Great location

We are out of the typical camping season. It is a beautiful campground with a short drive to the beach. They are adding wifi throughout the park and should be Spring 2022.

Excellent campground & great location

Beautifully wooded campground with many amenities. Most sites are separated with trees/shrubs and some sites overlook Pacific Ocean (hard to get). Some sites have steep access.

Hiking trail to ocean that is steep in some areas, but worth the journey. Trail ends at secluded beach with incredible views.

Restrooms & showers are clean and well-maintained. Campground does not have WiFi, but looks like they are adding it. Fairly good cell phone reception.

Quiet stay in the woods

This campground is absolutely beautiful to me. It's nestled in the woods next to the beach with the cute little town of Pacific City just 5 minutes away. The staff was very friendly. We have yet to meet an unfriendly staff member at a Thousand Trails campground. There are two entrances... Just make sure you go in the one with the big sign. The other is actually used moreso as an exit. Some of the roads get a bit steep so be slow and cautious. We have a 38' rig. If you have a bigger rig we were told to avoid the Section I because it's hard to turn around. We went towards Section E instead. With a 2 week stay we needed sewer hookups which are very limited. We got space E1 which was fairly private, full hookups, 50 amp, and right by the bathrooms too. If you come to Section E do NOT turn around at the bathroom. It's too tight. Go straight to the turnaround at the end and come back. We saw way too many people almost trash their rigs. It looks like there are some higher up spots that have amazing views but they were all already taken. Limited services at them though.

The facilities all looked great! Well kept and nice. The lodge is the one place with internet since the repeaters weren't functional yet. Someone mentioned people keep hitting them too much to get them up and running yet. The  indoor pool is clean and next to an outdoor hot tub. Some of the recreational amenities are a bit worn but I can understand not keeping them up as it doesn't seem like people use them much anyways. There are a few spots to just sit and look out at the ocean that we enjoyed. There's also a nice trail that goes down to the ocean. You do cross the road so just watch out there. It's marked for cars to be aware too.

The sand dunes nearby are a great spot to see. We also hung out for a bit at the beach in Pacific City. Tillamook is a short drive and worth the trek as well as Cape Meares to the north.

Nice Place, but ...

We spent A few days over the New Year 2021 holiday. We new the weather would be raining with New Years Eve mainly dry. Hit that just right. The Beach was a lot of fun, the dogs loved it and The town of Pacific City is nice. As for the camping sites, the best part is they are mostly all private and we loved that. The sound of the ocean was nice. Some sites have an ocean view. Full hook ups were not very well marked and frankly hard to find. There is only one bar 1x or 3g cell service. No WiFi unless you drive to the pool area. The spots are dirt, not completely level and the sewer hookup flooded.

We received the Thousand Trails membership free with our trailer purchase so it was worth the free price. Not certain I’d pay for it.

Wasn’t worth the price

The price is not equal to the amenities and campground. The sites were uneven, dirt, and a lot of the large spots were taken by tent campers. We struggled to find a large enough camping spot. Perhaps first come first serve could be for lower price points with reservations holding a spot or some larger spots designated RV only? All the full service sites had no water due to a leak that has been ongoing for over a month. The swimming pool was only open two days of the week so we didn’t get to enjoy that either.

The trail to the beach was beautiful but for some would not be feasible as it was steep and bad footing in some areas. Bathrooms were very clean and the staff were very helpful and kind.

MUST READ***

I will start with, maybe if weather was nicer my review would be different but who are we kidding, it’s the Oregon coast....

I read through each one of these existing reviews prior to going and now that we have visited I can only conclude that they were paid for. This place is filthy, there are maybe 2 spots (that aren’t full time residence) that have full hookups so if you show up late you definitely won’t be getting one. Every spot we saw was so un-level that my trailer couldn’t compensate enough to have a comfortable stay. On top of that, everything was under construction (which is ridiculous considering they had months during covid to really fix everything).

Bottom line, if you like being damp, dirty and camping in a very poorly maintained park then this is the place for you.

Note* the only reason it gets even one star is because it was absolutely beautiful and if it was maintained a little better it could be an amazing resort.

Thousand Trails Pacific City is Great Place To Stay

Thousand Trails Pacific City This was a very nice Thousand Trails. We stay three nights from September 27th through September 30th, 2019, in campsite D15, the stay was free due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site had electricity and water hook up. The site was level and backed up to McPhillips Drive, we could hear vehicles passing during the day, however, the night was not an issue. The site was quiet and very private. The tall trees and bushes separated us from our camping neighbors.

The campground is at an elevation of 75 ft. and our 28 ft travel trailer easily fits with room to spare in our site. Once we entering the campground, the campground roads are all asphalt as we selected our campsite. The weather was high overcast in the low 60's, the nights low 40s. It did rain hard on Friday and Saturday night, also rained Sunday afternoon. This is a very quiet campground, activities we found at the campground to keep busy were Billiards, a very nice indoor pool, and a warm outdoor spa. The campground has clean free showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a 5 minute walk from our campsite.

Since we arrived on a Friday school day, the campground as not full, there was no waiting for showers. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we hiked at Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda. Had a great time, we will be back to stay at this Thousand Trails.

What a blast

We didn’t anticipate something quite this amazing! There was no cell service but that didn’t matter. The views of the ocean from most of the upper loops near the lodge/pool were breathtaking. The beach access trail was perfectly located near our camp spot and another trail up near the lodge have amazing views of Cape Kiwanda. Kids really enjoyed camping here. Kept clean, and stocked with games and things to do in clubhouse.

Love this Campground!

We have stayed at Pacific City a few times now and I love the campground! They have a large jacuzzi and an indoor pool! They are doing some maintenance this year but thankfully it hasn’t been a bother for us. I would say though that the internet/cell service this year has been an issue. We work from home and normally would not have any issues with having internet. This year though, we have absolutely no cell service at the campground and the Free Wifi has been non-existent. But we found a nice little library in town that has free WiFi for when we need to get some work done!

Best camping on the Oregon Coast

Lots of options here. Tent sites and small cabins that are somewhat private. There are good bathrooms with showers on site, a sand volleyball court, a store, little wild bunnies running around, and great fire pits at each site. What more could you ask for!? The ocean is a 5 minute walk from the site and you can rent sandboards to ride down the dunes of Cape Kiwanda (it's a serious workout!). Not to be missed.
