RV camping near Tishomingo ranges from full hookup sites with 50-amp service to electric/water pads at lakeside campgrounds. Tishomingo State Park Campground offers concrete pads with water and electric hookups for RV camping, but lacks sewer connections or 50-amp service. Most sites accommodate moderate-sized RVs, though larger units may find maneuvering challenging due to numerous trees and tight loops. "The campground was ok. Our site was level. Fire ring, picnic table, etc were fine," wrote one camper, noting that sites drop off steeply beyond the pavement. Cross City RV Park provides full hookup sites with 50-amp service, while Piney Grove Campground features electric/water sites along Bay Springs Lake with seasonal operation from March through mid-November. RV sites at these parks typically include a picnic table and fire ring.
Throughout the Tishomingo area, cell service varies considerably between parks. Verizon users report two bars at most locations, with spotty connectivity at Piney Grove. Dump stations are available at Cross City RV Park and Whitten Park Campground. For supplies, the town of Boonville, approximately 20 minutes from Piney Grove, offers major amenities including Walmart, while Tishomingo itself has only limited options with a Dollar General and small grocery store. Pets are permitted at all area RV parks, though restrictions may apply. One review noted, "A lot of the sites have some lake view" at Piney Grove, but cautioned that satellite reception is nearly impossible due to heavy tree cover. Between May and September, advance reservations are strongly recommended as parks fill quickly, especially on weekends.
"This is typical for an RV resort with open and reasonably close spaces, but is new and very nice and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful."

Nice quiet campground. We stayed at site 59. Level concrete pad, full hookup. We walked a couple trails. It’s been very dry no waterfalls and small creeks were dry.
GPS took us right to Whitten Park Campground (CG). The check-in gate opens early most days and was already open when we arrived at 2:15 PM. Check-in was friendly and quick, even though the official check-in time was 4:00 PM. We had pull-through site 9 with water and electric(50/30/20 AMP). Sites 8 and 9 had been combined to create a very long pull-through with two sets of utilities. We were able to position our rig on the pad to compensate for the slight slope, using one leveling block under each wheel on the door side. With temperatures reaching 100 degrees, we were glad the 50 AMP service supported all three of our air conditioners. As with most COE CGs, water pressure was very good, so we used our pressure regulator. Our site had a nice step-down patio with a large picnic table, stand-up BBQ grill, and fire pit. We stayed in the same site a couple of years ago, but the picnic table and other amenities from the former site 8 had since been removed. We also enjoyed a partial water view through the trees. We had 3 bars on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile, with the T-Mobile signal strong enough to run our T-Mobile Home Internet and stream. With the amount of large trees in this CG, satellite could be iffy depending on the site. There was no CG WiFi. We stayed in Loop 1, which had trails leading to the boating and fishing docks, along with connecting trails to the other CG loops. Loops 1 and 3 are the most popular and tend to attract more campers. If you prefer fewer crowds and a quieter camping experience, consider Loop 2, which generally has fewer occupied sites, especially during the week. Whitten Park remains one of our favorite campgrounds.
They was cussed at us and told me my camper was ugly and accused of me being on drugs. And was told I was a lier. Was very blunt and said my camper looks like shit.
Cute, quiet campground tucked away in the woods, yet only 5 minutes from the interstate! The sites are spacious, shaded, and very level. The showers and bathrooms are clean, and the laundry facilities are great. Highly recommend, especially for the price. Excellent value!
We have been to Hollow Hideaway for the past few years to camp and ride SXS’s. I highly recommend this place. The owners are the best I’ve ever felt with and now have become our friends. The RV sites are well maintained and the rental cabins and house are amazing. Get your spot booked now! You won’t be disappointed.
Cash or checks only, $60. Lots of trees and big spaces if you're staying more than one night. One nightnighters get put in the back with close sites. A birders paradise here.
My daughter door dashes in Florence. Since we live in the Bankhead Forest, sometimes we stay closer to Florence. We love this park for peace and quiet. Easy to find. Only real problem is the showers. They are not heated and there is no door. So you need to bring your own shower curtain. It's wide open to the world.
