Camping: The main Silver Falls campground has tent sites, RV spots and cabins. Bring your horse and stay in the horse campground. If you need an area for many people, the park also has group tent and RV camps, and the historic Youth Camp for up to 250 campers.
Waterfalls: Where else can you walk behind a waterfall? Check out the famous South Falls and see what a 177-foot curtain of water looks like from behind. It’s part of the Trail of Ten Falls, a spectacular, nationally recognized hiking trail that weaves through a dense forested landscape. The trail passes a series of breathtaking waterfalls along a rocky canyon, and descends to a winding creek at the forest floor. This 7.2 mile loop is considered to be a moderate hike, with an overall elevation change of 800 feet. Several connecting trails with separate access points make shorter routes. For everyone’s safety— absolutely no pets allowed on the Canyon Trail. Pets on leash are allowed on all other trails.
Boots, bikes, paws, hooves: The park offers more than 35 miles of backcountry trails for mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding (see guided ride info below). Bears and cougars live in the more remote park areas.
Daytime activities: The South Falls Day-use area has spacious lawns, barbecue stands, picnic shelters, tables, a playground, horseshoe pits, an off lead area for dogs, and a charming creek. We’ve been here a few times. It’s aleays very relaxing. The facility is clean, there is a nice workout room, two lodges with store, pool and hot tub and mini golf. Kids enjoyed playing on the playground and walking to beach from trail.

It was a great.fathersday weekend with my boys. The view of the ocean is spectacular and everything in town is walking distance. The hot tub showers and laundry were all clean and nice. My rig was too big but the staff was super accommodating. I had a great time.
RangerIt was wonderful stay… very well looked after place with a nice newspaper delivery in the morning. Staff was super dog loving and friendly. There were little dog fenced areas, which is super thoughtful. The tv park so beautiful planted, reception has this cosy communal area with kitchen, living room ( books dvds games TV) clean showers and spa ( hot tub) , clean laundry room. Super great communication with staff via online. Perhaps only small things like very busy street near by ( which u can’t hear when u are in RV park) and WiFi is weak. The rest is AMAZING !!!!! We had an okay time at this site. It’s very open, but not unpleasant. They have full hook-ups, cable tv and boat rentals. The cell service wasn’t great. They also have cabins for rent. It’s right on the river and there are cute little otters that like to show off for the guests.

This campground is located just on the north side of the Waldport bridge. It doesn't offer beach front access, but it is right on the river. With a short walk to the beach. My only gripe is that the tent sites are right on top of each other without much privacy. I'm noticing that is expected with a lot of the KOA's. If you're not spending a lot of time at the site it's not a huge deal anyway. They offer cabins of different sizes, haven't stayed in one as yet, but plan to some day. There is also a small convenient store on site as well as nice clean, hot showers, flush toilets and laundry machines. Very family friendly and a nice scenic view of Walport and inlet.

The drive to Silver Falls is amazing - the best of Oregon farm country mixed with some signature forests.
ScoutGreat, clean, easy to navigate campground. Very rural for only 25 minutes outside Salem. The ranger check in hours feel very limited (for the cabins at least) and the cabin beds are so creaky!
TravelerWe stayed in a rustic cabin at this park and it was perfect. Two full beds and two small bunks make for an affordable spot for friends to gather. Book in advance because it fills up fast. The cabins are basic, but do have electricity. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The tent sites were pretty close to each other and there were a lot of kids. Walked to the waterfalls from the cabin in the early am, amazing!
LegendSmith Creek Village is such a great place for easy lodging in nature. My family stayed in one of the tiny cabins. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The cabin was nearby a few other similar cabins, but everything felt very private. There was nice walking paths and a large grass area supplied with lawn games.
We decided to take the easy route this particular trip and ate all our meals at the Big Leaf Coffeehouse. The food there is fantastic and the building has a cozy lodge vibe.
Another thing that I loved about Smith Creek Village is that although the Silver Falls state park is always busy, Smith Creek Village is not. It feels like a hidden gem inside the state park. We definitely plan on coming back.

