First RV stay so this review is from the perspective of a family that has no experience with any RV Parks. 3 Stars is my starting point and as we stay at more campgrounds I would like to think that we will have a better understanding of what makes an RV stay "5 stars". This location is "first come/first serve" sites so for a beginner that can be a bit challenging. Working with Thousand Trails and the experience with that service was great. The road into and around the park was okay, there was room to drive around the entire park while looking for a spot. The spot's varied in size and there were no fire pits or grills provided by the park in the spots that we were able to see. The picnic tables have seen better days and i'm sure that is not uncommon. The 30 amp S/E/W hookups were clean and no issues with any service during the stay. There was not cable so TV was over the air antenna only. Cell coverage was fine during our stay. The park had activity areas but with COVID restrictions most were still unused. There is road to the lake that you can take to go to a small fishing pier and some rocky lake area access. The restrooms/showers were clean and the garbage bins were full but never overflowing with trash. There are multiple pools and the water appeared clear from a distance. Saw lot's of pet's and every size RV, there appeared to be quite a few long term RV sites. We would visit again since this is part of our Thousand Trails membership.

We've been staying at this gated RV Resort since May, 2023. The new owners are amazing! Customer service is top notch and they do everything to make you feel at home. There is complimentary trash pickup, a dog walking area with dog stations, benches for relaxing and watching stunning sunsets, on-site laundry, propane and ice for sale and a fish cleaning station. Park also has complimentary wif-fi and Verizon and AT&T work well here. Owners are currently in the process of remodeling the office, 3 bathrooms and they are adding a fitness area. There will be a general store complete with snack items and ice cream once complete. All sites are full hook up, 30 and 50 amp sites available. Lake Texoma and the boat launch is 1/4 mile away. The owners provide complimentary boat launch passes too. There is a casino with cafe approximately 1 mile away, 9-hole golf course about 2 miles away and multiple restaurants and shopping within a half hour. We also went on a fishing charter with Triple Header Fishing Guide (thfgtx@gmail.com) and it was so fun. We highly recommend this RV Resort. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Overall, I was very well pleased with the whole Park and especially the people. Apparently the management of the RV Park has been recently re-organized. The red rose River Rv Park is now Ardmore Lakes RV resort. The RV service area is still separate with the old version of the name. I was very interested in having some work done on my fifth wheel so I called them about that in advance. I arranged to stay four days and have five solar panels mounted on my RV. That worked out very well. I ended up staying another full week. I have to say the expenses were well worth it, but topped out my budget for the month. Seven nights was $350 even though in December about all of the amenities were shut down. They do have a storm shelter, just in case.
GuideThis RV park is one of our favorites. The amenities are amazing, concrete pads, full hook ups, a fishing pond, great pool, volleyball, basketball, and dog park made our 10 day stay incredible. I didn’t use them, but my husband said the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest he’s ever seen. Aside from how great the actual park is, the staff is amazing, best customer service ever and they do all they can to make you feel welcome.
The park is minutes from the marina, a fishing pier, and great hiking. We just left and are already booking another trip this summer.

This is one of our favorite tent and trailer camping locations in Oklahoma. It is quiet with all the hookups you need plus restrooms and showers within in a close walk on Loop C where reservations are required. Great sunset views over the Lake of the Arbuckles, great hiking in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, and close shopping in Sulphur.

Noticed on my second walk this morning the garbage dumpsters are all the way to the west end of the campground near where long term RVs are But also they have two very large safe rooms underground with ventilation in case of severe weather. Hiking is must-do with caves and waterfalls. Swimming along the falls is also quite memorable (bring water shoes, though not required). They have screened-in shelters for eating and camping, which tells you bugs can be an issue here. Other camping options include cabins, full RV hookup, and tent sites. None of these are along the water, but you can walk to the falls on a trail. None of the sites are shady or have great privacy. Camp store, restaurants, souvenir shop. Busy but well-deserved popularity. Enough to do to spend a whole weekend. Not far from Chickasaw Park and Cultural center.
ScoutCampground is newer and paved pull throughs are very long and wide. With paved patio for our site. We had 38’ 5th wheel w 4 slides and still had room on sides and behind RV for 2nd vehicle. Patio area on sites do not have picnic tables which is one reason I did not give them a 5. Being right off interstate is convenient but you will hear traffic during daytime. We heard nothing in bedroom overnight though. Robin owner is super friendly and helpful! Bathrooms closest to us were nice and clean. Huge shower area. I’d say 20% of RVs are here long term Some a little sloppy in appearance and others do very nice job in their lot. One resident is a Police Officer and his cruiser is parked there when he is off duty. But very safe area and comfortable. Definitely stay here again

