Nice small campground.. relaxing, great wooded views .. lake for swimming. Has full hook ups (W/E/S). Sights are pretty level, are newer so gravel still settling. We would come back here!
There are very few campgrounds near Cuyahoga Valley NP. Caskey's campground in Orrville is about 30 minutes away. Most of the campsites are occupied by long-term residents - only a few sites are used by people like us staying just a few nights. We were there for 3 nights. People were friendly enough. Sites have water and electric, and there's a dump station. The bathroom facilities are a little rough but functional. The road in is really bumpy so take it slow.
Nice drive through residential farms, beautiful views . The state park, has a mini golf course, lake, archery, equestrian sites electric, full hook up , elite sites, primitive tent sites etc. It was about $25 and a $6 reservation fee. Call or do online. They had showers and vault toilets far over 100 sites and a general store.
A clean park with about 45 sites total. Some are long term while others for shorter stays. They also have cabins and tent sites.
Nice pool, 1/2 court basketball court, playground, laundry and store.
They only challenge is you don’t want to meet a rig going out while you’re coming in. We are a 38 foot class A and met a 36’ 5th wheel on the curve at the entrance. We literally passed with less than an inch between us and I am pretty sure the 5th wheel went partially of the road.
But nice campground; quiet and clean.
Camped a long weekend for the fall festival. Campground was nice, quiet and people were friendly. Spots are roomy, with nice yard/fire space. Not all spots are full hook up, but some are. Shower houses are nice and clean. Had a lot of activities for the kids. Over all it was nice place, I would camp here again.
Dog park!! and right on the lake!! Found this by mistake on our way out, and the dogs loved it. Access to lake, a beach, well fenced. I would give Salt Fork SP extra stars for this one, especially if there were campsites co-located.
Camp ground is easily accessible being just 6 miles from I70, leaving the convenience of Cambridge and city amenities close by while allowing for great trails and solitude. Stayed in campground A, and the front end has little shade, but being here in autumn was perfect for lots of sunshine on site. Sites with trees for tree tents is minimal. Drinking fountains are dispersed fairly frequently throughout campground, but RV hookups with water were limited during my stay. Shower houses and comfort houses all have flushers and sinks.
TICK WARNING!!!! After a morning hike down wooded Trail, we spent A LONG TIME pulling ticks from dogs...even though the temps were in the 30's overnight and everyone was treated with flea & tick protection.
We stayed the weekend of September 17-19, 2021 and camped in the H area. The sites in this area were all level concrete with full hook-up. There was a large building with restrooms, showers, and laundry. We were able to enjoy a local band perform on the camp site. Plenty of hiking/walking/biking and Atwood Lake for Kayaking and boating. The site had enough room to park a second vehicle if needed. We truly enjoyed the stay and would return. Sites fill-up fast at Atwood Lake. Plus the historic Zoar Village, was near-by to visit.
There are a lot of great full hook up sites here. Great for families and couples alike. It is a state park so if you are looking for a full blown activities schedule that is not going to happen. But the park is super nice and well taken care of. Private boat marina and beech for the campers. And the lake is very clean. Shower houses are clean and all have coin operated laundry in them
Grand Vue has a brand new rv camping park. 40 spots with full hookups. A gated campground with a paved main road running through. The lots are gravel and somewhat level. A cute restaurant is close by along with restrooms and showers that are also brand new. Firewood is for sale at the main office for $20 and they deliver to you. GrandVue has many things to do including games, climbing, and of course those huge zip lines (the longest over 2000 feet). We have stayed here twice to be sure before writing a review. The staff is friendly and the location remote but close enough to Moundsville WV you can explore so many things. We will be back. 50amp, 30amp hookups at all sites
Great campground! Level sites with full hookups. 50amp. Plenty of space between spots. Shower house is beautiful and CLEAN. Includes a very nice laundry room. Views of the lake and ability to launch and dock your boat within walking distance of sites. Beach with concessions within walking distance of sites as well. Top rated campground.
This campground used to be amazing. Now it is only so so. Roads are in desperate need of a load of gravel at the least, replaced at the most. Sites are vet close, like we felt bad hooking into all of our full hook up because the sewer hose was right in the middle of the next campsite. The girl at check in was very helpful. But note everything shuts down at 6. Store, pool, laundry room…everything. The lake is ok at best. Back in the day you could swim in it, now it is full of growth and the docks are falling apart. It is like the owners do not care if they update or not. Four showers in the shower house and 2 didn’t have curtains. Walmart is literally 5 min down the road. Buy some curtains. Would more than likely not come back to this one
We were very pleased with this rv park. They keep the grounds well maintained, the playground also well maintained. The bathrooms, showers and laundry areas were very clean. There also was not an issue with biting insects- none of us got a mosquito bite during our stay here.
We stayed here November 21, 2020 (in the midst of Covid).
The campground had no water hookups, about 90% of the sites were not level (and....I mean by A LOT).
We were one of the only people in the campground, so we ended up just moving to one of the more level campgrounds.
It's a cute campground, but a lot of the RV spots are unlevel up a hill, so backing in would be a hassle. Wouldn't stay here again.
