Apache Family Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Fishing from a private pier, swimming in the Atlantic, and biking through a dense coastal campground are the main draws at Apache Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The campground sits directly on the beach, and guests staying here receive complimentary pier access for fishing. Sites close to the water are tightly packed and tucked behind dunes, so direct ocean views from camp are limited. The waves, though, are audible from most of the property.

Density is the defining characteristic here. Reviewers consistently note that RVs sit close together, and tent campers in particular report a lack of privacy and significant light and noise at night from the on-site restaurant and surrounding activity areas. The campground accommodates RVs up to 60 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. A pool, camp store, laundry, gift shop, and bathhouses distributed across the property round out the facilities. Bathhouses are described as clean, though at least one reviewer noted the showers need updating.

"It's a wonderful community feel," one long-term returning camper noted, and that atmosphere is consistent with what reviewers describe: a social, amenity-heavy setup that draws repeat visitors and seasonal regulars. Campers comparing campsites near North Myrtle Beach will find Apache on the denser, more resort-style end of the spectrum. Myrtle Beach Travel Park is roughly a mile up the coast for those wanting to compare nearby alternatives. Reservations are recommended, especially for summer and holiday weekends when the campground fills quickly.

A Family Tradition

I’ve been coming to this campground since I was about 5. My grandparents camped here, my parents now own a permanent place here, and we just purchased a camper to vacation here. It’s a wonderful community feel! There’s activities for all ages and the grounds are well kept.

Disappointing and dirty

It is insanely packed so in a tent, you have no privacy at all. It’s also very loud and bright during the night cause of all the lights for example at the restaurant. The showers were a disgrace and need to be renovated and they booked my tent at a RV side so I paid over 70$ for one night. You don’t feel like you are at a campground but in the middle of a city.

Laid back beach front campground

Basically everything you need in one location. Pool & other activity areas, camp store & laundry, gift shop, pier , and restaurant. Vacation rentals & rv spots are fairly tightly spaced, bath houses located in every quadrant & clean. Short walk or golf cart ride to the ocean no matter your location in the park. This would be a great location for families looking to entertain the kiddos....

Great family campground, private pier

This is a popular RV campground in the Myrtle Beach area. It’s very dense, with RVs being pretty close together so that’s the down side.

The plus side is that it’s located in a less busy area of Myrtle beach, has a private pier and direct access. There’s a restaurant at the pier that serves simple but delicious seafood with amazing views.

Recommended for RV campers looking for a Myrtle Beach experience.

Nice sized campground on the ocean

We went off season - October 2019 - and while the park still had a lot of people there were plenty of sites empty. Since it was off season the camp store and shuttle service was not open. Sites are tight by the beach and because of the dunes you don't get a view. But you were within a very short walk to the beautiful big clean beach and could hear the waves crashing. We only have a 24 foot motor home - so we felt a bit claustrophobic between the huge RVs on all sides of us. We decided to move to a different site that gave is some more room and not sandwiched in between other campers. it wasn't at the beach area - but we did not mind the walk - and we also had bikes to get around. The staff and maintenance did a great job. The grounds are clean and the staff very friendly when we arrived early and let us check in early and the a day later to let us move to another site.

Had a great time

Located on the beach, staff was very helpful and friendly.

They have a large pier for fishing located in the campground and if you are staying there they will provide tickets so you can use the pier.
