A large campground spread out over multiple loops. Roads and campsites are paved. Our site #416 was spacious and secluded at the end of a dead end road. The bathhouse was a short hike away and in good condition.
we arrived during a halloween kids party. the hostess was super nice. the women’s showers and wash rooms clean. the men’s shower was sport locker style.
There are a lot of people here, but even during the day we hardly hear any loud noises coming from any of the other campers. Walking the property (as much as I can with my cane) everyone is so friendly. The grounds are kept very clean. The people from the office actually do garbage pick-up anytime during office hours! Just place your trash bag/ other items to be thrown away at the front of your site and they take it away. They even have recycling, but you have to take that up yourself. They won't just tell you where it is, they will show you. I haven't been to a KOA site in 15 years and the one I went to was not a great experience, but I highly recommend staying here if you're passing through Cincinnati.
This is a large campground with everything you need. Nice, clean, family friendly campground. Has many private sites backed up to trees. Shower houses has always been clean.
Description of this site is that it's moderate sloping (from front down to back. Definitely true. Pretty muddy site, due to large amounts of rain, but most sites are level and less shaded.
Restrooms awful (full of spider ) . There is no shade . And too expensive
Now called Unhitched RV Park. I’m quite liberal with my rating so 4 star may be generous. There are quite a few weekender / extended stay sites but they all look clean without too many extensive built-ins. People were all very friendly, desk attendant was excellent with great information and very accommodating. Site workers are busy keeping the place tidy and are nice people. We stayed at the upper sites with plenty of of mature trees for shade. Near the river is very wide open. Had a pull through site with plenty of room for everything. Hook ups are all properly located for standard equipment. Some sites need leveling but ours only used one block under left side. Pool is very nice and we waited for a quiet time to go. New management has taken over recently, so name is now Unhitched RV Park. Showers, laundry, small camp store. Couldn’t get Wi-Fi to work day 1. It can get very busy with golf carts and 4 wheelers. Generally we had a nice site with reasonable privacy. Also the area has a lot to offer with the local small towns.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Resort is well maintained with spacious spots. We have stayed here often and will continue to do so in the future.
Camping near Oxford, Ohio offers diverse experiences across Butler and Preble counties in southwestern Ohio. Biking trails: Miami Whitewater Forest Campground offers excellent cycling infrastructure. John M. explains, "Also a great bike trail (7.8 and 1.6 mile paved loops), disc golf, kids sprayground and 18 hole golf course." The park connects to broader regional trail systems.
Hiking and backpacking: More challenging terrain awaits at Dayton Metro Parks (Five Rivers Metroparks), where the Twin Valley Trail provides serious elevation changes. A camper describes it as "a great backpacking trail that's challenging and an easy middle meeting place for friends/family from Columbus and Cincinnati that can meet in Dayton Metroparks/Five Rivers - Germantown and take on the TVT challenge."
Farm visits: Several campgrounds include educational agricultural components. At Possum Creek in Five Rivers MetroParks, a reviewer noted, "In addition to the lake, they also had a farm on the property that was enjoyable for the kids to see the animals. Privacy levels: Campers frequently mention site spacing as a key factor when camping near Oxford. Weekday tranquility: Many reviewers mention the significant difference between weekend and weekday camping experiences. One camper at Hueston Woods shared: "I would not want to stay when it's busy or on the weekends. The reservoir beach and watercraft fishing appears a big draw."
Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds in the Oxford area have topographical issues. At Brookville Lake, a reviewer warned, "The camp sites are pretty far apart at least twice as far as in private campgrounds... More problematic is that most have slopes. A few too steep to level a trailer."
