Mountain Stream RV Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road. We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. RV or campers required as restrooms are not available. Tents are certainly welcome with an accompanying camper with a restroom. Feel free to bring as many tents and additional guests as you would like! Just know they will have to share the camper restroom. A sanded campsite will comfortably fit a large camper or RV. WiFi is through satellite internet so during inclement weather or high traffic times, internet will be slow. WiFi is for basic web surfing, work tasks and communication only. Video streaming (Netflix, Tik-tok etc) is not permitted to preserve data for future guests. Who wants to watch Greys Anatomy while camping anyway? VOIP and video conferencing is prioritized over all other connections but the quality is not guaranteed.
Firewood from a local supplier is available for purchase, on site, by the honor system. The price is 20 dollars per wheel barrow filled to the height of your choosing.

We stayed here one night on our way through the area. The owners were very nice and helped us get situated in our site. The roads in the campground are dirt, rutted, and steep. I am glad we unhooked our Jeep before navigating our RV to the site. The RV rocked and rolled quite a bit :-) The site was level, clean with full hook-ups. The price was very reasonable. Most campers were seasonal or long-term campers.

There are lovely trails, a large playground, nature center, the beautiful lake Wylie {no swimming, NC fishing license required}, geocaching, clean bathrooms and shower rooms, electric sites with large tent pads, good sized fire pit area, picnic table.. there’s even a loving gate with a code for a more secure camping experience..
We could fit 3 tents in one pad AND had a hammocker camper too.
If you are wanting some nature near the city, this is a good option - especially if you are checking out city things in Charlotte.
You can hear traffic at night when camping here so bring ear plugs, headphones or a white noise fan if that bothers you.

We stayed from August 1, 2023 to October 30, 2023. This place is toxic. You will have no privacy. If the park cameras aren't watching your every move, the long term residents are.
Indian Springs RV Park claims to be a destination for all, but our experience told a different story. From the outset, the owner's demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. It's clear that this park caters primarily to long-term older renters, which left us feeling like outsiders.
The pet rules were not only archaic but also overly strict. Our furry companions felt like prisoners rather than cherished members of our family. This level of rigidity made our stay uncomfortable and less enjoyable.
The wilderness trail, advertised as a natural escape, was a disappointment. Instead of a serene, well-maintained environment, we encountered a trash-strewn path that reflected a lack of care for the natural surroundings. We had a problem with roaches, which I can only assume came from unkempt trailers residing next to us.
Families with children should think twice before booking here. The park lacks kid-friendly amenities and activities, making it an unsuitable environment for young ones. It's clear that this place is geared towards a specific demographic, neglecting the needs of a more diverse clientele.
Perhaps most frustrating was the inconsistency in park rules. It became evident that decisions were made to suit the owner's preferences rather than ensuring a positive experience for all guests. This lack of transparency left us feeling undervalued and frustrated.
In conclusion, Indian Springs RV Park may be ideal for a specific demographic, but it falls short of providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for a broader range of guests. We left with a sense of disappointment and will not be returning. It's important for the management to be honest about their target audience to avoid misleading potential visitors.

Their current focus is providing a campground to the traveling nurses that are coming through the area but they do have some flexibility for travelers. Kim was fantastic at helping us with arriving early due to hurricane Ian and Mike was on site with a rain coat when we did finally show up! That’s just amazing compassion that you might not get elsewhere larger. Great Wi-Fi, level sites, and easy access to everything you could need.

For the 3 pages of rules and regulations I was expecting a pristine campground; what we found was a half paved parking lot and our lot was on a hill side which made using our full hookups going up hill. GuideWe were hesitant based on the reviews of “steep grade” but found this entirely manageable (24’ motor home RV). The grade is 7% and is managed through a long gentle slope in/out. The only time I’d be concerned about the entrance would be in a driving rain. Beyond that there is a central area of RV spots with nice distance between them. There are some trees but mostly around the perimeter. We were just overnight, so did not acquaint ourselves with the amenities. I would echo there are no bath houses. Friendly manager and friendly campers, most of whom appear to be permanent. They have only a small number of available slots and she would not allow me to reserve the day before — I had to call the day of to see if they still had an opening, which added to our trip insecurity. They did not take cards, we paid cash. They are in the middle of expanding with a set of new RV spaces ‘up the hill’. This was more of a grade than the entrance, but quite manageable. The long spot (# 33) was pull-through, very level, gravel, with all hookups. One RV pad per terrace. Close enough we could talk with our near neighbor but had loads of privacy. Up that high on the hill we heard a whisper of Interstate noise but that did not detract from the whip-or-will song at dusk. Overall a very nice RV park, one we would definitely stay at again.

