Vegas Glamping provides safari-style accommodations in Henderson, just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. The luxury glamping site features five safari tents with comfortable bedding, outdoor seating areas, and shared bathroom facilities with showers. Guests appreciate the blend of desert ambiance with creature comforts. One camper shared, "Love this campground. Easy access from Las Vegas, but feels a world away. Lots of big trees and bushes make the campground feel like an oasis." The location offers the perfect balance of seclusion while remaining accessible to urban amenities. Nearby, Sage Desert Dreams offers a single exclusive glamping accommodation with electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits for those seeking a more private glamping experience. Both locations permit alcohol and pets, allowing for a complete vacation experience.

Stargazing opportunities abound at these Henderson glamping locations, with guests frequently spotting wildlife including coyotes and owls against the desert night sky. During the day, Lake Mead National Recreation Area is just a short drive away, offering boating, fishing, and swimming opportunities. A visitor noted, "At night I've always heard coyotes and owls. Access to Lake Mead is a 15 minute drive away." The proximity to both natural attractions and the entertainment options of Las Vegas creates a versatile base for exploration. Most glamping accommodations in the area are available year-round, though spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures for enjoying outdoor activities. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak travel seasons, as the limited number of safari tents and luxury camping options tend to book quickly.

      Desert Campsite The Pads

      Desolate and Beautiful

Just went out a few days ago. They must’ve cleaned up since the last review. Minimal trash, I picked up a couple cans but overall nice. They uncovered the pads. Still minimalist. No bathroom, water, or anything really, lol. Just some great views. I camped up on the hill spot. No 4WD, but still made it. Only downside of the spot the wind was whipping. Also!!!! I wanted to shoot in the desert since I was out there. I’m from NV, they said this spot is in Nye County NV. You have to travel through Inyo CA, at some point. I almost shit because if I got stopped CA CHP, would’ve nailed my ass to the wall. Just for mistakenly crossing that state line. Just saying.

      Desert Campsite The Pads

      Moonlit Miles & Campfire Smiles

Spent the evening off the beaten path, gathered around a campfire under a sky full of stars with an amazing show by the moon. The desert delivered incredible views, peaceful silence, and just enough adventure to remind us why we love escaping the city. Good company, mountain backdrops, and unforgettable memories made this one for the books. Just open skies and great vibes. ✨🏕️🌙

Willow Beach Campground and RV Park

      Impeccable Desert Campground

This is our second time at Willow Beach campground, the last time was many years ago and it’s dramatically improved since then. Extremely clean bathrooms and beautifully maintained desert landscaping. We saw the maintenance staff raking and cleaning the spaces every day. We were able to spend the days paddle boarding and rest in our trailer in the afternoon and evenings. Be warned, the wind can really get moving, tent camping would be very challenging. We saw several popups and poorly staked tents taking a beating. Our space was quite private with a great view of the stark landscape.

      Desert Campsite The Pads

      On the way to Vegas

It's actually no longer an official campground, but free camping on the grounds is possible without any problems. Nature is slowly reclaiming the individual spots, though. The pitches for RVs, cars, or tents are still available, so you can park horizontally relatively easily. Water and dump hookups are no longer in operation. In the distance, you can see mountain formations. Two-wheelers can access this area without any problems. We didn't have internet with T-Mobile.

      Desert Pass Campground

      25 Miles away...But a world of difference

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the heat and bustle of Las Vegas, this campsite Desert Pass in the Mormon Pass is the perfect getaway.

Just a short drive away, you’re instantly transported into cooler mountain air surrounded by beautiful pine and juniper trees. The elevation makes a huge difference in temperature—what feels awful and unbearable in the valley becomes a refreshing and comfortable summer retreat here.

The site itself is well-maintained, with clean and convenient pit toilets that make camping much more pleasant for families. The grounds are spacious, with plenty of room to spread out and set up camp comfortably. The trees not only provide shade but also add to the serene, scenic setting. Be smart, bring water, there is NO water available at this location. During the summer months also be cautious of the bees. We had a MASSIVE presence of bees once we brought the water and cups out, they are just as thirsty as you are up there!

Whether you’re relaxing at camp, exploring the trails, or just enjoying the cooler mountain air, this spot offers the kind of quiet and beauty that feels like it’s worlds away, even though it’s only about 25 miles from Las Vegas.

A great location for families, adventurers, or anyone wanting a quick but refreshing reset in nature!

Las Vegas Bay Campground — Lake Mead National Recreation Area

In the desert, but feels cozy somehow

We landed in Vegas and headed straight out of the city to this campground.  I booked it online, not ever having seen it in person, but I'd stay again in an instant.

We had site 23 - very shaded and "green" - site 24 (not ours) was very open to the desert.

