The area is located just north of Aberdeen and boasts both a campground and day-use area. Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts visit the area each year for picnicking, fishing and swimming.

Recreation

Families can swim at the facility's beach, play on the multi-use court and walk along the wooded waterfront. The bluff rises 80 feet above the water and provides a lofty view of Aberdeen Lake and the nearby lock and dam. The waterway extends 234 miles from the Tennessee River to the junction of the Tombigbee River in Alabama and connects the nation's midsection of commercial water transportation with the Gulf of Mexico.

October in lots 40 and 42

The campground was full for the fall holiday. However, the energy was great. It was our first time at the park. The hosts were very helpful. The showers and bathrooms are dated but clean. The best views are located on the water in the lots 80-85. Level spaces and easy to back in.

Great basic site

Really well situated spots, very level and well maintained. Showers could use an upgrade but the worked none the less. Lake is very pretty. Quiet and comfortable stay all around.

Nice. Shady

Nice, shady campground on the river. Fairly level concrete pads. Working lock and dam which was cool to see. We rode bikes down and there was a barge coming up river so we hung around to watch. Once barge was in lock and closed, you can't see anything until the water starts to rise (you see the barge rising). We also saw many barges from our site.

Quiet & Secluded

This campground was the perfect last minute spot. The bathrooms were clean, people were friendly, and sites were level. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at this campground and will come back!

Great Space

First time visitors. Not far from home. Love the double pads on the camp sites closest to the water. They have good room between the sites as well. Seemed to have a new playground for kids. Bathrooms were clean all weekend every time we used them. Yes they are out of date but what older camp ground doesn’t have that? Checked in with ease. Site 78 was a wonderful view and was shaded most all of the day. We enjoyed the park walking and looking. Take a ride down the road to the lake and dam or to one of the many swimming beaches. There are 2 old bridges to check out after the lock. Be on the lookout for little creatures while here. Never know what might come up to your site. Ha. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy another weekend.

Great campground. But host are terrible

The old lady at the gate house is beyond rude. She rides around taking pictures of cars and sticking her tongue out at people. The 2 girls riding around on golf cart are terrible. They got on to me for having 1 tire on the grass. Would not let me bring my boat where I could charge the batteries. Until things change, my family will not be back.  We was there during the July 4th.  We was there June 30th till July 5th

Camp hosts rude

The hosts are extremely rude. The lady host is mean and rude and very unpleasant human. The town nearby is a cute town with some pretty sites nearby. Lots of ok’d homes if you’re into that to look at. The Bath facilities could use some upgrading too. Some of the campground area is prone to flooding as well. Also very cool old military cemetery across town.

Beautiful place

We stayed one night (4/25/21) at site 78. Our site was on the water and we were able to catch quite a few bream directly in front of us. It seems like the sites which aren’t waterfront are a little more tent friendly, but our tent fit just fine in the gravel area by the picnic table. We used the grill on site and it was well maintained. Bath houses are very clean and in close proximity to most of the sites. There’s also a nice playground. We have Verizon and had at least 3 bars the entire time

Boating, Fishing, and Walking

Our visit (3/6/21-3/9/21) falls during a busy school vacation week. We are on the water at Site 74. The site is small, without trees, and very close to site 73, offering no privacy. Some larger sites have trees, and offer water access. The water along this stretch of the Tombigbee Waterway is very shallow and even kayaks can run aground in the mud.

The walk from the campground to the picnic area offers a quiet (~ 2 mi round trip) and views of the lock and dam.

Amazing scenery

This place is absolutely beautiful. The birds migrating and stopping along the river make for such a relaxing and peaceful place to stop and relax. The town neighboring the park makes it difficult to do anything because there is not much there unless you plan on driving 30+ minutes away. However, the setting more than makes up for that.
