Nice but bathrooms need updated

The campground and area is nice. The campers are pretty much all about the water activities. The big lake is nice and long with multiple no wake areas. There are a couple of beach areas. The camp bathrooms are concrete block and pretty clean but old and need updates. Great shower pressure! The…

Lots of rules posted everywhere.

Clean but not very hospitable. They did let us switch campsites since ours was muddy, but they didn't call ahead of time and let us know they weren't letting people on the water which is the only activity they have available so there was nothing to do.

Really Well Done

There are cabins, campsites in trees, campsites that aren’t. There’s a nice Mixture of available sites. All the employees are very nice and helpful. They really work hard to maintain the site. The pool is nice. There is a nice play area for kids. They have a short path in the woods which is a…

Great place, great time!

Stayed during covid, at a quarter the sites. They were having their Christmas in July celebration. Great time for kids and adults. Very friendly locals.

Nice, clean campground with lots to do

This is the second year we have been there.  Very cute town of Brookville for shopping and or rafting on the nearby river.  Campground very clean w/ lots of bath/shower locations.  Lots of electric site - only negative was there were very few full hook up sites so need to reserve those early. …

Great place to stay, just watch your reservation

Hueston Wood, a real gem. The park is about 3000 acres with a beautiful sailing / fishing lake. There is a beautiful lodge and golf course, archery range, and plenty of hiking paths and equestrian paths.

The biggest issue for us was the description of the site at C36 was nothing like the…

Would totally go back

While I will agree the campsites are not large and they are close together you don’t feel that way once you get settled. There’s plenty for families to do and the hosts are very nice. The bathrooms are clean but not luxurious. There are decent showers as well. Everything is well marked except for…

Pleasant state park

We stayed two nights, 3 & 4 July. The park was very full and our campsite was at the very back of the park, but our "back yard" ran right to the edge of the woods so we were very secluded.

The park staff had our credentials ready when we arrived, and there was even a "Welcome" sign with our…

Bison and more at the park

The park has some great gems and also some areas that can use some TLC (Tender Loving Care).  Check in is at 2PM and Check out is at 1PM.  What really sticks out beside the Bison are the racoons. They also have a wide variety of playgrounds so if you need more than one big toy this is the park for…

Peace and Quiet at the lake

This is one of my favorite campsites in Ohio.  5 Rivers Metro Parks really knows how to provide a great camping experience.  They provide a bundle of firewood for each night that you have reserved the site.  In addition, you can easily purchase more wood that will be right there at the site for…

  • 2 lovely tables for the crowd to sit at which makes it nice one table for cooking and the other table to eat at without feeling crowded.
  • They provide firewood at this site and you can purchase more which I always do to support the 5 Rivers Metro Parks. This is a win win as they can sell the old dead trees as firewood and your car never has to have firewood in it for your camping trip. It also helps to reduce the spread of invasive species such as various bugs that have caused damage to the region/trees etc.