We stayed here for 2 weeks over Labor Day 2020. It is a secluded, large property far away from any road noise so it is very quiet. All sites have FHU 30/50 amp. Sites are either grass or some gravel. Our site, 25, was shady, grassy and level with room for us to park our car next to our MH. The owners are pleasant and helpful. When we arrived they were on vacation but they had a woman watching the park. She told us to pick any site. Our Verizon was 2 bars of 4G and I was told that AT&T is sketchy here. There is plenty of shopping in nearby Ardmore. There is 1 set of showers, a laundry room and 3 community fire pits. There are no dog runs but it seems nobody pays attention to the“Pets must be leashed and under control” rule. In my opinion this is one of those places where“Resort” is a misnomer. No picnic tables, cable, WiFi. Pool or other amenities associated with other RV Resorts. If you are in the area, especially for Lake Murray, you don’t need those other conveniences and enjoy peace and quiet this is a good place for you. Website is www.shangri-larvresort.com

Might have given 5 stars but both pools are shut down and it's HOT! Lake is accessible- about half a mile down a private road. Interior roads are a bit rough. Lake Texoma State Park has a few different campgrounds. We stayed at Catfish Bay for a quick little weekend getaway.
The campground was nice, quiet, and clean. There were a lot of families and about 50/50 RVs and tents, although most of the tents were in a separate area further down the peninsula.
The RV section has both full hookups and water/electric hookups. The prettiest sites are the ones without sewer, and the next time we go for just a weekend we'll pick one of those. Most of the RV sites have nice, level concrete pads (except the one we choose ... spot 11 ... crushed granite). The full hookup sites are packed in like a row of dominoes but there's plenty of room for awnings and slide-outs.
The park has a marina where you can get ice, beverages, chips, etc. You can also rent boats and tubes for the day.
All-in-all it was a nice weekend and we will probably go back.

On this turn out of the Lake there are three campgrounds, this being the most Tent friendly of the three. There are spaces equipped with electrical connections or primitive sites in an open area which are comparable for tents. Both of these sites allow a wide open feel close to the shore line with plenty of room to move around comfortably.
After entering Tipp’s point you first find the day use pavilion and vault toilets. Just beyond that on the left is parking for the open tent area which has scattered grills and a couple of community picnic tables set in the open area. This is ideal for groups that are larger or just the person who wants to dry camp.
to the right are a group of non-primitive sites for RVs and tents. While these are closer together they are not as cluttered feeling as the sites at both the cover or elephant rock. Beyond this point are more RV sites, a shower house and playground.
This campground when I visited was the least used of the three on this turn out. While there were probably a dozen or so campers in the firSt part of the section if was very wide open feeling. The water levels were pretty high and had encroached upon some of the sites near the shower house while higher level sites remained safe.

TravelerThis is a great new RV Park. It's less than half a mile east of I-35 but I cannot hear any traffic noise at all. It is less than 4 years old. 90 % of the sites are pull through, long enough for any size rig. All concrete pads, dead level with tables. The bathrooms and showers are pristine. WIFI is fast enough to stream 40Mbps, there is cable TV with over 70 channels. It is 7 miles from Ardmore, OK, where you can find all the chain restaurants plus local fare. You are about 40 miles from Gainsville Texas, 70 from Denton. There is a fishing pond onsite, about 1 acre in size. They charge $5.00 extra for a site next to the pond. It's worth it. Rolling hills beyond the pond with no other buildings in sight. The park is only a few miles from Lake Murry State Park. I only stayed 1 night on my way back to Dallas from the mountains, but it could be a great destination park too.

Pauls Valley City Lake (PVCL) is a nice litte lake and camp area just east of Pauls Valley, OK. The campgrounds aren't the best, but they aren't the worst. And actually, they seem to be working to upgrade the area. They just finished putting in more infrastructure to expand the number of full hookups. Some of the sites have concrete pads and some are just gravel. Ours was gravel but it was level. Plenty of water pressure and the electricity was clean. TV/antenna reception was poor, but that's not why we camp. AT&T cell-phone reception was pretty good ... not 5-bars but fast enough to stream video. The campground was quiet at night and everyone was friendly. They're also in the process of upgrading the playground for the kids. And there is also a little bait shop on site ran by the camp host.
I don't fish, but I've heard that PVCL is a good crappie lake. There are plenty of places to fish from the bank if you don't have a boat and there is also a fishing dock near the campround. Keep in mind that it is a recreational lake so expect boats, tubes, sea doos, etc. We enjoy kayaking and didn't have any trouble with it being too busy. If you kayak, head to the northeast side of the lake. There is a spot where you can land your rig, get out and have a picnic.
The campground sits on the west side of the lake so there are some pretty amazing sunrise photo ops. If you don't want to spend all your time on the water, Pauls Valley is a quaint little town with a toy museum, two-screen theater, brick streets, and Field's Pecan Pies. Plus at $20/night for full hookups, it's hard to beat.
