    Grateful Stop

Last minute reservation traveling from Yosemite-Tule Lake. Easy access off 40. Carla was very accommodating offering one of the 2 shaded lots available for our dogs sake as it was 92. Very Clean & quiet.

    Snowbirding Rocks

We arrived after park hosting in Oregon for 4 months. Blue sky, sift breeze and 72 degrees greeted us. Carla at the desk is awesome. We had to reschedule our visit due to mechanical issues. She was very helpful. Mountains to the NE of us. They have a pool, cleaned regularly but not heated. I’m too much of a wimp for polar plunges. But my wife Sherri says she’ll go it later.

    Pool looks nice

The pool looks nice but it’s been too cold to check it out. I am not used to the desert so it’s hard for me to like this area. However the sites are flat and gravel and there is a decent laundry room. The bath house is dated but serviceable. For some reason my spot didn’t have a picnic table but it’s too windy to use anyways.

    Deluxe campground, sweltering heat

This is my first time staying at a KOA campground. I'm impressed with how many amenities are provided: pool, laundry room, clubhouse, well-appointed bathroom, and a camp store with reasonable prices. My campsite is tidy and of a generous size. There are only a few shrubs for privacy, but the campground is practically empty so this isn't an issue today.

What is an issue today is the heat. As I write this at 10:11 at night, it is 100° F. When I arrived in Needles this afternoon, it was 114° F. The water that comes out of the spigots here is like bathwater. I started my day in L.A., where it was about 70° F. I knew it would be hotter inland, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I'll be breaking camp at dawn tomorrow and hurrying back into the air conditioned sanctuary of my car. This campground is probably much more pleasant in the winter.

    Beach and regular campsite open

Visited today and seen the primitive camping area (no hookups) was currently closed. The regular campsites with full hookups was open. Maybe with weather, and less campers is the reason for closing the overflow/primitive side. Only 1 RV today and all the other sites open. Beach was crowded on both sides. Was still able to get a spot on the water and set up canopy. Still favorite spot in Laughlin/Bullhead City area.

    Beautilful

Did not camp, only came for one day. But did take driving tour through the campsite. Only saw 3-4 RV’s. Maybe bc we came mid July at it was over 110 F! The river was cold but once in you acclimate. Did some snorkeling. Beautiful sandy spots. Just dont understand with all the space why some people decide to come squeeze in between you and others on the shore. Other than that had a great time. Will come again and maybe camp!

Large campsites and close to the river

Stayed here in March for 3 nights. This place was my first choice to stay, as I been here plenty of times before but never camped here. Its FCFS and the sites are usually full or nearly full. Mostly with the snowbirds during the winter months. The sites are fairly large and spaced out. They were working on extending the campgrounds to make more campsites when I stayed. This place has full hookups, which was extremely nice with a family of 3. They did have water and dumpsite near the entrance. You are a 3 minute drive to the beach/river area. The beach is nice and well maintained. There are two sides to jump into the water. There are walking trails that needed to be maintained, but this was only because there was a fire in the area some time ago. Camp host and ranger station were great and assisted with anything needed. I just wish they took reservations, as this is my favorite spot to camp in Laughlin area. Davis Dam campgrounds and Avi don't have anything on this place. Go to Avi if you want cramped, parking lot camping, or Davis if you want run down facilities. The restrooms were the cleanest I seen in a state and/or national park. Will return!

    great amenities

They have their own entrance to the river which is super neat because if you rent jet skis you can get back to your lodging any time of the day. Also if you have a boat you can load and unload it with the private ramp which is a bonus.

They have full hookups, tables, laundry, a pool, and the river. very nice place and well kept.

also on-site, they have vacation rentals right on the river!! so check them out!! super clean and a neat place they have here and I will be back.

It's neat if you take the water taxis across to the casinos and walk the boardwalk, there are so many bugs so be prepared. o posted pictures of us on the boardwalk and the jet ski we rented which is a great spot just down the street from the rv park

    Rip Off.

Exspect to pay for any car you bring in this state park. This is a rip off park. We payed $45 for the camper truck and $25 for a car because it had az.lic. on a rental car. We could have stay at AVI for two nights at this price.

    KOA desert life

KOA have pretty much everything you need this location well its nothing fancy for what your paying, you get all the basics, the reason they only get a 4 is that they could have a bit more greenery for the cost you pay. They have a decent clubhouse, well-kept laundry room, a cool little fireplace where you can sit with friends, burn wood, and eat a meal on the tables a really neat group area for a bunch of friends or family that's for sure. They have full hookups, showers, bathrooms, a nice swimming pool, dump station, all spots are very close to your neighbors with no privacy AT ALL! some ran down tables and bbq at each site. we came when it wasn't scorching but this place gets super hot so prepare for that, they do have a store for things you need as well.

desert camping you have to pay for

ok ok ok... this place does offer a lot!!! A clean blue swimming pool, laundry, showers, and bathrooms. each camp spot has pads, bbq grills, and water sources, some also offer a little covered canopy which is needed out here. In case you want to stay in a cabin, they have small cabins available to rent. This place has a variety of games around that can be fun for groups. I gave it a 4 only because it's really nothing special besides the amenities they could for sure have put some nice trees in to make it more shade for guest.

