Enjoyable

We went for the first time last August. We thought the staff was friendly. The pool is probably one of the cleanest. The kids loved the arcade and the candy scavenger hunt. Gorgeous night skies. My only two complaints would be no golf carts allowed and while we were in the pool, random people who weren’t staying came in and used the pool. They were rowdy and vulgar. At one point, one of the kids threw a large landscaping rock into the pool. I would suggest someone monitor the pool area so that the paying guests can enjoy with their family. We do plan a return visit. The area is very pretty!

Great super friendly campground

We saw a few bad reviews about the owner being rude but my family and I had the complete opposite reaction. Both the owner and staff were super friendly and the campground seemed nice. The hookups are a little bit farther to the back of the site but we were able to reach with our 50 foot water and power supply. The septic hookup is close so a 15 foot is plenty, we only extended it out about 8 feet.

Also they did Christmas in September and Santa delivered presents with Mrs. Clause, you do have to provide the present. Overall we enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back!

Just the right size, peaceful, great pool

We've stayed at Kalyumet on our travel trailer at least a dozen times over the last several years. We love it because it's not huge but has all the amenities that we like. The pool is nice and big with a mushroom fountain and built in seating in the shallow end. A short path through the woods leads you to their mini-golf/pizza/ice cream shop.

Great campground just be sure to get the correct site

Our family loved Kalyumet and there was plenty to do for everyone including some great activities for children.  We enjoyed the pool the walking/hiking trails, a trip into Cooks Forest, and even spent some time at the arcade (costs money).

We plan to return but our only complaint would be the site we were in (11) and others next to it were quite far from the water and cable hookups.  I ended up having to run 60ft of water hose and 50ft of cable in order to get a connection (which required a trip to Walmart).  The electric was right on the site, but I can't understand why the water was so far away.

We plan to return but just wanted to let others know if you are booking in the first 2 rows plan to have a really long water connection and possibly electric as well.

Clean and enjoyable

We had a great weekend with our dogs. Nice facility, easy check in despite the Covid-19 restrictions. Laid back atmosphere.

Rude owner!

Owner has no people skills! He was extreamly rude to our whole group! Plenty of other campgrounds in the area to choose from, would not recommend Kalumet at all!

Big Disappointment

Some sites require over 50' of hose and multiple power cords to reach power box due to the great amount of trees providing good shade throughout camp ground. The owner took it upon himself to correct the children and not the parents. The community had a great Halloween weekend. I will never go back or recommend this place after they way things were handled later on in the weekend with friends being evicted with 0 notice as owner was to cowardly to speak with adults over an activity that was mishandled from the beginning. Drive 10 more minutes and stay in the park. It's way nicer, and close to activities.

Campers Beware! No Hospitality!!

The owner, Mark is arrogant, pompous and has 0 interest in making you feel welcomed or comfortable.  He is miserable,  and is incapable of holding an adult conversation.  He ostracized a couple of teenage girls,  who were camping with their family and trying to take part of a planned camp activity.  They girls did make a mistake, as most 16 year old children will during their lives, but Mark did not allow the parents to explain, apologize, or handle the situation. He kicked out a family of 5 at 10pm at night because he was on a power trip. Not a family friend place!

You shouldn't have to worry about being asked to leave  because your child mishandled the roles to a game.... and when you haven't been a disturbance, or haven't broke any laws.

Also, hook ups are extremely far away from sites. Very inconvenient. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Nice campground

Nice campground. Friendly owners. Most of the sites are pretty close together, though.

Kid Friendly

We really enjoy this campground. Not far from the River and has a number of things for the kids to do at the campground. It has a really nice pool and playground for the kids. Also I cannot day enough about how well they maintain their bathrooms and have them set up!
