Edisto Beach State Park Campground

We absolutely love camping at the Live Oak Campground portion of the EBSP. The sites are all spacious, shaded, and clean. The bathrooms are cleaned several times throughout the day (the only thing I don’t like about the bathrooms are the flushers for the toilets - so awkward!). There are trails for walking and biking that are well kept and are ADA accessible. I cannot recommend this place enough. Make sure you have at least one breakfast from Seacow Eatery, enjoy a pizza at Coots, and BBQ from the Briny Swine. McKonkey’s has the best onion rings. For some of the best seafood you’ll eat make sure you go to Flowers just down the road. You can eat it there or get just about anything and take back to your campsite to cook.

Great state campground. Water and electric. Less than a minute walk to the beach. Can hear the surf at night. Very clean showers and restrooms.

Edisto Beach state park has two campgrounds. We stayed in the beach campground. There is a beach, but it can’t be seen by most sites. It’s the salt marsh that is most prominent, and with rain it gets pretty marshy all over, but the site pads appear to stay above water. At least with this overnight rain. The Live Oak campground suits my taste better. As the name suggests, the sites are nestled in trees and not on top of each other.

Sites were flat with very little leveling necessary. We could hear the waves from the campsite!

Love the no commercialism-bike paths and hiking trails a plus-We DID request a back in site a month ago however we were given a busy loop on the road site-oh well- this little island is a time to chill-enjoy the quiet, beauty and sealife-

We have stayed in the Live Oak Campground twice and loved it. Spots are roomy and the staff is friendly. We went in off season so the park was quiet.

Great place to relax, very quiet. Grounds were kept nicely. Getting 40’ Class A through grounds a little tricky. Need to limb some trees. Remove 1 tree after entry to get through, only had about 2” clearance.

Edisto is an amazing place to explore and have some peace and quiet. The beach is great for walking and shelling. Campground is very nice and the spots are well spaced. Great for bike riding also. We were able to grab a site on the outer end and had amazing views out the back of our rig.

First, be aware that this is 1 state park with 2 separate campgrounds. The Oaks are about half a mile away on the other side of intercoastal. We thought we were on the beach. But the sites are shady and nice. Ours was a bit small and our truck had to be park right next to camper. So it wouldn't be in road. We couldn't use fire pit and picnic table was at back of camper. It's pull thru site but small.. our campers 30ft. It's nice but we really wanted to be on beach. Staff was knowledgeable about things to do and places to eat. The beach is beautiful.

We really enjoyed camping at Edisto Beach for tonight. Quite close to A great beach, you could hear the sounds of the surf at night. Great stargazing and an added bonus of a decent bar and grill half mile up the beach. An easy walk for thirsty beachcomber. Nice gravel sites with water and electric. Enough to do to keep you busy for a few days. We camped in the beach campsite, but there is another about a mile up the road that we didn’t visit. A little cool when we were there 24°.

This park is wonderful!  You have access to the beach as well as trails through the forest.

There are two campgrounds, one by the beach that fills up fast and one back in the trees which is our preference.  Edisto is not a large town but it does have a grocery store and a few restaurants and shops.  There are no laundromats!  It's about an hour to Charleston.  The marshlands, forest and ocean are stunning!  Botany Bay is nearby and also is a must to see while you are there.

Lovely quiet campground. Friendly hosts. 

Water/Elec, but dump is just across the local road. 

Lovely and dark in the evening. Not many RVs while during the week. 

Campsites easily accessible(30ft 5th&F250), although being fairly close, plenty of vegetation/brush to afford privacy. 

Would love to return in summer.

Clean well kept camp, no spot more then 100 yards from the beach. At night enjoy the star with the sound of crashing waves. Grocery store right across the street from camp ground depending on where your site is it's about 1/2 mile walk. Sites have ample space but not secluded, beach has more seashells then I've ever seen and I lived on the ocean for 4 years. Highly recommend this spot. 38' class A Roads in weren't bad just a bit off the beaten path about a hr from any normal hustle and bustle. Wifi not good AT&T full bars, antenna tv 50+ channels

Was a bit pricey, but a nice place to car camp. Short walk to the beach. Quiet and very clean. The customer service was exceptional, especially the man who works at the Camp Exchange on the beach. He made my teenagers very happy-not an easy task.

