Campground at Barnes Crossing

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Gravel pull-through sites, full hookups, and a location minutes from Tupelo's commercial strip define the experience at Campground at Barnes Crossing. The campground sits close to the interstate, and reviewers are consistent on this point: road noise is noticeable. That said, one camper noted that from inside the park, the proximity to the city registers less than expected, with the layout providing some buffer from the surrounding area.

Sites run close together and are assigned by staff rather than chosen by the camper, which is worth factoring into plans for anyone who prioritizes site selection. Roughly 90 percent of sites carry shade cover, and the showers draw consistent praise for cleanliness. WiFi is available but has been reported as unreliable, so campers dependent on a steady connection may want a backup plan. Cell service notes from reviewers are limited, so coverage is not guaranteed.

Rates have ranged from $40 to $55 per night depending on timing and membership discounts, including a Good Sam rate. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer make this a functional overnight stop for RV travelers moving through northern Mississippi. A dog walk area is on site, and pets are permitted. The campground operates year-round and accepts reservations. Those planning a longer stay in the region can browse camping near Saltillo for additional context on what else is nearby.

If a no-frills RV stopover with solid amenities and convenient access to town sounds like the right fit, this campground is worth a look.

but it's close to town

Location is next to the freeway and yes, it is loud. Sites are close together, you CANNOT choose your site they will place you where they want. Staff not very friendly. Price is $55/night $50 for Good Sam Club.

What a gem!

We loved this place. From inside the park it’s hard to believe you’re so close to the city. 2 mins from restaurants and shopping. Sites are pull through and on gravel. Relatively close to one another but not bothersome.

Great overnight

Nice park with pull through at late notice , great staff. Close to town but didn’t visit. Reasonable at $40. Some sites have Wi Fi I think. Short nice walk and area for dogs. Not far from freeway.

Could be better

It’s location in proximity to Tupelo is awesome. The showers are nice and clean. 90% of the sites are shaded. The price is high. Especially for a place that can’t keep the WiFi active.
