campers appreciated the clean facilities, level sites, and friendly staff at this well-maintained RV park. Highway and train noise from nearby transportation routes was the primary concern mentioned by visitors.

Great base camp

Stayed at Three Flags RV Park and had a good experience overall. The sites are well-maintained and the all pull-through setup made getting in and out a breeze. The staff were friendly and helpful — you can tell it's a locally owned operation that takes pride in what they do. The location is super convenient, right off I-90 with easy access to Sturgis, Mount Rushmore, and Deadwood.

A couple of things to note: the proximity to the interstate means you'll get some road noise, so if you're looking for total peace and quiet, keep that in mind. Also, while the sites are a decent size, the spacing between neighbors felt a little snug at times. Neither issue was a dealbreaker for us, and we'd definitely consider staying here again. Solid value for the area!

Quite a surprise.

This Park is kept very clean. Laundry room and machines are organized and in great operating condition. Bathrooms and showers are cleaned very often. RV spots are level. HRV spot has a picnic bench water and electric. And there are also quite a few with sewer as well. One downfall is the highway and the train. It's not a very busy part of the highway and the train only comes by once or twice a day nothing at night. No train horns and the trains are quite short. The staff are very friendly. I was extremely pleased with the RV park and everything about it.

Easy, good for daytrips and shopping in Rapid City nearby

This is a no-nonsense, FHU RV park, not for long-term, really. It obviously makes its money during Sturgis M/C Rally in early August (a week long party). Rest assured that everything in the Black Hills is booked for that week. If you're not participating in the Rally that weekend, I recommend any other part of the country.

There is a LOT of tent capacity, and about 40 RV sites. Sites are well-maintained, level, power and water is good, sewer hookups work properly. Laundry is well-cared-for, and clean. Showers are good, Bathrooms are with the showers. No Wifi streaming, Verizon is pretty slow, but acceptable. All RV sites are pull-thru and well-spaced.

Cash only for Passport America, also accepts Good Sam and military veteran discounts.

The owner is no-nonsense, but thoroughly likeable, and very flexible. Highway noise is not a problem most of the night, and we weren't bothered by rail noise all night (which is rare in the West).

Park of gravel/grass mix, no real shade, but these are grasslands at the foot of the Black Hills, so almost no dust and dirt. Road in is well-upkept, but dirt. Do NOT wash your rig - water is scarce in these parts.

We paid $23/night Passport America for three nights, and $45 for another (military). Otherwise, this is marginally affordable for us.

Nice Clean and centrally located to the Black Hills

This is a very nice RV park which is super clean.  Most sites are pull through and the WIFI was decent at our spot.  We had a site with W/E only but there is a dump site and very clean restrooms.  The laundry room is also clean with 4 large washers and driers.  As mentioned previously, the only downside to this park is its proximity to the Interstate and the train tracks.  If noise bothers you then bring a good set of ear plugs for the night.  A bonus for us was it's a Passport America park.  Bring cash if you want the PA rate.  I highly recommend this park!

Great amenities. Day trip to Badlands.

We stayed here for 2 nights. There were full hookups and E/W spots. There were plenty of hot showers, a dump station, laundry, and propane refills, plus a tiny store. The grassy spots were level. Everything was cleaned daily. The only downside was considerable road noise from the freeway, but a fan or A/C can drown that out.