Family oriented campground. Fairly large sites with full hookups. Good mix of seasonal and overnight. Friendly staff. Roads in the campground are very rough with large potholes. Decent WiFi. Easy on and off from the interstate.
The views are amazing! If you love peace and quiet this is the place for you. All sites are amongst the very tall trees. There are several ponds around the campground for fishing and bird watching. Be sure to keep an eye our for deer as you come into the park! We had to stop a few times for them to move out of the driveway. All sites are full hookups. The other 7 campers here this weekend all appear to be longer term/seasonal. This wasn't a problem for us as they were working during the day and quiet at night.
Cons: The sites are a bit close, think KOA close. This might be a turnoff if the campground was full. The weekend we stayed there were 8 total campers, lots of empty sites between campers.
I took our popup camper here with the family for a weekend and had a great experience. The camp has lots of RV type spots with electric hookups. There are also several "primitive" spots available for tent camping. Reserving a spot is super easy with the park's online reservations.
The park has lots of activities including several nice hiking trails, a playground, late night movies for the kids on Saturdays in the summer, and a really great beach on the lake (with shower houses!) There is water available all throughout the campsite area at several faucets as well as bathrooms and a shower house, both of which were clean and in good working order.
I highly recommend this park for any kind of RV camping and will likely return in the future.
This campground has three main sections, one for permanent campers and boaters, the new section (Section 5 which is great) and another primitive section up on the hill. Section 5 is the bomb!! We stayed in the 5-520-531 section. Sites are new, clean, full hookups, with plenty of paved surfaces to park. Camper sites are level and the hookups are new and easy to use.
Last weekend we stayed at Tappan Lake Park in Deersville Ohio. We reserved a spot in the “new section 5” of the park. I haven’t been to Tappan lake in probably 15 years with a RV. I have to say I was very happy with the facilities (restrooms, showers, and laundromat). The park was relatively clean and well organized. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although they were sold out of firewood they did direct us to a place about a half mile away that sells some. Volleyball courts, and basketball courts were all in good condition. Plenty of hiking trails throughout the park. The beach probably could have been better because of the Canadian goose 💩 all over (to be fair though I only stopped there once and it could have been cleaned up after I checked it out). The lots in section 5 were all concrete full hookup sites and pretty much level. Water pressure was good and had no issues with the power. I will say if you are a tv watcher you may be out of luck here as no reception was found on any stations. I did receive about 2 radio stations while there also. I have AT&T cell service and found 1 and 2 bars throughout the park. I enjoyed the stay there and so did the rest of the family. The other folks camping were all very friendly and you just can’t wave fast enough here as everyone else already had their hands up waving at us (friendly folks). The park has a small camp store with the essentials and a small grill that had things like hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, etc. The only thing I was missing was a golf cart with a radio apparently because they were all over the place but not disrespectfully loud. I would recommend Tappan Lake Park in Ohio. It was a nice quick getaway that had some nice offerings. If you go I recommend stopping up the road at the Deersville General Store for some great tasting ice cream.
We loved our stay. This place is so nice and clean. The staff is wonderful. Every site is full hookup. Ok
It is a very well maintenance campsite most have fire pits a lot of level ground for tent camping pull in parking spots for RVs and campers a bathroom on site and two different trails to hike fishing minutes away the gun rage is also near (the gunshots don’t bother me) must register when you arrive at the box attached to the bathroom building can’t beat it for FREE
Nice campground with full hookups and large pool. Prefect if you don’t want cell service. Lots of trails for riding. Great views. Could use some updating in some areas.
Many many unlevel spots in nonelectric sites. Only one playground in full hookup RV area, hard to get to. Beach access hike is at least 1.7 miles walk from loop C. You have to drive to many of the hikes and beach especially if you have children. Positives are it's very quiet. You don't see many people on hikes. Mineral springs are cool. We rented a boat for fam of 4 with motor, was $20 an hour, best part of trip.
Nice to see sailboats on the lake. All new camping spots with full hookup. Grass is coming in nicely. Kids love the playgrounds and being able to bike or scoot all around. Shower house's are superb. Great fishing. Beach needs some attention.
Great spot close to Akron and the Cuyahoga Valley NP. You can fish and kayak the reservoir. No full hookup but, there is a dump station. Nice playground. Used to be a state park, now run by Summit County metro parks.
Atwood lake os a true gem . Has everything you need. The H campground loops are full hookups, some right on the water. Electric, and primitive sites too. Pets welcome on a leash, a beach and hikng also. Docks available 50' from out waterfront lot. We could leave our camper, take the boat over to the beach and drop off the grandkids and me the Nana for swimming at the beach dock. Good fishing, clean clean clean. Staff at rhe marina are very helpful. There is a snack shop and a full restaurant at the marina with great food, an ice cream dariette just down the road. I highly recommend trying it, you wont regret it!
Located right in a lake it’s great for relaxing and watching the sailboats go by. The site have large concrete pads with full hookups. They offer a nice laundry facility and also a small camp store. They have several hiking trails and a fire tower that’s fun to climb. Will definitely go back. Site 919
Wwhile the campground is designed for mostly RV. camping, we have never had a problem finding a tent site. Has so many things to do.