Very nice campground has concrete pads for RVs water and electric no sewer but does have a dump station has lots of beautiful hiking trails. Dog friendly and historic sites
Tishomingo and the surrounding area offers numerous RV camping options across northeastern Mississippi and into neighboring Alabama and Tennessee. Hiking trails at Tishomingo State Park: The park features multiple hiking trails with interesting geological formations. "Love the trails. The Bear Creek is peaceful to sit beside. Hoping to kayak here this summer," notes one visitor who appreciated the natural water features at Tishomingo State Park Campground.
Disc golf courses: Tishomingo State Park offers recreational options beyond hiking. "Great for families with many hiking trails and 3 disc golf courses," mentions a reviewer who enjoyed the variety of outdoor activities available.
Swinging bridge exploration: The historic structures add character to your visit. A camper remarked, "The swinging bridge and trail is very cool! The river is fantastic," highlighting this unique feature that many visitors seek out.
Lake activities on Bay Springs: Fishing and kayaking are popular at Piney Grove Campground. One camper shared, "Nice sites. I enjoy fishing Bay Springs," while another mentioned, "The lake is nice and clean with tons of coves. Lots of people using their kayaks as well as fishing boats and pontoons."

Clean, well-maintained facilities: Bathroom quality varies across rv parks Tishomingo, Mississippi and surrounding areas. One visitor to Heritage Acres RV Park mentioned, "Nice large bathrooms with large showers. Large office/store. Secure/safe campground thanks to hosts and close to town."
Watching water traffic: The area's waterways provide unique entertainment. A Piney Grove camper noted, "It was neat to watch the barges go by. Next trip I want to watch one go through the locks!"
Quiet, peaceful atmosphere: Serenity is a common theme at campgrounds near Tishomingo. A visitor to Moon Lake Farm shared, "This is a very peaceful stop with 30 amp power and water available. Well kept and very nice host. The land and lake are beautiful."
Campsite terrain considerations: The physical layout of sites can present challenges. A reviewer at Tishomingo State Park Campground cautioned, "The downfall to this park is the camper pads. There are a few that are perfect. Most of them once you step out of your camper has a huge drop off. Just remember to park as close to the hookup side as possible."
Cell service limitations: Connectivity varies widely at camping areas near Tishomingo. A Piney Grove visitor reported, "I have AT&T cell phones and T-mobile cellular modem. Both have 4g lte with 3bars of signal strength," while at Tishomingo State Park, another noted, "Cellphone coverage is not good here for Verizon or AT&T. Better at front of camp."
Seasonal operation schedules: Not all camping options are available year-round. Piney Grove Campground operates from March 1 through November 15, requiring off-season travelers to seek alternatives.
Swimming restrictions: Despite lake access, swimming options may be limited. A Tishomingo State Park visitor mentioned, "The only disappointment for us was the lack of swimming opportunities. The pool has long been out of service and swimming isn't allowed in the lake."
Playground access: Several campgrounds offer recreational facilities for children. A visitor to Green Acres RV Park shared, "There is a beautiful pool open seasonally," providing families with swimming options during summer months.
Sand areas for play: Natural beach areas offer entertainment for children. At Piney Grove Campground, one camper noted, "Sand bar beside dock where children played. Very shady with nice breeze off the river."
Site selection for noise management: Consider location relative to recreational facilities. A Piney Grove visitor advised, "I would recommend avoiding sites that back up to the basketball courts unless you have younger kids and are fine with the noise level."
Bathhouse considerations: When camping with children, bathroom quality matters. A Tishomingo State Park camper mentioned, "Showers were very hot and the bathrooms were very clean!" making family hygiene routines more comfortable.
Site layout and hookup placement: The design of RV sites impacts convenience. At Serenity RV Park, an RVer observed, "There are two sewer connections on both cement and gravel sites, which is a nice convenience. Water and electric hookups are centrally located on the pad, though the electric connection sits low to the ground, requiring us to bend the surge protector to plug in."
Satellite reception challenges: Dense tree cover affects entertainment options. Piney Grove campers report that satellite reception can be difficult in many sites due to the heavy tree canopy.
Pull-through availability: RV site accessibility varies between parks. A Cross City RV Park visitor noted, "Sites are perfectly level, utilities all work great. Most sites are pull through and long enough to park without unhooking, even with longer rigs."
Campground layout navigation: Some parks present maneuvering challenges. At Heritage Acres RV Park, a camper observed, "The concrete pad was within 1/4" of level and even had two sewer connections," highlighting the quality of premium sites that make setup easier for larger rigs.
