Lake Sahoma
Lake Sahoma, near Oklahoma, is a straightforward camping spot that caters to both tent and RV campers. With sites right by the water, it’s a solid choice for those who want to fish or just kick back and enjoy the view.
The campground offers essential amenities like electric hookups and drinking water, making it comfortable for a weekend stay. Visitors have mentioned the friendly vibe, with some even enjoying cookouts and campfires together. One camper noted, “Everyone's like family there,” which really captures the spirit of the place.
While the lake is primarily for fishing, there are some spots for kayaking, though you’ll need to navigate around the trees. The area is mostly shaded, which is a plus on hot days, but be aware that the main road runs through the park, so you might hear some traffic noise.
If you’re planning to stay, remember to bring your own firewood or purchase it from the attendants, as there’s no firewood provided on-site. Lake Sahoma is a simple, no-frills location that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway, especially if you’re looking to spend quality time with family or friends.
