Percy Quin State Park Campground offers pet-friendly sites on Lake Tangipahoa with both drive-in access and boat-in options. Dogs are welcome throughout the developed campground, which features full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections for RVs and trailers. The campground provides picnic tables at pet-friendly sites, and most camping loops accommodate pets with grassy areas for walking. Bathhouses with showers are available for campers, though bathroom cleanliness can vary according to seasonal use. The park permits pets at both RV sites and primitive tent camping areas near the water. The bathrooms were closed during some periods due to COVID restrictions but have since reopened with regular maintenance. The park also offers pet-friendly cabins for those preferring more comfortable accommodations.

Clear Springs Recreation Area in Homochitto National Forest permits pets throughout its campground with two camping loops featuring water and electric hookups. The recreation area includes a lake where many campers enjoy hiking the trail around the water with their dogs. Select your campsite first, then pay the fee at this first-come, first-served campground. Sites 13-22 work best for RVs and trailers, while sites 1-12 are more suitable for tent campers with pets. Dogs can enjoy the extended 10-mile hiking trail through the forest, though owners should be cautious of water moccasins reported in the lake area. Clear Springs offers a dump station for RVs, and each loop provides bathrooms with showers. Paradise Ranch RV Resort and Bogue Chitto State Park also welcome pets at their campgrounds within driving distance of Liberty, providing additional options for camping with dogs in the area.

      Great place!

This is the second time I have camped here and both times have been great! The park is on the banks of the Mississippi River just south of the bridge on the Vidalia. LA side. Great walking, biking, running path that you can follow under the bridge. Dog Park, playground for the kids, and pool. The staff always seem pleasant and there are plenty of squirrels, which my French Bulldog loves to chase. He’s a squirrel dog in his own mind! 🤣

      Very nice RV park

This is a very nice RV Park. It’s big. Almost 150 sites, with water, sewer and 30/50 amp electric. There are also a few tent sites with electricity. It’s well kept-grass is mowed, grounds and facilities are clean. There is a playground, a dog park, pool and hot tub. Showers and bathrooms are nice. Laundry room, small grocery/gift shop. And a guest lounge. There is a paved walking trail along the river. There is also a public boat ramp about 1/4 mile away for access to the Mississippi. Internet was sport. With this many Class A motorhomes and people streaming media the server can’t keep up.

      Big Rig Friendly

Nice wide roads in the park so easy to access your site. Pool area is very nice. There are tables, chairs, rocking chairs and recliners for your use. There is a large shaded area if you don’t want to sit in the sun. The lawns throughout the park are very well maintained. Very level sites with shade. A very nice enclosed dog park along with many paths to walk your dog. Utilities all work well. Like most campgrounds, there are lots of cigarette butts on the ground and dog poop. I don’t understand why people can not pick up after themselves! WIFI is spotty along with the over air channels. There were many dead large limbs in the trees above our site. We had a bad rain storm and many fell onto our roof. Luckily, we had no damage.

      Baton Rouge KOA

Exactly what you need when visiting Baton Rouge!

We have stayed here for 4 consecutive years for the Louisiana Marathon weekend in January and couldn’t ask for a better home base for one of our favorite race weekends.

They offer regular pull thru spots with both 30 and 50 amp full hook ups and deluxe with a fire ring and patio space. The campground and bath house are kept clean and there is even a dog park for your furry camping friends.

      Punkin Park Campground

      Nasty place

There are derelict travel trailers laying around.  It smells of sewer.  When it rains it is very muddy,  with ankle deep water.  One of the managers drives around on a golf cart,  harassing the tenets.  Knocking on doors in the middle of the night.  There is a dirty old man,  who lives there, he preys on women. The managers outside dog has heartworm,  keep your pet safe.  You have to pay $10 per person a day to use the pool.  They charge $10 per person per day to fish in the lake,  no fish.

      Paradise Ranch RV Resort

Nice park, but not as impressed as I thought I’d be

This is my first stay at Paradise Ranch. I had pretty high expectations based upon their website and feedback from friends. Note: Apple Maps and RV Life GPS will route you to the old park entrance which is closed. The new entrance is about 200 yards further east along Hwy 48. The sign at the entrance is off the road and you could miss it if you dont pay attention.

Checking in, the lady gave me poor directions to my site. It was unclear where to turn after entering the gate and she routed me where Id have to back-in to my pull-through site.

A very hard rain storm came through as we were setting up. Had to go in the RV and wait out the rain. Afterwards, I noticed a number of the campsites and roads were flooded with a few inches of water. Some of my neighbors RVs were surrounded by water for a little while until it could drain away. Fortunately, my site did not flood.

The entrance road is concrete, but all of the roads within the park are gravel or dirt. Some sites have concrete pads, especially near the Lagoon. We stayed in pull-through campsite #P85 which was not shady and not very level. It was a gravel site with grass on either side. There was enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are close. The site included: picnic table on grass and fire bowl. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in the middle. Water in the middle, good pressure. Sewer towards the front with 4 screw-on fitting. I know they area I camped in is newly expanded and only opened up a few months ago. Im sure it will improve over time.

Bass Lake (onsite) is beautiful. The BL campsites are shady. I would probably stay along the lake if I came here again. There is an area near the lake where you can see (and pet) the red stag deer. There are also some hogs wandering around the lake that you can pet.

The Lagoon area has a lot of shade, except for the pool, of course. The pool is large and also incudes a kiddy pool. We were disappointed to find the zip line that is mentioned on their website was not there. There was a good live band on the stage Saturday night. They also had a number of activities for the kids throughout the day. We enjoyed the water gun wars. Some of the camp staff also participate. If you stay in a Lagoon campsite, Id recommend one on the west side as they are a few feet higher in elevation than those on the east side. There was standing water around the sites on the east side after the heavy rain.

AT&T had 4 bars of LTE and Verizon 1 bar of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 298 Mbps down, 28 Mbps up. No WiFi.

Stayed 3 nights in July. Would probably stay here again, especially if a group of friends wanted to go. But, there are nicer RV parks closer to my home. (Paradise Ranch is about 107 miles from home.)

    Guide to Liberty

Percy Quin State Park Campground offers pet-friendly accommodations with full hookups for both tent and RV camping. The campground features spacious, shaded sites with water views and allows dogs throughout the developed camping areas. Pets must remain leashed at all times while exploring the park's trails and lake access points. Clear Springs Recreation Area in nearby Meadville also welcomes pets with water and electric hookups at every site. Bathrooms at Percy Quin State Park are reasonably clean, though some maintenance issues have been noted in certain facilities. The campground roads can be narrow with limited signage at intersections, requiring careful navigation with larger RVs and trailers. Most sites include picnic tables and water/electric/sewer connections, though not all have designated fire rings or grills.

Homochitto National Forest's Clear Springs Lake Recreation Area provides excellent pet-friendly hiking opportunities with over 20 miles of trails winding through the forest. Dogs can enjoy swimming in Clear Springs Lake during warmer months, though visitors should be aware of water moccasins reported in the lake. Paradise Ranch RV Resort in Tylertown offers additional pet-friendly options with full hookup sites and cabin accommodations that welcome pets. Sites at Clear Springs are flat and well-groomed with access to the lake and hiking trails. Cell service varies throughout the region—Verizon typically has limited or no service in many campgrounds, while AT&T maintains about 2 bars in most areas. Most campgrounds implement quiet hours to minimize barking disturbances, and camping loops provide adequate space for walking pets within the campground boundaries.