I was on the way from Savannah to Charleston and wanted to do car camping. They let me book a night that day for $49.99. Very quick and easy! The campsite and shower facility were clean and well maintained. Love to visit again!!

We had been looking for a place to camp beach side with our teardrop. Loved Edisto! Just a dune separates our site from the beach. The campground is well-maintained, lovely people, and the beach was beautiful. We swam and collected shells. Visited the Serpetarium in the heat of the day. The tidal basin is lovely too, with lots of wildlife to view.

Staying here for the weekend. Luck I caught someone canceling, so call, never hurts. (The number listed isn’t correct, call 843-869-2156. My Belle is 40 foot and I had no issues. Lots of trails through the area.
Nice, quiet and clean.

We stayed on the Live Oak side on site 111. Our site was kind of open but still great (since we were there for a meet up/group) but other sites are very deep and private. Bath house was clean although half the showers on the women’s side were closed so there was a line. Short drive to the beach or to Botany Bay.

Fantastic Campground located right on the beach in Edisto Island, SC!

First off, I've visited the state park since I was a child, but normally we would go to walk the long beach to the northern inlet area. This was my second time camping here and first time tent camping. It was a pure joy and I'll be back whenever I can.

The only drawback is its popularity. I ended up only being able to spend one night at the beach campground because it is fully booked all the way into October.

There are usually available sites in the Live Oak Campground located on the marsh, but the beach sites go quickly.

We stayed in the campground on the salt marsh. Beautiful live oaks shading camping areas. Great atmosphere. Lots of places close by to visit. Only about a 45 min drive to Charleston. Botany Bay was a fantastic experience. The only downside we experienced was we left out coolers outside and the raccoons raided them.

We had a magical time at Edisto. The Beach campground was just steps from the ocean. Opt for sites 1-12 or 50-75. Bathrooms were great. Shelling was incredible-especially if you walk towards the inlet around low tide.

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Spent two nights here. Our RV maiden voyage, trying it out before we hit the road. Tight spot with trees but exactly why it is so beautiful. Live oak trees, Spanish moss, cycling opportunities top notch. Great dog walking areas. Wish we had stayed longer.

I have visited this campground twice and LOVE IT!!! Sites are wooded and private. They all have picnic tables and fire rings. Some of them are beachside, others are Marshside but they are all pretty wooded and private. They also have great walking trails and a fabulous camp store! Great picnic areas and a beautiful beach! What more could you ask for? Also the grocery store is right at the entrance of the park for all your necessities.

We stayed at the Beach campground at Edisto State Park.  Gorgeous campground with some sites backing up to the marsh.  All sites were well spaced out (especially on the main road/ not the loop), and all had easy access to the beautiful beach.  Highly recommend bikes as the beach campground is a quick walk or short ride over to Bi-Lo and other parts of main Edisto.

This is our first time to this state park. There are 2 separate campgrounds. One that is right on the beach with plenty of beach access and the other that is called Live Oak campground. This is the one we stayed at. The sites are all level with hard packed sand. They are rather small sites though. Deepen enough for a fifth wheel but not very wide. Your fifth wheel and your truck is all that will fit in most sites. Not a lot of extra room left for all your accessories. The tails are great and be sure to bring your bike. The only negative is the amount of Ticks that your dogs will pick up if you take them on the trails. Be prepared the are tiny little devils! The park is right off a busy highway so depending on the site you choose you will hear a lot of roadway noise. We were in site # 89. Next time I will chose one well away from the highway. All and all a beautiful place for a weekend getaway!

We just spent 3 great days on liveoak #109 and partied on the beach side with friends in #72 and #70. The beach has fabulous shells of all types and the surf was roaring- even heard it over at Liveoak! The restrooms are extremely clean and the little town is right next door(bi-lows is convenient) with great restaurants you can walk or bike to. Plan to come back many times!

We really enjoyed our to night stay at this campground. The site are nice and generally spaced well. The baths are updated and nice. We walked to town for lunch and coffee. We will return again for a longer stay.
