Good Campground Overall

Love the layout of the whole campground.
Pros:The setup between restrooms and water with the sites are appropriate for accessibility. Good room and nice level areas where we stayed in the 400 loop. Cons: Lots of rocks in the tent areas. Lot of vegetation around making some bugs prominent.

Wonderful fall camping!

Had an excellent time camping in October. Even though it rained, the scenery was wonderful and the campground was well maintained. I will definitely be going back again!

Waterfront Camping!

Pomme de Terre is one of our favorite Missouri campgrounds.  Most spots are lakefront on an uncommercialized lake. I fish from a kayak and was never overwhelmed by boats and the fishing is fantastic. Camp spots are clean, has shower house and clean bathrooms.  There are two swim beaches and boat ramps, also has a marina to rent boats if you would like.

Pretty but needs help

The camping areas are pretty but there’s no water access from camp sites. Also plan to walk to the bathrooms or plan to hear people walking by all night headed to the bathrooms. Lots of tree coverage so every site is shaded almost entirely, but that means lots of sticks that have to be cleared before tent camping.

Peaceful and easy lake access.

Great state park and campground.

Family Camping

We spent the Fourth of July weekend on the 300 Loop on the Pittsburgh side. Despite the humidity and high water levels (not the camps fault) we had a fantastic time. Facilities were maintained family and restrooms/showers were available. The campsites were patrolled at various times and staff were friendly and helpful. The marina was within walking distance and offers food, treats, and camp gear you may have forgot. Right before you get to the camp, there is an Alps store that has everything you’d need and more, including a Hunts Brothers Pizza option for when you accidentally burn dinner and the kids are starving. Overall, a great laidback option for families that are camping novices or otherwise.

Perfect weekend

What a fabulous campground. Hiking, boating, playground clean bath house. Park hosts are wonderful!

Nice but...

I love the location and hate it at the same time, the lake is currently flooded so most of the shorefront campgrounds are underwater, with all this extra water the mosquitos are thick, but thats the only downside. The toilets were clean, there was a water spigot by the toilet for water, i dont think its potable. The upper sites are nice an open an the all have lmap hooks an forepits.

Loved this place

We stayed At loop 300, 317 which is a family site. Daughter and her family joined us with a tent and we had our 31 ft 5th wheel. The only negative is there is electric only, no water. But there was a hydrant across the street that allowed us to fill our tank! Even though it was cold, the wind blew and it rained our second night, we had a great time. Woke up after the rain to find everyone in the camper!! Haha. Will definitely stay here again!!!!