The cabin was cozy and stayed very warm as we went in the winter. We only walked around a short ways but the snow was beautiful and it was serenely quiet.
RangerThe park is beautiful, I made sure to see all the falls (except of Winter Falls which wasn't running), and the hike was great. The park is pretty big so you do have to drive from your campsite to the trailhead, not quite hike-in.
We stayed in one of the cabins, which was quaint and nicely separated from the rest of the sites. The cabin has two small rooms, with a dining area and a sleeping area. There's no fancy appliances but we brought an electric cooler to keep our food cold, and the bathroom and parking was a short walk away. The site was outfitted with a fire pit with grill and picnic table.
On the first night we were awoken to rustling through our stuff in the other room and when I checked it out a mouse booked it out of there. Not a big deal but my fiance and I found it a little hard to sleep after that. Be sure to keep any food in your car rather than the cabin. Another night an army of raccoons made its way through our campsite, despite all our food being put away. On our way out we told the ranger about the mouse in the cabin and they didn't seem phased by it, I don't expect they did much to fix the hole (which we spotted the next day and tried to cover). Would have preferred just to stay in a tent and save a bit if the cabin is so obviously penetrable.

We’ve been going to this resort for 35+ years and can’t get enough. The Ryan family puts hospitality first, Friday night movie on the beach, Saturday feed the beach lunch is worth a weeks admission, a swim area kids could only dream of. What more do you need. If easy access camping or beautiful redone rustic cabins fit your bill this place will want you to come back for more.
LegendTruly awesome site in every sense of the word. There is a gorgeous 14 mile trail from the campsite through a deep green canyon that takes you by 10+ waterfalls. This place is straight out of Jurassic park. The hike itself is easy to moderate and takes you behind a couple falls as well. I've stayed twice, once in a tent and once in a group cabin. The cabin was giant, enough to fit a hundred people if necessary. It has a large fire place in the middle of the great room, with stacks of wood on hand to purchase, as used, the next morning. Or you can provide your own. There is a separate room for chaperones or parents as well as a nicely outfitted commercial kitchen. Highly recommended for youth gatherings or wedding receptions. Plan to book at least a year in advance as it is popular, and the cost is fairly reasonable. This is a must see destination for true Oregonians as well as transplants. Great photo ops, swimming spots and has an interprative center. … Can't seem to locate other pics, so hopefully I can post those at a later date.

GuideThe people in the office are fantastic - that’s the pro here. The cons are a bit longer unfortunately. There are a lot of cabins and motorhome sites packed into this little place making it so you are very close to your neighbors- no privacy. The motorhome sites along the view of the bridge are very close together and our site is all gravel so that’s not very desirable either. The last unfortunate thing is that you can’t walk to a beach.
LegendSilver Falls is magical! The forecast was for rain but it held off long enough for us to have dinner and a campfire. Then rained all night which make for incredible waterfalls the next day. Great for families. Sadly the cabins were dirty with mice droppings and the restaurant was unable to make food for us. Silver Falls State Park= 5 stars. The "resort" 2 stars. I really hope they can improve the cooking and cleaning part of the resort. It really is a lovely place.

My family enjoyed our stay by Olivia Beach and would recommend this sweet spot! The hosts were easy to communicate with and super hospitable. All the amenities are available to make for a very comfortable stay. There is also a grill and fire pit available to use just beyond the front entrance of the cabin. We loved that the beach was just a short walk away. Also really enjoyed a hike in the forest nearby at Drift Creek Falls Trail. The suspension bridge and waterfall were amazing!

Came here to meet up with a Facebook camping group. It was one member's favorite place and I see why! Nice level sites with water and electric. Dump station on site. The sites are private with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are very nice. Peeked inside some of the creekside cabins. Those look super cute.
The main attraction here is the South Santiam River, which in October is stunning. Would love to visit in the summer when can actually take a dip. It's a great place to come and sit and meditate, watch the birds, just relax. Love it here!
