Very nice close to the lake has showers and laundry room

Linesville camp ground is on the Pennsylvania and Ohio border. There's no shopping malls it's located outside of linesville, the camp ground is not big and it's not small has non electric and electric it also has rv hook up alot of people go here to go fishing since it's located beside a very large lake. There is plenty to see it's also known as pymatuning where the ducks walk on the water if you've never visited this camp ground it's worth the trip unless it rains.

    Great spot close to Pittsburgh

Was a little concerned as I was driving off the highway to get there. However once there, it’s a very nice place. I luckily got a spot on looking over a very dense tree-d valley with a beautiful sunset. Sites 41-48 are the best view at sunset.

I had a full hookup site. Spacing between spots was not cramped at all. The central bathroom, pay shower, and laundry room had ac, a couch and we’re quite clean. The host also sold firewood and ice. There was also a decent size park.

There’s were a good number of long term residents but the campground was kept clean and quiet.

    Overall highly recommend.

    Quiet, Wooded, on the Creek

Beautiful level sites, spaced nicely apart, full hook ups, with big picnic tables and fire rings with multi-tiered grate. We had sites #46 and 48 right above the creek surrounded by tall trees. Incredibly quiet. Great for those traveling with dogs. We had a bluegrass quintet playing two sites down from ours and it was amazing! Within a 30 min drive of Cook Forest State Park, where we did some terrific hiking on well marked trails. A farm stand in the open-air market right by the campground rounded out our dinner with fresh zucchini and tomatoes. Can’t comment on the bathhouses bc we didn’t use them.

    Excellent experience!

Our stay was over the weekend and into the beginning of the week. We stayed in the dog loop because we took our dog. The campsite was clean, very close to the bathrooms and drinking water. The people were all so friendly, dogs were very well behaved. The facilities were very clean. The activities around the site were abundant and super fun. We camped in a tent, so had no need for any rv hookups. Great experience!

    Large sites

We stayed from Sunday thru Wednesday. We had a nice large full hook site. It was partly shaded but could've used better drainage. Most full hook up sites had wet spots. They are adding more full hook up sites.

We did not use the facilities so no review there.

    Really nice!

Very well maintained campground with lots of amenities, esp for kids (pool, playground). Generous sized sites, not too close together. Looks like quite a few long-term RVers here. Cute chickens wandering around. Hiking trail accessible from the campsite. Heavily wooded and quiet, but not too far off interstate.

    Big, beautiful lake!

Great park! Sites are spacious and level. Very clean park. There are several full hook-up sites. Electric sites near the lake. We stayed at site #96. New Bathrooms are under construction. Campground is flat and great for bike riding. Nice playground for kids. Dog park nearby. Camp is near beach & marina. Also many shops and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. We will definitely be coming back to Mosquito Lake!

    Sites sooo cramped!

Pleasant stay, paid through dyrt(aka campspot) so could not reserve a spot without paying extra. Checkin was all done remotely so no issues on rate change. Spots are VERY close together(think sitting next to your neighbors sewage pipe) despite the fact it was off season, owners packed everyone into a single location.. Most around us where very long term with many having permanent structures, but very quiet. The view was spectacular. Would definately not stay at peak due to the sheer number of people they can cram in. Did not use any amenities. Would have rated much higher if sites were not so close together.

    Loleta Recreation

    Loleta Got the Job Done

Loleta Recreation campground is a good central location for activities in Allegheny National Forest. This campground has everything you look for in a campground, showers, firewood and ice available for purchase and fire pits located at each site. It looked like most of their campsites had electrical hook-ups, if needed, but we are just tent campers and had one of the few sites without electricity. Vault toilets are located throughout the campground and each site has a campfire ring with a cooking grate attached.

There are two main locations in the campground, the upper campground and the lower campground. The lower campground seemed to be taken up by a majority of trailer camping where as the upper campground was a mix of tents and trailers. There are also a couple of group campsites that looked to hold about 25-50 people. The upper campground entrance has a spot to park just for the day and has a few trails to hike or a spot to swim in the river just above a small dam.