    Everything one could need

Cool Little Spot !! Talk about clean! This place has exceeded that by all means. The bathroom was immaculate as can be. With kids if the bathroom isn’t clean our babies are not going in. Super dope place right on the river with little sandy beaches on the river and a cool water inlet that is surrounded by grass for a fun family day. This entire place has hook ups and group areas available. They do have cabin rentals as well. Grocery store Golf across the street Tennis courts

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate... the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what OR its not something us campers are on this is more of an airbnb. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again... It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure...Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location... but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE... love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc..... I would not only come back but would live if I could!!! Anyway thanks for reading and enjoy every moment like it's your last! CHEERS!

Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area

    Little gem for sure

if your not familiar with Laughlin it is super hot we came in October and it was still hot as can be, not as bad as the summertime and for sure not as crowded, we came on a weekday so I do recommend coming during the week. The water is still refreshing because it's still hot as heck out there…..Ok on to the good stuff, so the beach area is amazing. honestly, it's super neat and crystal clear river water and sandy beaches. The best part of this site for sure!!!!!  the campsites are super clean, and not on the beach area in case you were wondering you can walk or drive… ok so the campgrounds have desert landscape and NO trees between spaces, clean bathrooms and showers oh and the showers cost quarters so make sure you bring them.. anyway besides desert landscaping the spaces are pretty spaced out but still NO trees, also you're super close to a major street in Laughlin so not really impressed by that, the only spot that was left was right by that and you hear cars for a good amount of our stay.

if you have the NV state park pass be prepared to pay 10 dollars additional without an RV it's one of the few places I have noticed that make you pay even if you are tent camping, so make sure you put that in your budget!!

So the grounds are dirt roads but the parking places are paved and they do have tables and awnings for each spot. some are pull through as well and like I said full hooks up and they do have a dump station right when you pull in so it's convenient for before and after dumping needs…

like I said it's hot even in October and November but it's not busy at all on the beach. Cool little gem because of the beach for sure!! Also just for extras.. raccoons, and skunks roam these areas at night so have your food and vehicles secured

    cheers!

Beautiful campground resort right on the Colorado River!  FHU's, wifi, cable TV. Very clean bathrooms and showers.  Excellent customer service.  Sabrina and Wayne both helped us get hooked up, and helped with our cable TV issues.  Close to Laughlin casinos and river activities.  We will definitely visit this campground again!

    Quick Vegas Getaway

Facilities are clean and spots are plentiful May-September due to the extreme heat. All sites are pull through RV sites that easily accommodate 2-3 tents (4man). Rumors have it they are clearing sites to create a tent only section but it will not be ready until fall 2020.

Until then expect to pay the $20/night + $10 utility hookup.

    Not much going on here...

This area has an unheated pool and a rec area that has a pool table, card table and a couch facing a big TV that's equipped with a VCR and a big library of tapes to go with it. They also have a laundry mat here, a pretty well stocked store and a couple of horseshoe pits. The site itself isn't that great, there's no concrete slabs, it's just a big gravel parking lot with a few separation bushes and plants. But it is a decent location because its walking distance from the Colorado River, (and beside it) is the River Front Cafe. The cafe has more of a bar feel, but it has some nice views as you are eating some pretty good food.

T-mobile has great cell service here, and the water pressure is fantastic. Just don't buy gas here in Needles. It's twice the price of any current gas station. Go to one of the other towns that lay right on the outskirts of Needles town.

    Hot Hot!

We pulling in very late, and it was still very hot! They have the swimming pool open all the time! we rented a cabin and there was no air condition on when we arrived and we turned it on and went swimming at 10:30 at night and by the time we got back to the cabin it was cooled off! nice clean but hot!

Easy and pretty hiking, crowded campground

We tried to stay at the campground, but it doesn't take reservations and all the sites were full by Thursday afternoon in February. We did explore the hiking trails, which were nice sandy paths with pretty easy terrain. The river is very pretty and fast moving. It was too cold for swimming in the winter, but the beach was clean and would be great during the warmer months. The bathrooms were also clean and there were some nice picnic pavilions, which included wheelchair accessible tables. This would be a great place for a family trip, but definitely have a backup camping plan during the busy season!

Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area

    Clean campground near Colorado River.

This was a small, 24-site campground near the Colorado River. The sites are not reservable so first come first served. The grounds and bathroom were clean. There are coin showers so make sure to bring quarters if you’re planning to use them. Otherwise, the river was really cool and refreshing. There were ants on our tent pad so we didn’t use the regular tent. We were one of the few tent campers, everyone else was in RV’s/trailers.

It is somewhat near the highway so you can hear cars that drive over the rumble strips from time to time (so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper).

The sites also have hookups, a grill, a fire pit and shade ramadas. There are a few bushes separating you from other campsites and they were spaced pretty decently where we didn’t hear the RV noises.

The beach area to the river was within walking distance. There are shade ramadas too and some have picnic tables. The water was very cold but refreshing.

I would camp here again in the cooler months or if I had an air conditioned rig during the warmer months. It got up to the high 90s during the day but was nice and cool late at night.

if it wasn’t for the river I’d give this campground about 3 stars because of the ants and highway noise.

(sorry for the lack of photos for the whole site)
