Best RV Parks & Resorts near Clarence, NY

Several RV-friendly campgrounds surround the Clarence area with varied hookup options and seasonal availability. Southwoods RV Resort in Byron operates from May through October, providing full hookups including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections on gravel sites. ["Bathrooms were very clean. Quiet campground. Lots of plays areas for kids. Weekend sites would be pretty tight together if they were fully booked."] Skyline RV Resort in Darien Center features spacious pull-through sites that accommodate big rigs, with both 30-amp and 50-amp options available. Six Flags Darien Lake Campground offers another option for RV travelers with full hookup capabilities and proximity to the amusement park. Sites at these parks typically include fire rings and picnic tables, though spacing varies significantly between locations.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during summer months when occupancy rates peak. Most RV parks in the region provide sanitary dump stations, though not all sites include sewer hookups at the pad. Within 30 miles of Clarence, travelers can find propane refill services at select campgrounds, though availability should be confirmed before arrival. DINO RV Campground in Cheektowaga provides a limited number of sites with only three spaces available, making early booking essential. Winter camping options are extremely limited, as most facilities close between late October and early May. Pet policies vary by location, with most parks allowing pets but imposing restrictions on breeds and requiring proof of vaccinations at check-in.

    Evangola State Park Campground

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

    Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

    Good location

This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened. So far this isn’t bad could be better/ cleaner.

It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn’t suck.

The site are paved level back ins and pull throughs

The staff was nice enough. Haven’t had much interaction with him.

There is a great Italian store right across the street and Niagara Falls down the road. I would stay here in a pinch again

Guide to Clarence

RV sites near Clarence, New York offer access to the agriculturally rich countryside of western New York, where summer temperatures average 70-80°F and winters drop to 20-30°F. The camping season typically runs from May through October, with most facilities closing during the colder months. The predominantly flat terrain makes for easy site access but offers limited natural shade.

What to do

Amusement park access: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground provides camping packages that include theme park admission. "The campground fees include admission to the theme park. The sites are very nice and well maintained," notes Mary H., who found the family-focused campground "wonderful, very convenient and affordable."

Golfing opportunities: Hickory Ridge Golf & RV Resort combines camping with golf course access. The resort caters primarily to golf enthusiasts rather than nature seekers. "This spot is all right, but it's not really the vibe for weekend campers. It's definitely more of a 'locals only' kind of feel as it is a country club and golf resort primarily," explains Mariah G.

Nearby attractions: When staying at Red Rock Ponds RV Resort, campers can explore the historic town of Holley, approximately 15 minutes away. "Nice, smaller campground with adequate sites. Appears more for permanent campers," notes Dan, highlighting the park's proximity to local services.

What campers like

Family-friendly environments: Southwoods RV Resort offers extensive recreational options for families. "Southwoods is a beautiful campground and accommodates campers of all ages. 2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball. The employees are so helpful and nice!" reports Hope C.

Clean facilities: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground maintains well-kept grounds despite high traffic. "The campground itself is pretty and well kept. Some sites are a little tight, but most people aren't there to camp, they're going to the park or a concert, or both," Cory W. explains, noting the convenience for concert-goers.

Helpful staff: Many campers praise the service at RV parks near Clarence. "We needed help with our water heater in our own RV and the camp team sent over a mechanic to sort it out within minutes. Free of charge," shares Lionel O. about his experience at Six Flags Darien Lake Campground.

What you should know

Site spacing variations: Skyline RV Resort offers big-rig accommodation but with limited personal space. "Great campground, a little tight if you like to spread out. The map was not correct and we did not have sewer hook up at the sight," notes Paul G., though he found the staff friendly and the dumping station free.

Seasonal occupancy: Many campgrounds near Clarence have high percentages of seasonal residents. Red Rock Ponds RV Resort has "adequate sites" but "appears more for permanent campers," according to Dan, which affects the overall atmosphere for weekend visitors.

Noise considerations: Train tracks run near multiple campgrounds in the area. "There was a train track close to camping," reports Donna M. about Six Flags Darien Lake, while another reviewer notes that train noise at Southwoods RV Resort "occasionally is quite noisy."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Southwoods RV Resort provides numerous recreation options for children. "Family friendly park, lots of activities, park hosts/owners are hands on and awesome," shares Cheryl M. The campground features two swimming pools, playgrounds, and sports facilities.

Weekend crowding: Consider midweek stays for a quieter experience. "Weekend sites would be pretty tight together if they were fully booked," notes a reviewer about space constraints during peak periods at several area campgrounds.

Concert scheduling: If staying during concert events, expect increased noise and activity. "People mostly stay here for one of two reasons. Because they don't want to drive home drunk from a concert, or they have 14 loud kids that want to be at the amusement park. Both options come with about 2 hours of sleep," Laura Nicole A. candidly shares about Six Flags Darien Lake.

Tips from RVers

Limited overnight options: DINO RV Campground in Cheektowaga has only 4 sites available, making advance booking essential for short-term stays. The campground offers full hookups but minimal amenities.

Map verification: Double-check hookup availability upon arrival. "The map was not correct and we did not have sewer hook up at the sight," reports Paul G. about Skyline RV Resort, emphasizing the importance of confirming amenities at check-in.

Supply access: Niagara Hartland RV Resort provides on-site firewood and basic market supplies, though the facility appears "a little run down" according to Bella S., who notes it "looks more like a trailer park" with many seasonal sites.