We encountered a few loud patrons at the campground, but it did seem that everyone respected the quiet hours and knew when they were 10pm-6am.

While we did some hiking throughout Allegheny we found a few spots that would have been a little more fitting for us to camp, Ministers Creek has some great first come first serve spots along the creek with a short or long hike in, or even a few reserved spots closer to the main road. Loleta did the job for us especially since we were booked last minute for Memorial Day weekend and we had no real complaints. It did the job for us, but don't expect anything great.

    Great family camping

One of my family’s favorite places to camp. It’s a smaller campground that reminds me of having a second home by the lake. More of a neighborhood feel. Kids love the sand volleyball court, playground, basketball court and the WiFi. I always felt my kids were safe to roam around there as it is small and private. No one is allowed in unless the are campers or their registered guests. No hiking or biking there but it is next to Pymatuning State Park where there are trails. Bathrooms are immaculate, nice pool, and the have fun themed weekends and entertainment. Mostly all full hook up. Transient sites by the lake are our favorite but stayed across from the playground and in the wooded area by the road and both were great.

    Pymatuning State Park Campground

Our new fave OH State Park

A beautiful park! We love being near the water when camping and at Pymatuning most if not all sites have views of the beautiful lake and the Pennsylvania shoreline across the lake. The campground is busy and very popular but the crew is super efficient at checking in campers, answering questions and especially maintaining the grounds. Quite a few of the sites are lakefront and of those a number are full hook up - and the FHU sites in the central section are new within the last two years. Boat ramps are part of the campground and are used by many campers. Some quaint Amish shopping is nearby - but not much in the way of grocery stores as the closest towns on the Ohio and Pennsylvania sides of the border are small and built to support the local communities. We love this park - our new favorite in the Ohio State campground system! P.S. The only slight downside for us is weak T-mobile cell service. Not a big deal but work requires us to stay in touch and work remotely via our hotspot.

    Quiet and sunny

Nice big sites. Not much shade. I recommend a RV water filter because the hard water will stain your bathroom if the stay is extended. The campground host offers a dump trailer service to empty tanks. We stay because it’s close to the Dayton fairgrounds and makes it easier for my kids to tend to their show animals. Typically too close to our home to camp regularly, but will be staying in September for a campground event weekend.

    Mountain Top Campground

Amazing Service, Amazing Views, and So Close to Pittsburgh!

We recently stayed at this campsite with our 3 very young kids and dog. What amazing views from this location! It actually does really sit at the mountain top and gives you pretty good views of the valleys and surrounding areas from any of the rim campsites. Fall was in full effect and it was AMAZINGLY beautiful!! I will also say, the host Gary and his family, who live in a cabin house right on property, are PHENOMENAL hosts! They will pretty much help you with ANYTHING you need at any time! They called me and texted me in advance to remind me us of our reservation and also to find out if we were coming in late! We arrived at 9 PM, and sure enough he was there ready with his little ranger golf cart to escort us to our site!

The ONLY downsides at this site (which are really not downsides for anyone else without kids) are:

    1. There is no playground or activities for children. I understand they have blue grass bands that come and play in the warmer weather and a large campsite fire, but since we were there at the beginning of Fall weather, there weren't any scheduled bands or fires. They do however have a very very large open field right smack dab in the middle of the campground for any kind of activities you can come up with if you brought those activities with you (i.e. soccer, kite flying, baseball, etc..)

    2. There are no full-hookup sites…..yet! They are currently working on having full-hookup sites throughout the campsite. In the meantime, and ONLY if you stay for a week, they give you the option of having a mobile pump-out come to your rig to pump you out for and additional $30 only on Wednesdays. We stayed for a week and left on a Wednesday, so we chose to drive to the dump station on our way out (100 yards away from our site) and save the $30. **Side note: the dump station has a fixed dump hose that all you have to do is pull up and connect to it. They also have a water hose with a sprayer if needed to wash anything down, or even to disconnect the sprayer and hook the hose up to your black tank flush if you have one.