We started our season out with this trip and had a blast. This was one of the best rv parks we have stayed at. We had a park that backed up to the big lake and had neighbors at both neighboring sites, we still had plenty of room. The people running the park were super friendly and took great pride in the park. We had firewood delivered to our site twice and they were very happy to do so. Big playground for our little girl and she had a blast. We will be returning soon.

Overall, this is a very nice, clean park conveniently located to the interstate I-85) and attractions in the area. It has all the amenities you would expect to find at a KOA such as a swimming pool, playground, dog park, miniature golf, store, clubhouse, and more (including goats). It is by far the nicest private campground in the area that we have stayed at.
This KOA has 127 sites offering varying degrees of services to accommodate RV's, tents, and those wanting to rent cabins. We chose a 50-amp full hook-up back-in site but were upgraded to a pull-thru so we could be in a sunny location to mitigate the chilly air. How nice of them! Our site (#79) was perfectly level as were most others (but not all). Water, electric, and cable hook-ups were well placed at the site and worked fine. We paid $37/night(with the KOA member discount). Nice, large grassy area for dogs to walk and sniff and there is a decent size dog park. Roads and pads are hard packed gravel with grass in between sites. Some sites are set in a wooded area while some are out in the open with plenty of sun and satellite coverage. The park is big rig friendly and the roads are easily navigable. All sites have a picnic table and some had fire pits but ours did not. Cable is included and offered over 50 channels. Wifi worked well at our site. The laundry was small with three washers and three dryers but very clean and had a decent book exchange. The bathroom and showers were super clean and looked like they were updated recently.
The campground is extremely clean and the owners/employees are super friendly. There is a short hiking trail (less than a mile) through the woods and plenty of green space in front of some of the pull-thrus. playground large swimming pool with large deck putt putt with lots of goat humor.
The only downside would be the closeness of sites but that is pretty much what you expect from private RV parks. Fortunately, we did not have neighbors right next to us which gave us more space. I'm usually not a KOA fan but have to say this one was great for our overnight stay and we would recommend it.

The sites in the back are very level but seem to have a bunch of long term and are reserved for bigger rigs. Bathrooms were very clean and the WiFi was excellent.

We stayed here for two nights in our Casita. It was ideal for us…we were close to Hendersonville and Brevard so we got to explore both towns. Nice scenic drives to get to both also. Manager Mike is the heart of this campground. He is kind, friendly and very helpful. He met us as were pulling in and then walked us to our site and helped guide us backing in. He had treats in his pocket for our little dog every time we saw him.The bath house is one of the cleanest we have ever seen. There was also complimentary firewood at our site. Just a short distance from a big grocery store and also a shopping center with places to eat. It was quiet and Mike is right there ready to help anytime.
Full hook ups, gravel sites for RVs with concrete pads for picnic tables. We were able to park on the gravel and step right out on the concrete.
We would definitely come back if in the area again.

The sites are very close together. The tent sites have a sand base to the site and sand gets everywhere! We were across from the bath house and the bath house was nice and clean but kinda small. Friendly atmosphere and it appears that most people are long term campers.

We stayed at Green Mountain for three nights. We picked a site without really knowing the layout of the park. Our site was #4 and it was easy to park. We had a deck at our site which was a but problematic due to our steps folding out, it took some finagling and leveling to get it to where we could close our door. The whole camper ground is nicely taken care of with some site far up on some hills, so if you stay, ask about where the site is and how easy it is to get into, some looked wild! The restrooms are very primitive, remind me of old church camp bathrooms I used to go to haha. There are some hiking trails that are accessible from the park. You can pick up a map from the front office. It is mountainous so be aware the trails are quite steep and strenuous but not super long. We did hike up to an overlook area and the fall colors were amazing. There is a gate entry card that costs $15 outside of the Thousand Trails network but when you check out they return the $15 if you return the card. Overall, this was a decent Campground.