There is a no generator section meant for tents, but we didn't stay there as it seemed fully booked so I picked an RV/tent site at the far end.  And it was lovely.  The site was in the middle of a turn around, so we were in the "donut center" so to speak and it was quiet, shaded and beautiful.  Lot of palms and oleander that gave a lot of privacy. A short walk to the bathroom (hundred yards maybe?) but they were clean and the toilets were the flush kind, not pit kind. Drinking water was available too. There were fire pits at each site and a picnic table. Our site - and I assume most - were dirt/sand mix that made for easy tent set up.  But don't count on getting your stakes into the ground. There were a lot of small rocks around the site - obviously used by many campers to "stake out" the tent with.  We did so as well.

The campground as a whole was a short drive off the main road, but very easy to get to.

      Absolutely I'd stay here again.

Las Vegas Bay Campground — Lake Mead National Recreation Area

      Nice and Clean

Stayed one night as we passed through. Spots we nice and level overlooked a small canyon. Campmhost was an older gentleman and was super nice. Water available and very clean bathrooms. Was plenty of vegetation between the campsites. Wasn't a whole lot of people there when we were. Was worried a little a bout th3 crime s other campsites mentioned issues closer to town. A dirt bike cameripping through at about 3am but that was about it. There is a section dedicated to no generator use if you want the extra quite. Temps were at 102 during the day and 70s at night.

    Guide to Henderson

Las Vegas Bay Campground provides campers a more secluded alternative to the glamping experiences near Henderson, Nevada. Located approximately 15 miles from Henderson, the campground sits at an elevation of about 1,500 feet, offering moderate temperatures compared to the Las Vegas Valley. The campground maintains concrete picnic tables, fire rings, and camping pads that accommodate tents and RVs in a desert landscape with partial shade.

    What to do

Visit Lake Mead: Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers boating, fishing, and swimming opportunities a short drive from Las Vegas Bay Campground. "The campground is very close to the wash that comes from Lake Las Vegas. Lots of wildlife!!" notes reviewer Bonnie C.

Explore desert trails: The surrounding desert landscape provides hiking and nature observation opportunities. "The hills block all signs of civilization. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though you are 20 minutes from Vegas," shares Trevor J. from Las Vegas Bay Campground.

Wildlife observation: Listen for desert wildlife around your campsite, particularly in the evenings. "The sites over looking the wash allow you to hear a river while you sleep! At night I've always heard coyotes and owls," mentions a camper at Las Vegas Bay.

    What campers like

Desert overnights: Temperatures vary significantly between day and night, creating comfortable camping conditions in spring and fall. "We stayed in late March which was a great time to stay. Low 70s during the day and maybe 50 at the coldest part of the night," reports a tent camper at Las Vegas Bay Campground.

Clean facilities: Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathroom facilities at established campgrounds. "Water available and very clean bathrooms. Was plenty of vegetation between the campsites," notes SpentBrassOffroad B. who visited Las Vegas Bay.

Stargazing opportunities: The relatively remote locations offer night sky viewing with minimal light pollution. "You will be up all night" counting stars at Desert Pass Campground, according to reviewer Bronco Billy.

    What you should know

Weather considerations: Summer temperatures regularly exceed 100°F during daytime hours. "Temps were at 102 during the day and 70s at night," reports a camper at Las Vegas Bay Campground.

Water access: Many campgrounds have limited or no water access. "There is NO RUNNING WATER. Be prepared to bring your own if you are staying for any length of time," warns Daniel G. about Desert Pass Campground.

Road conditions: Some campgrounds require suitable vehicles for access. "Roads will tear up a pull trailer and you can mostly get to this campsite with 2WD, but highly recommend 4WD," advises T K. about Desert Pass Campground.

    Tips for camping with families

Consider glamping options: For families seeking more amenities, Vegas Glamping in Henderson offers safari-style tents with proper beds and shared facilities, while maintaining a desert camping experience.

Choose campgrounds with privacy: Families appreciate sites with natural separation. "Lots of big trees and bushes make the campground feel like an oasis," notes a reviewer about camping at Las Vegas Bay.

Plan for bugs: Some locations have seasonal insect issues. "We got eaten alive!! It's a beautiful area and the nights were beautiful but never again," warns Niki S. about Desert Pass Campground.

    Tips from RVers

Water and dump stations: Callville Bay has facilities for RVs. "Free dump station and potable water. Dispersed spaces asphalt pads, concrete picnic tables, fire rings and gorgeous views," shares Robin P. about Callville Bay RV Park.

Site selection: Some campsites accommodate larger vehicles better than others. "Sites are small. RVs larger than 31 ft will have a hard time fitting. This is dry camp only. No hookups or dump station," advises Bonnie C. about Las Vegas Bay Campground.

Hookup alternatives: For RVers requiring full hookups, consider less rustic options. "As an alternative to the NPS campground across the road, this mobile home park has some full hookup RV spots in the rear of the mobile home park next to the laundry/restrooms," explains Greg L. about Callville Bay RV Park.