They do provide all other hookups for free that are found at each campsite (i.e fresh water hose for city water, 30 amp cable already connected to the pedestal, and **grey water hookup so you don't have to unpack and use your own!) **Since they sit atop the mountain, the grey water hookup is a long hose that has an adapter which hooks up to your black and grey tank outlet and it runs down the hillside of the mountain into the grassy area. This means that unless you are a very active user of the commode (or have 3 kids like us), your black tank should not need to be flushed for 1-2 weeks at a time! Otherwise, you can use your shower and faucets as if you were connected to a full hook-up site! Pretty neat!**

All in all, the sites are pretty spread out and spacious, so you have pretty decent privacy ( if you keep your shades down!). We will be definitely be going back any time we are looking to go to Pittsburgh area for some fun. This place was great!

    Beautiful!

This beautifully tree-filled campground is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely quiet, warm, and friendly. They have many seasonal sites that are well maintained, and several open spaces for short-term stays. Bathrooms/showers are clean, sites are gravel and level, and there is much shade to be had. Full hookups are well placed, pool looked clean, and check-in lady couldn’t have been nicer!

    Great place to camp

We have tented and RV'd at Clear Creek. A must do when camping in Pennsylvania. The Clarian river is great for kayaking . Multiple trails off of park. Biking and breweries close by. if you have RV/travel trailer do NOT recommend the non-power sites, they are not level enough, you may really have to bring up the trailer. There were wonderful campsites hosts when we there

Pros; excellent location, great friendly people, clean and stocked bathrooms which include showers. Some sites are separated.. great camp hosts

Cons…a few sites are really close, however not a bad thing here as we got to meet a lot of great people, so for us it was kind of a Pro.

Lots for kids to do. Great pool, friendly seasonal campers, well kept grounds. Plenty of shaded, private lots, and great lots by playground to let kids roam and still watch from a distance. All sites full hookup. Great place to put your phone away, bc you wont have reception in the valley. The only downfall is the price. Its $55-69 a night.

Great FamCamp next to the runway

They fly turboprops (I think C-130's? I was Army, soooo...) and not many out of this reserve base. There is a BX and a few other amenities but, this is a really small installation. Sites are level and well manicured. Small famCamp with about 15 Sites. Thankfully Youngstown, Ohio isn't really a vacation destination. Only 5 Sites are full hookup. The rest are water/ electric. It's attached to the Youngstown Regional Airport. We're here during Christmas so, it's pretty quiet. Probably more air traffic when it's warmer as it's mostly private planes at the actual airport. We'd stay again for sure.

Lots to do for the whole family

My wife and I stayed here in late September so it wasn't overly crowded. The camp sites were fairly spacious and level. There seemed to be water fill stations scattered around the campground for convenience. I was actually able to fill me fresh water tank from one near by. The campground is fairly large and we rode our bikes around quite a bit, including our to the campground store at the entrance. There were numerous playgrounds and activities for kids. They have full hookup sections, but most of the campground is electric only. All in all the best review I can give is to say that we would go back.

    Nice place but horrid visitors

I was here the Friday of Labor day weekend. The woman who took my reservation was great and the grounds were nice. They had several options including tent sites in a large open area, some areas that were a little more secluded, lean-to, RV parking and tent platforms which was where i landed.. The 2 stars is due to the fact i was surrounded by people who were beyond drunk, obnoxious and extremely loud which is fine its all a part of camping right? They were hanging out playing there music when i first arrived about 6 and i can appreciate some good fun and music! (but how much Johnny Cash can one handle?) They then moved onto some less appealing tunes which i do not have children but there were plenty riding their bikes by so I'm sure mom had to explain some words that evening. Nothing was done regardless of the vulger lyrics but i figured what do i know I'm not a parent! I had been traveling for days so i was exhausted and managed to fall asleep only to be woken around 11:00 by several people across the way having a blast laughing and yelling which went until 2am and a couple next to me screaming and arguing at each other until 3am.. Quiet time 10:00? At least tone it down! No one addressed the situation. So if you like to hang out and party it up this is a great place. If your looking for a family oriented camping experience maybe not so much..