We stayed at the park a couple of times. It’s a very nice county park with full hook ups. They are doing construction right now redoing the boat docks, beach and playgrounds area. It will be very nice when done. Some sites are a little small and some are not very level but if you call the campground hosts and rangers are very helpful in helping you get on the right sight.
LegendThis does not seem to be the typical KOA, and it is small compared to my recent visits to some other KOAs. However, it was very quiet with lots of shade, but tents are not allowed. There are cabins, and the remaining sites have RV hookups. There are several things I loved about this campground. There is a small creek running beside the campground, and I believe most of the sites run along the creek. It is a very clean campground with a family like atmosphere. I met the front desk clerk, Julie, who was very helpful, and I also met one of the owners, who was very friendly. What is really unique about this KOA is that there is a nature trail through the woods. That is something I don’t recall seeing at any other KOA, and it was a pleasant surprise. I wish my grandson had been with us. He would have loved the fire truck playground and the Johnson Creek Mining Company water tower and trough. The recreation area had a ping pong table, a swimming pool, and cornhole boards, among other things. The showers/bathrooms were attached to the main office, and I really liked how the showers had a flexible hose. For safety and privacy, it was the type that can be locked so you don’t have to worry about strangers being in the bath facility with you. Overall, I recommend this campground highly. The only negative I have is that there are no tent sites.
GuideThe location was great. Close to everything we wanted to do. We toured the Biltmore, slide down the sliding rock, and made some other stops in Pisgah National Forest. There is full hook ups so most people use the bathroom in their trailer. We used our toilet but chose to use the provided showers. They were older but clean. The ducks that wandered around were a bother. They pooped all over our carpet and other things. Other than that it was an average campground.

This campground is very close to I-26 and I-81 which makes for an easy in and out for an overnight stay. We stopped for one night after a long day of driving and wanted a full hook-up pull-thru which was long enough for our 45’ RV and tow car. The roads inside the park were easy to navigate and pull into our site and nearby are fuel stations and fast food restaurants.
Most of the campers in the park were permanent residents and their campsites were pretty junky. Just to create an image in your head, our neighbors had lots of kid’s toys, trash bags, appliances, and laundry scattered about their site while others had old cars, dilapidated sheds, car tires, and tarps stretched across their campers. Other than a swimming pool and decent playground, there really aren’t too many amenities or reasons that you might want to stay here, other than for an overnight. The bathroom and showers were clean and there is a nice laundry. Roads in the campground and at sites are gravel with grass/gravel patios and picnic table. Not all sites have fire pits. Our site (#102) did not have a fire pit but there was an indentation under the leaves where it looked like there was a fire pit and there were a bunch of rocks piled up against a tree that could be used to create one without anyone objecting. All sites are full hook-up, some being 30-amp and others 50. Most sites are pull-thrus and level. Our over-the-antenna picked up about 40 television channels, including all the major stations. Our Verizon phone picked up a 5G signal.
There were signs everywhere about not letting your dog off-leash so I’m assuming there was a problem in the past. While we were there, we never encountered any unruly dogs or any off-leash. There are lots of large trees for shade which are not a problem for pulling into or out of a site but may be a problem if you are trying to get satellite television. The sewer outlet at our site was placed in the back of our site and I needed a hose about 35’ long to reach it. Some of the back-in sites are pretty close but it appeared they were for seasonal/permanent campers.
The electrical hookup was a little sketchy. It appears they updated an old electrical box with a new 50-amp outlet and taped the other one shut so you could not open it. There was no breaker on the new outlet you could access. Despite the way it looked, we never had a problem with the electric. Our sewer was a different issue. The sewer drain needed to be cleaned out because when I opened the grey valve it did not drain properly and began to overflow. I had to shut the valve, wait for the water to go down, and reduce the flow which took about fifteen minutes to drian 25 gallons of grey water.
At $45 for a full hook-up site, we would not stay here again.
