Mark Twain Cave & Campground

This campground is located near the Mark Twain caves. There is also a winery located at the entrance to the campground. There is a store on site, and tourist attractions can pick you up at the store. It is a quick 10 minutes ride into town. Sites are level gravel. There is a playground, dog wash station, and 2 large pavilions to rent.

Hannibal is "someone's fading memory of a town," but you can tell it used to be a cool place. The Mark Twain history part of it is cool! The cave is fantastic with history galore and a reasonable price. The gift shop is also very very nice. The people checking you in and running the tours are great and very pleasant. The campground is under a nice canopy of oaks and is in a valley between two hillsides that contain caves. The place is very quiet and has a nice feel to it. The whole campground is gravel except for sites f1 through f12 which have grass and are bordered by a crystal clear rocky creek. Two older and smaller playgrounds, a picnic shelter, laundry, and a couple of community corn hole boards. Highly recommend a site under the trees along the creek in the C or F section. I think f10 is probably the best site. We enjoyed our stay in f2.

We used to stay here once or twice a season, and it was one of our favorite campgrounds. Haven't been able to make it back to Hannibal for a few years. Went this past weekend. The "premium pull-through" spots are a joke. All gravel, way too close together. No way we could have had a fire that close to our camper or our neighbors. We ended up calling the office and moving to "F' section. The office personnel were very friendly. Still close together, but did have grass. In the older portion of the campground, they have changed some sites to make room for more, now it's way too crowded as well. A lot of the sites are pretty short and over half are all gravel.

Stayed here 2 nights, while we explored Hannibal. The campground is large, but half empty when we stayed. It meet our needs, always love having WiFi. My biggest complaint would be only 2 washer/dryers (one which was broken). The cave tour is interesting, but a little expensive. I would stay on the main street of Hannibal to see the Mark Twain sites, rest of the city is seedy

Our site (B14) was not at all level. Used all my blocks to compensate for the forward and passenger site down slope. Other sites in B section had similar problems. Fortunate that we carry an adjustable step for coach entry. Showers and restrooms were good, but shower curtains need to be replaced. Great water. Works great !

This is a nice campground by the Mark Twain Cave. The sites are spacious with nice big fire rings. The sites are gravel and are semi level but still need leveling. It was quiet and peaceful, a good nights rest passing through. The grounds are fairly tidy but could use some clean up. We had a nice corn hole area across from our site. Very easy to get to with GPS.

We stayed here for just 1 night to visit the Mark Twain cave and some of the sights in town. The sites were gravel, and lots of greenery and trees around. We didn't have a site by the stream - I would try to get one of those next time. Super convenient to walk over to the cave or winery. The winery wasn't open because we went just before Memorial Day.

I did not give this campground a 5 because it wasn't as clean as I would hope. The laundry room was filthy. It wasn't cleaned the entire week we stayed and it was dirty when we arrived. They may have cleaned the bathrooms daily, but they didn't do a thorough job. It was pricey for the cave tours and Mark Twain Cave was full of graffiti. Very sad. The camp site was perfect for us. The employees were nice and helpful.

Laundry, shower, playground and tourist facilities. Two caves and a winery on site. It's pricey but worth it.

This is an awesome place to go has lots of things to do including on-site keep tours of two different caves and an on-site winery as well as gift shop. Very short distance from historical downtown sights. 

We stayed 3 knights. The shower was good. The cave was expensive. U can check it out on YouTube. At Grammy and pappy at it again

I was not impressed. If you are there to see sites of Hannibal MO and are using camping as a motel this campground may work for you. Almost all full hookups. I would recommend sitesD7 and E7. Shower hose was pretty nice and clean. Campground sits right in the city of Hannibal. Beautiful town. It does have a nice store that is the entrance to the store. We did not do the cave. We will probably camp elsewhere and travel in.

The campground is quit and peacefully. Just a short walk from the Mississippi River and downtown Hannibal. They have two caves you can tour along with a winery on site. Both attractions are at the front of the campground so they are an easy walk from your campsite but your site is also secluded away from the tourist their during the day for just the caves and winery. Staff was friendly and helpful. The caves make the whole stay that much more amazing for the kids.

We RV camped here for one night. Staff was friendly, sites were level and hookups were fine. The bathroom is a little less than to be desired. We opted to use our RV instead of their restrooms due to cleanliness issues and there was a swarm of wasps in the shower.

Clean hot showers, nuff said.

Small but very nice snack shop that serves cold and hot sandwiches. They will deliver your meal to the winery, nice touch. The winery also had live music hat wasn’t loud and shut down early. The grounds is only 2 miles outside of Hannibal and is walkable if fit. My buddy and I walked in but took Uber back.

Tiniest Playground ever. Laundry Facality onsite. (2 washers/2 dryers) Not the cleanest bathrooms. Not a ton to do in the area.
