Natural Springs Resort sits on a spring-fed quarry outside New Paris, Ohio, drawing campers who come specifically for the water. The lake is clear and cold, and reviewers consistently note it runs noticeably warmer in late summer, making August and September worth considering if swimming is the priority. The resort operates year-round and accepts reservations, which matters here since a large share of the sites appear to be rented on a seasonal basis, leaving fewer spots open for short-term visitors.
Site quality is one of the more common concerns in reviews. Many spots are small and positioned close together, giving portions of the campground a parking-lot feel rather than a wooded retreat. A site near the water can make up for the tight spacing, and the resort has shown willingness to relocate campers when complaints are raised. Some sites do have shade, but they are in the minority.
The water itself is the main draw. Jeremiah G. notes the lake gives access to "beach, fishing, boating, and scuba diving," and the resort also has a pool, golf cart rentals, a camp store, and food service on site. Amenities have been inconsistently available across different visits, including a pool that reviewers have described as unheated despite advertising, and a splash pad that was still under construction during multiple 2021 visits but appears to have been completed since.
Full hookups are available for RVs up to 70 feet, including 30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer. WiFi is on site. Noise can be an issue, particularly from golf cart traffic in the evenings and campers who run music late. Quiet hours are not reliably enforced, so light sleepers should plan accordingly. Nearby alternatives include Camp Mahanaim and Archway Campground, both within a couple of miles. Campers resupplying can reach stores and restaurants in about 25 minutes. Booking in advance is advisable, especially for summer weekends when seasonal campers occupy much of the property.
