Dog creek campground visit

Pleasant campground. Trailers and RVs get water and up to 50 amp hookups. Our 4 night stay has warranted a portable waste tank purchased as they have 2/3 hookup. Very nice sites. 1/4 of them line the waterfront. Ours was a spacious pull through. No real camp store, but an honor system “shed” with firewood, produce, and canned goods. No hiking trails, but they do have a beach, playground, and boat ramp inside the park. Very quiet park. Volunteer “hosts were very nice. Warned us of the dry campus and leash laws. Convenient enough for a trip to Mammoth Cave without trailering primitive in the National park itself. Good stay!

Long haul

I have been camping here since early 90's, my experience has always been a. Good one, I have mostly camped in a tent right on the water. I used to take my kids by myself and as a lady, my first priority was, safety. I always felt safe. I've taken my boat and kept on water with no worries of anyone taking or messing with any of my belongings. Since then, they have added some things n I'm looking forward for my next stay

Beautiful views, quiet, and clean

It doesn't have all the amenities like a camp store and, when we were there, there appeared to be no staff- but this could have been due to Covid.

Most campsites have a view of the water. And it was very quiet except for large boats going to and from the lake- which also made canoeing challenging at times.

We will be back!

Nice view by the lake

We chose to camp in a primitive site and ended up right on the lake. We are here during the week so it’s really nice and quiet!! Would definitely come back!

Nice campground

Good camping, although sites are somewhat close. Very few with shade, especially if you want "water front". Gravel pads are typically fairly level; water and electric at all but tent sites. Grass way overdue for cutting making it extra buggy.

Lake Views Abound

Seems all sites have a lake view. Less than half full sun-Tuesday. Stayed at a006. Very close to beach, but that means you hear everything at the beach. Very humid and virtually no shade at our site. Would go back!

Awesome campground

Awesome campground. Great views of the lake from sites, very clean bathrooms. Sites each have a fire ring, nice picnic table, and extra “cooking” table that was an added plus. Lake is perfect for swimming, boating, or kayaking

Very nice place. Mark Smith was very helpful. No signal at all on my phone or my husband phone but it was okay. Over all had a great time.

kayaking on Nolan’s lake and camping at Dog Creek Campground

site selection is all important at this campsite. Some have wonderful lake access, shade, and a bit of seclusion. others no trees, no lake, in the middle of everyone. section C has some of the nicer site, even one with a little lagoon perfect to launch your yaks from.

Woof.....

Dog Creek Campground is located on Nolin River Lake in the Kentucky countryside. No worries though this part of Kentucky is pretty well settled, Rednecks at the next campsite not withstanding.....

The Army Corp of Engineers maintains Nolin Dam, Nolin River Lake and the Campgrounds around it so the area is very well maintained, staffed by retirees and organized. However...STAY ON YOUR SITE! :) no grass camping allowed here! The whole area is very picturesque and manicured.

I liked the campground and love Nolin River Lake. The sites are level and have tables, fire rings and lantern hooks. The sites are pretty close together so okay nice with the neighbors, or at least realize you will probably get to enjoy their music and conversations with them whether you intend to or not ;)
